Great in his natural position against, wasted when moved out wide sadly.

Let it go Legend, your boy Tony was a busted flush as soon as he had any talent at his disposal, just accept his limitations and move on.

That's 4 times in a week he's arrived into the box and got on the end of something - 3 good blocks on his shots 2nd half yesterday. Bodies in the box is something we haven't done well for years - pre-dating Pulis.

Looking at some of the things Pardew has said this week I think Sam will be on the bench once some of the injured older pros are fit. However for me he has done enough to show he can be called on anytime to help out and add to his experience.
Despite his obvious promise I think we will see more of Phillips and Chadli etc before we see Sam or Burke unless we clear the drop zone earlier than expected.

I think next season will be his big one. Really excited by his emergence to the first team. No loans necessary!

I think field looked more effective in the second half when moved wide. I think the first half was probably the poorest half he’s played in this mini run. Still not bad, just he has played better.

megson was advising pullis and pulis ignored him
fair play to megson for bringing him into the side
fair play to pardew for giving him a chance
its his place to lose

Was quite funny. Thought it was a soft yellow, the Liverpool players were just getting wound up because they couldn't score against us and he only held the ball behind himself after one of them pushed him. What would have been the outcome if that was a ballboy?

He didn't get booked for holding onto the ball. The ref let that go. He asked Field to move away from the touchline in the aftermath twice. Field ignored him and got booked.

Surely he was just trying to give the ball back  :P

Interestingly, none of the officials seemed to give a **** when Liverpool's subs were warming up several feet over the touchline during open play though.

It doesn't matter how many resources you have.
If you don't know how to use them, they will never be enough.

A knackered midfield and he still couldn't get on the pitch.

Has been our best player when he's played and should be back in the team. We need fire in this team. We can still stay up but we need some passion and drive.

This is my biggest criticism of Alan Pardew so far. The kid's done really well and then been banished from the team without any real justification especially when you compare him to the likes of Livermore and McClean.

He needs to be playing.

Has been a breath of fresh air and certainly deserves to be playing ahead of some our overrated overpaid static midfield players (all)

Im also wondering whats happened as to why hes not featuring of late given that he did so well.

I see that Leko has been called back from Bristol City.

The club would not let him go according to Express&Star.
Don’t understand the reason behind it.
He won’t get many chances here so why not just loan him out to get much more game time? Playing time is crucial to a young player’s growth.

He should be playing for us, showed he's ready at this level and certainly deserved more game time than Livermore.

If barry is knackered id prefer to see field next to greg unless we are playing a big side then yacob.

Thought he was the standout of the short megson reign. Looks capable at this level

well that's a blessing and a sin, The manager thinks you're good enough that he doesn't want to let you go on loan, but only good enough for 4th in the pecking order.

I'm under the impression that if Evans doesn't get sold in the next week, Livermore or Yacob could try and be moved on to free up wages for a striker / attacking midfielder

Yacob's contract ends in June anyway though there is a 1 year option....assume that's in the clubs favour. If it's appearance based then I doubt he will have played enough to trigger it.
