Will I be nominated for "Favourite Moderator" again?

That's why I was demoted you know. The rest of the team kept getting fed up of me winning it* every time.

*everything.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: What age ???
« on: August 26, 2011, 11:11:58 AM »
I've had my season ticket since the age of 3. At first kids will not be too interested in the match, but find everything else around them interesting. I take it in turns taking my cousins up, ones 8 the other is 4. The 8 yeard old was about 4 when I first took her and cried when the crowed cheered, yet now stands on the sits and joins in with everything. Whereas my 4 year old cousin finds lifting the chair up and down more interesting, yet loves coming to the football. It just takes a bit of time for them to get used to.

And Dunc just acts about 4!  ;D

Took my lad to Walsall pre-season when he was 18months old. He frequented the Desi with myself and a few people on here from then on in.

Went to his first Hawthorns game last season against Newcastle, having just turned 3. Loved every minute (until the 85th when he fell asleep in his seat! Must've been the pre-match Stella!)

He asked me to take him to the Parma game the other week. He's not 4 until December, but already asking me to take him. I couldn't possibly refuse.

He's coming with me to Stoke game on Sunday too.

He's more interested in seeing Baggie Bird to be honest, but he gets involved in the game. Clapping, cheering, shouting, chanting.

IMO, there is no right or wrong age. Take them, and see what they think.

With the cup of the double African Cup of Nations one of these players could have a big say in where we finish with PO out of the country.

I very much doubt it.

I think we can all agree that Fortune found a level he is comfortable playing against then.....?!

I wish we would hurry up and sign someone either rubbish or brilliant, so these boring mundane topics don't KEEP coming up.

Just my opinion.

QPR x2
Norwich x2
Swansea x2
Blackburn x2
Wigan x2
Fulham x2

There's 12 straight off the bat! ;)

Yes, those are 6 of the teams that we won't get a clean sheet out of!  ;D

I say fair play to the usual lot who went yesterday. No force on earth would have convinced me to part with £150+. Mainly because I was broke, but even so!  ;D

rubbish kick off time, London, Stamford Bridge, ridiculously over priced, sod that for a laugh.

As has always been said, numbers don't mean anything. 4,000 fans like we had at Coventry, and Wigan last season, or 1,000-2,000 proper fans, I know what i'd choose.

Break the bank on Cahill and cross our fingers!  :D - Seriously though could we afford it? What would he be looking at 70k a week? £15 Million to sign?
I know we don't have a sniff but do we have the financial muscle to pull something like that off? Or has it all gone on wages?

His wages and transfer fee would equate to nearly a THIRD of our turnover.

Do the maths yourself.

When all is said and done, does it really bloody matter?!

Anyone can beat anyone on their day.

This all seems a bit "my dad could batter your dad" to me.

Saw someone suggest earlier that they should get him to apologise to Odemwingie in person.

You really think Pete would want a spectacle made of it? I doubt he's even aware of it.

It's looking likely

Firstly many apologies to everyone on the board for my outbursts yesterday, totally OTT.
We are all very passionate about our club and i was just frustrated about how i felt the club was being held to ransom by one man.

Back to topic. It is excellent news that we now have potentially a very dangerous attack, and with the addition of Long, and Gera as well as the unpredictable Tchoyi,we should be in for a memorable season.

Pete will always get my support while he wears the shirt as will everyone else, just felt he made a bit of a drama about it which could have upset a happy camp.

Fair play chap.

In my 20 years as a regular, it's been Koumas, without a doubt.

This year, Koumas' shadow will begin to be made somewhat lighter by Long and Dorrans. Put a tenner on it. Monster monster.

I voted NO!

I am out of the closet.  Mart, please dont slap me too hard.

Unless it's across my bare buttocks.  I like that  ;)

Ade, in your dreams pal.

Divinewind, you know I have always respected your views, as I hope you have mine. We certainly have had no axe to grind between eachother over the years, I am sure you will agree. Alas, I do think you need to take a step back a little and open your mind a wee bit. Not having a go, just simply one bloke to another.

Like you, I will not lie, I do have skeptical views about all of this, which I will not go into, as no doubt the mods will delete it as usual. Even so, I can see where you are coming from, to a certain degree.

Some people seem to think I have some sort of affinity with the club, or JP, where I will back them to the hilt. Perhaps it comes across that way, I don't know. However I will certainly say, that's not the case. The club, contrary to the relationship I had with them only 2 years ago, have bog all to do with me now, given the actions of a certain tosspot, but that's another story. I have made it clear a great number of times that I have met JP personally. Not in a general "hand shake" way either. He purposely set up a meeting with me, twice, and made the effort to get my views, opinions and what have you on certain matters. That said, I don't like him. Never have done. He was very courteous, very well mannered, and certainly did nothing to annoy me. I just don't particularly like or love the bloke.

However, what he does for this club is quite astounding. Naturally, yes, he annoys a great number of fans, and there will always be question marks over where X Million goes, and his motives as to raising a loan against the club for his own personal gain, blah blah blah. Alas, if you open your mind somewhat and realise this happens in thousands of businesses worldwide, then it is not out of the ordinary. Naturally, a lot of fans feel aggrieved by it given it's the club they love.

Anyway, sod all that bhollux, I think the club made their move with PO. They wanted to make risk a minimum. PO and agent wanted to make their risk a minimum. Conflict of opinions. But it's all been resolved.

No grudges should be held, IMO. PO did NOT say he wanted to leave, and he certainly was not trying to rip the club off. Many of us suspected it, but we were proven wrong. I do still think there were a couple of sinister/somewhat suspect motives on PO's agent's side, but you know what? F*** it. It doesn't matter now.

Pete, as I said weeks ago, ISN'T GOING ANYWHERE! Posters like Baggie_Artist will still try and troll by saying big clubs can still come in for him, but we all know he's looking for a rise.

I am neither a pessimist, or a happy clapper. I have always been a realist. Pete will be here to help us kick on this season. Come January, let's see where we stand.

EmmJee, out.

Calm down, i'm not getting at you, you berk!  :D

After weeks of baning on about him not going anywhere, even getting the capital letters of HE WONT BE GOING ANYWHERE out a few times, even I started to doubt it slightly.

Forest? They had a great few seasons in the 70's, other than that what? No way are they bigger than us.

You're bang in trouble when Brewer reads this.

Mulumbu, obviously, and Long. Very eager to see more of this lad.
