Well, that was a bit jammy, but we completely bossed the first 40 minutes of the second half, so I'll say that we thoroughly deserved it! Onwards and upwards to those 50 points!

It's what we needed. Everyone could see that the full backs are our weak spot. Sensible signing.

David Mills for me too. Britain's first Half Million Pound footballer, and absolutely useless. He made Andy Carrol look quite good value. Not Big Ron's finest piece of Management.

When I lived in the midlands, I used to go and see Sutton Coldfield Town occassionally. I remember whe they reached the FA Cup first round proper and took on Doncaster Rovers when Billy Bremner was their player manager.

Now I live in Bedfordshire I have a soft spot for my local non-league team - Luton Town! Mainly due to the way that they were unfairly shafted by the FA...

I think that Roy is a great manager, with an incredible amount of expertise and experience, and I am very happy that he is our manager.

But he doesn't half talk some b******s at times!

Said before

I am not sure on him coming back, I dont think players who go back to former clubs works, not sure where hes going to play either!

however if Roy wants him and he "makes it work" then great.

Bob Taylor? Lee Hughes? If it works as well as well as those then I will be happy!

And yes, Gera got a fantastic reception from the Albion fans, and he acknowledged it too.

Welcome home, Zoltan.

Yes, and they are every season...

I honestly can't complain about our signings from last season, and I trust DAve Ashley to find what's required this season as well.

I'd largely agree with that, although I do think that Dawson has earned a chance in the squad this season (but I think he is still under 21, so that doesn't matter), and that Jara is verstile enough to be worth keeping.

I'd actually be quite confident with that squad, depending on who the new faces were!

I am indeed a fool. I had forgotten about the U21 rule, so that frees up 4 places for Dawson, Hurst, Mantom & Thorne then. And yes, substitute Daniels for Alsop!

How do you see this going? Who do we need, and who will have to drop out of the 25 to make way?

Here's my thoughts...

NEW KEEPER, Myhill, Allsop
Reid, Jones, Shorey, Hurst
Olsson, Tamas, McAuley, Dawson
Thomas, Brunt, Thorne,
Mulumbu, Jara, Scharner, Mantom
Dorrans, NEW MIDFIELDER (Vaughen/Gera?), Morrison
Odemwingie, Tchoyi, Cox, NEW STRIKER,

To Go:
Miller, Fortune, Bednar, Mattock, Ibenez, Cech

On Loan:
Wood

IE to accomodate the promising youngsters who deserve a chance (Thorne, Mantom, Dawson & Hurst), and the new Keeper, Midfielder and striker that we seem to be chasing; then a few established faces are going to have to be shed. The only other alternative is to send some of the youngsters out on loan. I might be wrong, but I think that I will be proved right! I will be sorry to lose Miller, but I think that his chance has probably gone unless he has an outstanding pre-season.
