I'd also like to avoid Southampton, on par with the best team in the league but what sets them apart (for me) is 2 goalscorers in form. Armstrong averaging 1 goal in 2 and Adams 1 in 3 (almost 1 in 2).

If we can avoid them completely great, if we can avoid them  until the final that's okay, over 2 games not so confident.

Sounds like it’s all ended rather sour for Martin and Swansea.

Talking of Martin, I’ve glanced over all the final fixtures for the top and play-offs and I can’t quite believe that Southampton are back in the autos race after looking cut off. Two crucial factors for them are that they have two games in hand and they still have to play two rivals in Leicester and Leeds so it is in their hands.

On the subject of Southampton; they play Preston tomorrow and I would say if Saints win that we are very very close to a play-off spot as it looks unlikely that both Hull and Coventry will leapfrog us as the game in hand they both have - is against each other.

So basically if Saints beat Preston and Hull beat Coventry then the maximum that both Cov and Preston could get would leave us needing just 1 more point to become unattainable.

Cue Preston and Coventry wins…

I was think along these lines however, I expect norwich to finish 5th, so it's only Coventry or Hull (not both) that need to leap frog us. It's close.... hopefully a draw or Hull win in their game

BTA has had a good season, had he put 2/3 more away it would have been a very good season, fine margins.

I expect CC to keep with BTA in the Playoffs, we don't know enough of  Maja yet as we haven't seen enough of him.

Seem to be losing a bit of form and conceding goals...

Need a win against Rotherham now.

Decent point and good second half.

Thought we went a bit flat last 10mins, coincided with diang going off who was causing problems.

Let's see what CC does here then, very poor.....

Expect BTA for Weimann straight away.

Fellows, M'vila and Swift 60min mark if things don't change

came off after 57 mins

Tremendous. Should be fit and ready to go Saturday.

Point taken.

Principle being, Peace more likely to repay than Lai.

Great news puts money back into the club.

What was the value of this one, believe it £5million (ish).

My understanding is we now owe MSD in the region of £25/30m on terms re-negotiated to be repaid over time by Bikul Football.

£5 million ish owed to the club under review to understand where the liability lies (hopefully Peace as he's a UK resident and more likely to pay it back).

Good interview, came across extremely well... interviewer appeared a little star struck and perhaps could of proved a little deeper.

What took me was how long he's been a fan of football... He's not a man who's taken a blind punt on football (aka Lai). It appears a deep rooted interest with knowledge of the game.

Time will tell but first impressions are good👍.

Great points haul over of late, I'm looking forward to the international break (for once), give the players chance to rest, recover from injury and fans to breath, games have been thick and fast!

I think 15 points should be enough, perhaps 14 given our GD.

Bristol C (H) - 3
Millwall (A) - 1
Watford (H) - 3
Stoke (A) - 0
Rotherham (H) - 3
Sunderland (H) - 1
Leicester (A) - 0
Sheff Weds (A) - 1
Preston (H) - 3

I have us gaining the 15 needed, our fixture list is favourable with some mid-table teams who will hopefully be on the beach. Going to be tough, though confident from this position especially if we can keep our form and unbeaten run going.

Playing poorly aside form two pieces of quality for the goals. QPR a good team with some good players.

Would like to see Bartley on for Pieters, sure up left side if defence and better suited to handle Frey aerial threat.

After 60mins if still 0-0 would push Reach left ring and Pipa left back and try and hold on. Usual subs after that.

QPR have won three on the bounce and they are fighting hard to avoid relegation. Their tails are up. This is a huge banana skin if ever there was one.

I'd happily take a draw providing we win at Huddersfield, or vice versa...

We're picking up away too, important not to lose to keep momentum going away.

We've done fantastic last 6 in games (in 15 days I think), especially the last two against play off rivals.

Ipswich (A) -- Draw
Cardiff (H) -- Win
Southampton (H) Loss
Plymouth (A) Win
Hull (A) Draw
Coventry (H) Win

March looks a better run in, be hard to take if we don't make the play offs from here...

The Peace hatred is pretty astonishing to me and always has been.
We were so bad for so many years and I had a hell of a lot of joy as a supporter during the time Peace was in charge and the club was in a far better position when he left, than when he took over.

I understand people didn't like some of his dealings, but by almost any measure I can think of, he was a successful owner of the club. The absolute  opposite is true of Lai

Second this.

We were brilliant under Peace, best years for me watching the club.

People get obsessed with him selling to Lai, he sold to the highest bidder. Who out of us would reject the highest bid if we were selling our business, home or anything else?

Were no longer a community asset, were a business and businesses are profit motivated.

« on: February 16, 2024, 08:46:56 AM »
A massive piece of the puzzle for the future of WBA FC has fallen into place. We have THE manager, a good squad and exciting youth making an impact in the 1st team.

C.E.O. is a also a big piece of that puzzle.  Mark Miles has conducted himself well and we generally only hear good things about him. I wonder if Shilan Patel continues with MM or brings in his own man.

I'd like to see MM given a chance, he's been at the club a long time, worked his way up and knows the workings of the club top to bottom.

Be interesting to see how MM adapts from 'crisis management' mode to 'implementing a vision'. And if Shilan Patrl is confident enough that MM is his man....

If we make the play offs, having Phillips back will be a massive boost.

Hopefully back end of March, April to get match fit fully ready for May...

Seemed we were in game management mode after 28 seconds. Very low tempo and risk averse performance which is just perfect.

Cardiff were poor, perhaps missing a couple of players.

You can only beat the team your playing however, this game came just at the right time for us.

He's not played much (15 mins in total [not fact checked]) so he's had a mid season break,  I'm hoping this suits grady and he comes back firing and hungry for second half of the season.

Could also have a positive effect on swift with competition for his position.

Tough run next 6 games, we certainly need a couple of big performances to see us through, I'd take 10 points as a good return and hoping we don't lose to play off rivals Hull or Coventry.

Ipswich (A) -- Draw
Cardiff (H) -- Win
Southampton (H) Loss (the leagues inform team atm)
Plymouth (A) Win
Hull (A) Loss
Coventry (H) Win

 EDITED Originally missed off Plymouth.

Who would want to buy a club right now that will be dragged through the mud in every area of the media, plus the massive fine will probably mean no more signings this window.

My thoughts exactly...
