The women are more atriculated than the men

Some great analysis of the games from them

The men are shocking though. We had Evra the other day almost crying because his mate Pogba wasn't given the goal in the France game - asking if it would've been taken off Messi or Ronaldo - just pathetic then last night Keane stating he should've hit his ex coach.

Abysmal.

ITV are rubbish,Keane is ignorant and has nothing to say,Evra? I only watch the match with the sound off and never before the game at half time or the end terrible stuff.
Even the presenter guy I can't stand.

Ronaldo is the ultimate individual, Messi is the ultimate team player. Messi can match Ronaldo goal-for-goal for club because he has some of the best players in the world around him who can take advantage of what he does, and help him out, whereas Ronaldo prefers to do it all himself because he feels like he can.

You're seeing that in this tournament; neither Argentina or Portugal are great teams, but Ronaldo is delivering his solo moments of quality, while Messi is looking for teammates who just aren't good enough. Seriously, look beyond Argentina's front line and this is their weakest team in living memory. Their number one goalkeeper is Man United's back-up, and that speaks volumes.

Sorry but do Real Madrid not have some of the world best players in there team too? Given how they've just won three consecutive CL trophies arguably they have the better players.

The tournament has been a disaster for Argentina because they have just looked like a side bereft of any identity.

Barcelona have a footballing culture that Messi was brought up in and has been the focal point of for so long that it is absolutely only natural he will have problems transferring that to the international side.

The Messi v Ronaldo debate will rage on but the reality is they both bring completely different things to the teams they play for.

I recall Maradona playing in what some, at the time, considered was an average side in 1986 in Mexico and he carried them through

If you can't perform at the world cup you can't call yourself truly world class,Messi isn't world class, ronaldo  is.

But if you do perform at a World Cup does that merit being called World Class?

I'm only talking about the Messi/ Rinaldo comparison.

I think so, to perform consistently at the highest international level is where the greats stand out. there's been some great players that just don't do it at major tournaments. Rooney is a perfect example, great striker but did nothing at world cup or euro tournaments.

I'm only talking about the Messi/ Rinaldo comparison.

Poor argument then if your just using it explicitly for two players. Football is a team game and it's far too easy to put the poor performance of a team solely the feet of one of the greatest players of all time.

Sometimes there are exceptional performances by individuals who can grab a team by the scruff of the neck and lead their team. Argentina know, it's what Messi did to get them too the World Cup which in itself shouldn't be overlooked. Clearly it's not worked so far but it's not his fault and isn't a reflection of his ability.

You have to be kidding me? Messi dragged a fairly bang average Argentina team to the final of a World Cup. The blokes nearly scored 400 goals if that doesn’t constitute world class I don’t know what does.

Some prefer Ronaldo others Messi, I don’t understand why people are constantly trying argue ones better than the other. Appreciate it’s 2 of the greatest ever to play the game who happen to be playing in the same era.

I'm not here to argue against Messi but this isn't the hill you want to stand on to argue for him. The decision to give him that golden ball was highly questionable as he definitely wasn't the best player at that WC. James Rodriguez and Muller were better.

Ronaldo  has dragged his team to win in this world cup, whereas Messi couldnt do it,with arguably better players in his team.
