As soon as they accepted the Burnley bid that was what he was going to go for so there wouldn't be a bidding war and West Ham have reportedly matched it. Did see on twitter yesterday that the bid accepted from Burnley was thought to be £7.5m up front with add ons to make it to £10m but can't remember who posted it.
I'd be surprised if Burnley don't make an improved offer though. Everton had an offer accepted for Sissoko but Spurs came in with a better offer and off he went.

Don't do twitter but it wouldn't surprise me if £10m was the total amount with add ons etc.

It will be interesting to see how much Snodgrass finally goes for as I would imagine there will be a bidding war of sorts between Burnley and West Ham.
I'd be surprised if it's much less than £15M (even though I don't think he's worth that),
I would expect him to choose West Ham over Burnley if the accepted bids end up for the same amount.

Never left a home game early. Only ever left an away game twice early. One the other week when Spurs put the third in, and the other last season or the one before against Palace when they scored a penalty for 2-0 , we were terrible that day

Really don't see the point leaving at home games , huge rush to 'beat traffic' . Saturday I needed to get into Brum after the game, got the metro straight after the game finished, and was in Birmingham by 5.20pm. Easy

Depends where you sit though. I sit in the front row of the lower east and it can take 15-20 minutes to get out of the ground, by that time there is usually a queue at the station going towards Birmingham and often you get held at the top of the stairs while the platform is cleared.

If I lived locally I'd just stay in my seat until the final whistle, as it is it's easier for me to watch added on time from the concourse area.

So Hull and Sunderland destined for the drop. Who's going to join them?

Between Swansea and Palace but really anyone up to and including Watford in 14th could get pulled in to it with a run of bad results.

There isn't one stock answer though.
It depends on whether I am staying at my moms or going back to Hull. If I am staying over then I will stay until the end in my seat if I am going back to Hull I tend to leave my seat when they hold the board up for extra time and watch the rest of the match from the top, this way I can leave the stadium quickly and get to the station in time to allow for any hold ups or train cancellations and still get the 6 o'clock from New Street. I still won't get home until gone 9:30pm.

I think the poster who said about people not being able to walk was being tongue in cheek, BUT they do have a point. Some people seem incapable of walking without the aid of their mobile phone screen being an inch in front of their face, if they just concentrated on leaving the ground, looking where they are going etc then we could all get out quicker.

You're right he did something stupid. Our latest signing got caught having taken class A drugs, I trust you will be as sympathetic towards him?

I have some sympathy for Livermore as he was getting over the death of his baby son. I don't have kids but I would imagine if I had lost one I would want to numb the pain whether through alcohol or other drugs. We all cope with adverse situations in different ways, I'm not sure how I would have reacted given the same situation.
I'm not condoning Livermore's use of cocaine but I can empathise with him.

Also Livermore didn't risk anyone else's life by taking cocaine.

I can't recall what Berahino's excuse for drink driving was.

I wish I was going to the Sabbath gig. I saw them in Sheffield on the 13 tour and at the first OzFest in 1998 at Milton Keynes Bowl.

This was posted earlier and is a bit of a clickbait headline, the actual "story" is opposite to what the headline suggests.

reffed in the chumpionship at the weekend I think Barnsley v Leeds

This was reported by, I think The Mirror, as some kind of demotion but it's a biggish Championship game and a Yorkshire derby.

Really feel for the lad. Livermore coming to us meant he was likely to get more game time in his favoured position. Hull fans have been slating him for his performances so far this season but most accepted he was being played out of position.

Hope he makes a full recovery.

Thought we played okay without really breaking sweat. The first goal came at the right time and being quickly followed by the second knocked the stuffing out of Sunderland.

I thought for the first 20 mins or so that the balls played into the box were poor whether that was corners or crosses. Thankfully they got better as the game went on.

Phillips was the best player on the park for me, although Nyom and Yacob were both good too.

Rondon and Chadli were better than they've been for a few weeks but both need to work on their shooting accuracy. Morrison seemed to be off it, his passing was very poor but he did win the ball back a few times for us and looked forward with his passing more than sideways or backwards.
I think Dawson looked comfortable at centre half although he had very little to do. His distribution was better with most passes out going to an Albion player. McAuley was much better too.

Both goals were absolute crackers too, I can't believe the amount of space/time Fletcher was given by Van Arnholt and I thought the chance was gone when Chadli managed to hit the bar (surely harder than actually finding the net?) but thankfully Brunt was there to smash it home.

I was hoping we'd take the game to Sunderland in the 2nd half and give our goal difference a bigger boost, that's my only criticism this season when we've beaten the teams around us that we haven't gone for the jugular. We could have had 5 or more against Burnley and 4,5 or more against Swansea and Hull.

Glad to see he didn't disprove my "he's not good enough for the select group" comment.

He must have been the only person in the stadium to miss Billy Jones pulling down Rondon and MOTD highlights showed he had (or should have had) a very good view of the Djilobodji punch on Fletcher. Hopefully the Djiliobodji incident will go before an FA Panel and Pawson will have to explain why nothing was given.

Just had a look and to be fair a lot of Hull fans disappointed about him leaving. Got to be a good sign

The City fans I know are desperate for them to keep him, moreso than Snodgrass. They really rate his work ethic along with his ability to play a decent forward pass and win a tackle. His pass completion rate is better than any of our current midfielders at 85%.

If true I just hope he will replace Fletcher rather than Yacob but I can't see that happening.

Definitely. Here's the article for those interested:

http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/10733469/fifa-technical-boss-marco-van-basten-wants-to-scrap-offside-and-yellow-cards

FIFA technical boss Marco van Basten wants to scrap offside and yellow cards

FIFA technical director Marco van Basten has floated a radical blueprint for the future of football which would see offside abolished and sin-bins introduced.

The former World Player of the Year was employed by FIFA in September to oversee all technical areas ranging from innovations in technology to refereeing.

And the Dutchman's long-term vision for the game includes scrapping some of its most established rules.

"We must keep looking for ways to improve the game," Van Basten said in an interview with Sport Bild.

"To make it more honest, more dynamic, more interesting, so that what we offer is attractive enough.

"There are lots of variations which need to be tested in the coming years."

Van Basten says abolishing the offside rule would mean an end to games which "resemble handball where nine players, plus the goalkeeper, pack the penalty area and [the defence] is like a wall".

He argues sin-binning players would prove a greater deterrent than the yellow card system.

"That would frighten teams," he said. "It is hard to play 10 against 11, let alone with eight or nine."

Among Van Basten's other ideas is one to replace extra-time and penalties with ice hockey-style shootouts involving players dribbling towards the goalkeeper from "25 metres out".

The 52-year-old also suggested clamping down on time-wasting, stopping any player but the captain from speaking to officials and cutting the number of games in a year.

Cheers for posting that.

I think he must be spending too much time in the coffee shops of Amsterdam (or elsewhere in Holland)

I love the comment "To make it more honest, more dynamic, more interesting, so that what we offer is attractive enough."
I mean football just isn't attractive enough is it?! if only it could be shown to an ever increasing global audience...Hmmm.

I thought only Captains were allowed to speak to refs anyway..or is that just in the premier League?(even though the bigger clubs regularly ignore it!).

As for cutting the number of games, that won't go down well when there is talk of a 39th game for the Premier league played in an overseas country and haven't FIFA decided to expand the 2026 World Cup to 48 teams increasing the amount of games played in the tournament from 64 to 80?
