I was referring to your reply to the comment from Tex.

Tex said without results sentiment will turn against VI quickly then you said like every other manager then and i replied about DM. I believe he was kept on longer than he should have been because of who he was to the club. Not because of the fans but because of his connections. I was saying VI doesn't have those so he might find his head on the chopping block a bit sooner.

He's got a 4 year contract and our owner is broke so it's actually the opposite.

Whether he loses the goodwill of the supporters is neither here nor there.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Ticket sales dates and loyalty points
« on: September 15, 2021, 10:30:29 AM »
My daughter got our 3 tickets for Preston within minutes of them going on sale (away members). She received a call from the ticket office yesterday saying that our tickets were posted on 9th Sept and were now assumed lost. We had not "chased" the tickets and the caller did not ask if we had received them, so obviously other supporters had raised the alarm.
Outcome is we now have to queue at the Preston ticket office for reprints. Caller said batch missing, and my guess is that the 500 away members are without tickets.
My daughter asked can we have tickets from the new batch of 1000, answer "no sorry".
I was previously an away season ticket holder and feel conned into paying £50 for away membership because the club had apparently wiped out loyalty points and so away membership appeared to be the only way to guarantee away tickets.
So I fell for it paid my £50 and a few days later loyalty points were reinstated.
I have 3200 loyalty points and could have got an away ticket for any match.
For this one I now have to queue at someone elses ground.
There's no fool like an old fool!

This would be an erroneous guess. My dad's ticket came 2 days after they went on sale to ASTH. Mine however has yet to arrive (purchased last Thursday) so might see you in the queue 😀

Took us two hours and 30 minutes to make the journey from Walsall. Made it dead on kick off.

Anywhere that leads towards junction one is an absolute nightmare.

Parking further away isn’t an option for our mother who is disabled but it looks like we’re going to have to leave nigh on 3 hours earlier for a game which is only 10 miles down the road.

I got diesel at Morrisons at JCT9 at around 18:40. I was walking down the tramway from Kenrick at about 19:35. So my stretch from JCT9 through the interchange to JCT1 and then negotiating the roundabout took just under an hour. Should take 10 minutes max. I got from St Helens to the Morrison's in similar time to the last 2 junctions of the trip. What on earth are they doing?

Steady on. Not scored or looked like scoring yet which is why we have dropped four points in the last two home games. Poor mans Scott Dobie.

The system isn't changing. He's the only one who can hold the ball up.

He's going to find himself quickly out in the cold if he doesn't improve. Diangana was excellent in his favoured position and along with Robinson who also got both barrels several times, VI spent the entire first half rollocking (for want of a better term - sorry if this is considered a swear word on here?) him.

Well that was my Valball Hawthorns debut and well, it's dreadful isn't it? Particularly in the first half.

If we're going to persist, which we are, Hugill must start, Diangana must play wide left and it's 1 out of the other 3 for wide right. That focal point is crucial.

While it was awful to watch (from just behind the Derby dugout - I saw a better tennis match on Saturday night  ;D) we still should have won comfortably. Furlong alone has missed a very presentable hat trick of sitters. We'll win far more than we lose through sheer belligerence, but there is no way this translates to a higher level and as such, is there any real future in it?

It's very good of Amazon Prime to cede the exclusivity. I'm sure they'd have picked up plenty of new subscribers.

They've got the series win now this test has been cancelled.

Kohli now has wins in England and Australia on his record.

Its why they continued to play on during the 4th test match after Ravi Shastri tested positive.

If COVID was such an issue to them, they would not have continued the 4th test.

Now they're infront, Kohli has it on his record & the IPL starts next week.. COVID my backside..

The ECB will be seeking a forfeiture and a series draw based on all the noises coming out of this mess.

5th test match cancelled as India claim to be unable to field a team due to Covid scares.

Following last nights testing there was not a positive case amongst any of the playing staff.

I am surprised that this is such an issue now they're 2-1 up, as when Shastri and others tested positive for Covid last week, they were more than happy to continue in search of their win.

Of course, the IPL returns next week which I am sure has played no part in their decision.

They should all be made to isolate for 10 days before we let them near an airport.

Dismantled the game of another top player. 6-1, 6-4 win she's put in an absolutely incredible performance.

Final on Saturday vs Fernandez with every chance of winning.

First qualifier to EVER reach a major grand slam final.

It keeps telling me I need video package content on my iPad.

All of the player interviews (except the one with Chris Brunt) and highlight packages work. Just unable to watch the classic matches that are available

I do wonder if you and technology need some time apart  ;D

Would have thought that both Saido and Odemwingie would have been on your list.

I had to laugh last night when Pickford nearly kicked one in. Imagine the pelters on here had that have been Sam. Even the wonderful Pickford makes errors.........

What pelters? He was entirely culpable for a goal 2 weeks ago, and it was "oh never mind these things happen". At least Pickford recovered his mistake.

She has dismantled the game of her last 3 opponents with consumate ease. Absolutely superb both tactically and technically. An amazing talent.

I'm pretty sure O'Shea got booked in the incident (or have I dreamt that?) certainly no blame to attach to the Portuguese.

A real blow for us and for him. Such a shame when he was in such promising form and maturing so well. Very sad for him.

I don’t share the confidence of some others in the quality of our remaining defenders. Not at all.

The reason for that is our wretched defensive record over the past three years.

And of course very best wishes to O’Shea for a speedy and full recovery.

Clarke, Kipre, Bryan and Taylor have played no part in that.

I couldn’t access the site for 2/3 days - just got a strange multi-coloured website saying domain site had not been renewed contact ISP etc.
Wish I had taken a screen-shot pic to send to Phil. If it happens again, I will.

Everyone got that. No need to worry/screenshot etc.

Broken ankle. Certainly won't see him again in 2021. Could be as far off as March next year before he's fit.

You've inadvertently provided our Championship colleagues with confirmation that parachute payments should be scrapped. We're both old enough to remember what it was like scrambling around towards the bottom end of the Championship.

Indeed. This division is a lot more fun as an Albion fan than say, a Forest fan. Not a level playing field and mediocrity gets old fast.

I suspect had Taylor been left footed (or Bryan right footed) we wouldn't have done the deal.

Now he's here hopefully he steps straight into the side and is a roaring success.

Unless someone was going to take Kipre and Ajayi off our hands then there was no chance of us signing an additional centre half when we are rather bloated for bodies.

Clarke, Bartley, Ajayi, O’Shea, Kipre and Taylor should be more than good enough for this season.

It’s unfortunate that Dara and Clarke picked up injuries but that’s the nature of the beast - we should not be running with anymore than 6 centre halves at the club when there’s only three positions available.

Whether we are equipped in other positions is a an entirely different debate.

Bryan signing today  ;D

Why did they go for a run there?

If he was backing up properly it's a comfortable run. No one to blame but himself. That said the commentary didn't mention it but it looked like Jadeja partially blocked him off.

Root needs to get through to lunch.
