By the end of the season it may well be more a case of "if we can get him" rather than "if we want him" if he carries on improving.
The nationality of our Head Coach will be a big help.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Jonathan Leko (on loan at Charlton)
« on: March 05, 2020, 01:08:49 PM »
I have read the full report on the FA website, it is utterly damning of Casilla but for me the fact that Leeds use Tyler Roberts via a WhatsApp message to suggest to Leko that he misheard is a particularly low point of this sordid episode particularly in the light of the fact that at no point at the hearing did Casilla deny he had used the phrase reported. Overall I think the Casilla is very fortunate to escape with an 8 game ban.

As for the PFA, Kick it out etc... well it's par for the course sadly.

The hearing PDF file is at the end of the linked website page.

Casilla repeatedly denies use of the phrase, contrary to Standaman's comment.
He claimed to not know what he was supposed to have said, even when it was clear that all the Leeds players had discussed the exact wording of the insult on the coach immediately after the game.
To his shame he used the 'I don't speak English' defence, amongst other lies.
Leko was commended by the Independent Regulatory Commission for bringing the complaint and his conduct throughout, which given the use of QC's to cross examine him must have been tough for a young player.
It is a good job that he had a strong, credible witness to the slur in M Bonne to corroborate his claim.

Having read all of the evidence, and the pressure he must have been under, Leko has gone up in my estimation.

I'm amused with the number of posters who think there is a burgeoning number of clubs who are queuing up to take our players that they think are deficient.
There is no absolute guarantee that a loan will enable players to develop at all, as the loanees may not get the required game time, and the clubs that take them may misuse them (e.g Gnabry).

If what you say is true then we should never question any of his team selections or substitutions ever. May as well shut the forum down.

As for the keeper situation, I have never said that Bond is better, what I have said is that due to Johnstones pure performances, and Bonds decent performances in the cup, he has deserved a chance.
One dodgy game by Bond, behind an awful midfield does not prove Johnstone a good keeper.
You may well be correct that the grass is not greener but all that proves is that we have two dodgy keepers instead of one.
Of course you can question team selections and substitutions, but it doesn't mean your gripes are accurate or warranted.
Bond had his chance last night, was poor, and wasted it.
Are you saying that the Bond experiment should be repeated? If so, I'd suggest you are in a very small minority.

22 weeks to hear the case!
Good to see the FA are treating the subject with their normal efficiency and alacrity.
And I wouldn't expect the PFA to be much better with Taylor at the helm (whilst earning £42,000 per week).

I demand that the FA stop all matches after Saturday's fixtures and declare the season over, with all current league positions confirmed as the final placings. ;D

They also went on a great run to stay up in the prem under Roy I think so they have it in their DNA to do it.
History. Different team and manager.

I can't see why there is so much debate about a loanee who didn't play a single minute for the first team.
We can speculate about his abilities, but I prefer to leave team selection to the current coach, who doesn't seem to make many errors of judgement.
Does anybody think, given the current squad, he would have been a starter last night? :o

So, to return to Zippy's premise that the vocal senior players who will influence the loanees will all have left.....

Pessimistic and untrue?

I think we all know the warning coming up here - Theoretically, bees can't fly - quite appropriate with Brentford in the mix actually!
Sorry to be a pedant, but you are just perpetuating a myth about bees.

But I'm still worried about Brentford..... ;)

Sawyers has become a complete liability of late. Absolute embarrassment, if we lose this game he should not feature again this season
Do you ever have any positive thought (or comment)? :o

HRK having one of his better games but should have scored there.
Clear deflection for a corner. Goal kick given.

We need our old gaffer to help us today at Brentford.
Typical Mowbray! 2-0 up - need to score 3 to win. :D

Forests latex equaliser was a good strike but I do feel a top keeper should be getting a hand on it
Only if he could have stretched out a very elastic arm...

You could easily make the argument that of our current team, none of the back four and GK are prem standard,
You may choose to be that negative. I would choose to wait and see, if we make it to the EPL, whether Bilic thinks wholesale replacement is necessary.

Far better than Johnstone though.
It must be a goalkeeper thing...
Stoke fans blame Butland for a good proportion of SCFC's woes.

49
You're right though, Bilic clearly didn't like it.
Compare and contrast with Our Tone's attitude regarding time wasting (from 60 minutes onward...)

50
With Jenkins in charge, I don't doubt we'd make it permanent regardless, and then flog him off to the highest bidder if we don't go up.

And the money will stay in the bank.
Very unfair.
Jenkins, for all his faults, has already sanctioned the deal which is in place, and you have no valid basis to claim MP would be sold.
