I think the fact that the club has worked to establish better training facilities and a good academy structure etc. suggests that JP and the board do have the best interests of the club at heart. Long may it continue.....

Don't really like the way Roy has talked Long up this week - yes its for the media but, let him develop quietly its very early days and patting yourself on the back is not a great habit either.

With the squad we've got now I don't think we need fear anyone. Obviously tougher getting points off the big 6 but we are as strong or stronger than anyone else.

Sure Roy rates Dorrans - he described him as 'very very talented' last season. Just hope he's used, even if him and Tchoyi are impact players for last 30 mins for a while. Dorrans passing can pick out Long / Odemwingie - as he did last year picking out Odem and Vela.

Dorrans has to play for me and in his best position which is just behind main striker. Tchoyi would then be 30 min impact sub.
Thomas, Sharner, Mulumbu, Brunt across middle.
Odemwingie the front man if fit and committed, Long on bench (and Gera and Thorne). Morrison is useful but doesn't make the bench in a full strength squad.

Reid finished last season well and deserves a chance to redeem himself after tricky game against Man U. Jara's lack of height worries me (Stoke are next after Chelsea) - as well as moments like the Blackpool game.
Given we've signed Billy Jones he would also be entitled to a run in the side before we think of signing anyone else.
