Albion 0 - 4 Chelsea.

Unless we work out how to have 80% possession against every team our defence is going to cost us a lot of goals

Given that we've now shipped 10 goals from just 17 shots on target, you're being generous.

And before anybody points to the number of penalties, our best two keepers have faced 8 penalties so far this season, and failed to stop a single one.

That is penalties. Over all, Button seems to be awake. SJ is a rooted, no matter what comes,

No Gallagher for this one.

I wish there was a clause that said if the parent club agreed then a loanee can play.  We could then send a nice little letter to Chelsea pleading for Gallagher to play. They wouldn't say no would they?

Otherwise there will be more pooh coming through the middle on Saturday.

I can't see anyway Saturday doesn't go incredibly badly for us.  I'd back Chelsea to score as few as 3 and perhaps as many as 6, whereas I dont see us scoring.  The quality they have going forwards and our inability to keep the ball or stay solid is a recipe for disaster.

That puts incredible pressure on us to go to Southampton and get a result. Our prospects are hopefully aided there with a fit Ivanovic and Gallagher and we simply must not lose that game.

With the crosses they will put in, I would play Button rather than Johnstone. Button isn't afraid to leave his line to collect balls.

Remember when we used to look forward to and enjoy these games? I think we've forgotten what it's like to be a newly promoted side!
Even if we had 11 new signings and were on our absolute best, we could still get tonked by Chelsea, the gap is that massive. Just relax and enjoy the ride. We scored 2 fantastic goals on Saturday which shows we have players of real talent, just enjoy that for a bit.
As we bed in we will find our feet and the points will come, whether it will be enough, who knows but, if you expect anything else, I fear you are just going to drive yourselves crazy.

1-3 hope our 1 is another screamer.  :)

Werner is actually a very similar player to Vardy. Scores lots of his goals by using  pace to break past the last defender. Means you have to be very careful playing a high line against them.

Can't believe it's 5 years...or 6 games since we last beat them! About time we did it again.

Mind you we've not managed a point against them (or scored) since we drew 2-2 away in Jan 2016.

                    Button

 Furlong   Semi Ivanovic Hegazi  O'Shea

        Livermore Field Sawyers

                 Periera   Grady

This side would be "ultra" defensive and stop a lot of goals. But very quick on the break. 5-3-2 formation for me.

:( Just a little note would Gallagher have to go to "the little boys" room while Slav discusses tactics and formations???

He is a Chelsea player at heart....so that would be interesting if he is left out of these meetings.

I am hoping for a slight change in formation:

                                                          Johnstone

                   Furlong                 Ajayi                         Ivanovic                Townsend

          Pereira                       Livermore         Field             Sawyers            Diangana

                                                                Robinson

Subs: Button, O'Shea, Hegazi/Bartley, Harper, Grosicki, Austin, HRK.

I'd put Johnstone in for this one, let him take the hit of shipping a load of goals, and then bring Button in untainted for the next one.

I don't think Ivanovic will play, probably not from the start at least. It seems his 60 minutes against Brentford was to get him some fitness.
