Yes because pellegrini despite being a good manager isn't very clever when it comes to picking his defense.

This will be an unbelievable signing if it happens - he will by a million miles improve our back four.

Good statement of intent from the club at a time when the supporters needed a very big pick me up.

Exactly right, there can be no negativity with regards to this signing. He is just a completely different level to what we have already.

Club urgently needed to dispel the 'cheap' tag they have earned themselves.

Signing Lescott goes a long way to help removing that tag although I'm sure they know there's more business required.

It hasn't really been mentioned but he chips in with a few goals too, was always in my fantasy teams especially in his Everton days! I like the prospect of him and GMac attacking a set piece

Due to City's busy schedule he still made 24 apps in various cups/Europe etc so it's not like he's been twiddling his thumbs for the past season.

Until there's a picture of him in the stands with an Albion top on or scarf I wont believe a word of it, especially if its a rumour perpetuated by WBA fc. I mean look at the last rumour they "helped" circulate and look what we ended up with. If the same happens here, we could end up with Quarry Bank Celtics centre half FFS !!

I'm praying on this going through as some light relief from the recent rubbish. However just two days ago it was reported he'd agreed personal terms with Hull for a 2 year deal + 1 more in favour. So let's keep fingers crossed and hope we grab him now.

Ive been highly critical of WBA, The Board and The Manager but this is a massive coup!

Amazing signing. Really addresses our defensive issues. I'm absolutely over the moon, and we have to say well done JP, Burton, Irvine for making this happen. Credit where credit is due. Hopefully this is the start of many similar great transfers.

On a WBA front, great, BUT, lets keep improving the squad, light in lots of positions but certainly a great signing for us!
