Chose this game at the start of the year to travel over from Belfast to. Was just looking for one that there'd be a good chance of a couple goals and maybe a win. Really lucked out now this is happening. Should be a great day.

Saido has already said he wont wear the shirt, to much pressure.

Bobby was shown all the Astle photos in the East Stand and some videos cause he could not get the whole Astle thing, at the end he had a big smile on his face and now he understands what the man meant to so many of us. Well Done Albion,

Absolutely brilliant tribute! First the Brown statue and now this.

I wonder if this would have happened had we not had the new Albion Assembly?

Still a fantastic idea and look forward to seeing our boys in that kit for real.

Can see Ideye wanting the number 9 shirt, he seems the type of player that would thrive on that.

Fair enough for Saido not wanting it if thats true. It is a lot of pressure to wear the 9 shirt on Jeff Astle Day, you would HAVE to do the shirt number justice.

This is going to be a truly wonderful, emotional day. Full credit to the club for pushing ahead with this and word too for the Premier League to have sanctioned it. It was against Leicester City at Filbert Street that Jeff made his Albion debut so it's the most appropriate of games to hold this day on. I don't think any of us could possibly watch that footage and not have a tear in our eye. I never got to see the great man play but met him on a number of occasions at Supporter's Club functions and at a wonderful night at the Throstle club for 'Jeff Astle sings'. He was a true gentleman, a true legend and along with Bomber,we will never see the likes of again. I don't think we could put into words the significance of this day, there wont be a dry eye in the house.

Really looking forward to this.  Really want to hear the crowd singing Astle, Astle as loudly as we can before we kick off (and during).

You can get the replica kit from Toffs.  Easy enough to get the Astle Day on, though perhaps we could have a polite word with Addidas to give a bit of leeway on this- surely if the profits go thte foundation (and I would certainly be in the market for one), then usually a sponsors can be generous and relinquish a contractual right for a day.

The Jeff Astle Day was already in the process of being organised prior to the Albion Assembly.

Hi,
as a supporter of WBA FC, I would like to thank Adidas for supporting Jeff Astle day at the Hawthorns on April 11th. It is refreshing to see a corporation doing its best to support a great cause in the establishment of the Jeff Astle Foundation.
Might I ask if Adidas can see its way to producing or sanctioning a run of Tribute shirts to be for sale to those that also wish to show their support to the fledgling Foundation ?
I feel sure that I can speak for many, many WBA fans in saying that a gesture of this sort would enhance the prestige in which we hold Adidas UK.

many thanks for reading and hopefully considering

That video is fabulous, very very emotional, especially Bomber, I bet that wasn't done in one take.

Well done Baggies, Premier League and Adidas.

Presume the goalkeeper top was green back in the day? Hope they've remembered that as well!

From memory, on the day Ozzie wore a green top, white shorts and red socks. And no gloves!

Just seen an article saying the goalkeeper top will be numberless, as per the final. Another nice touch.
