Saddlers watch - Anything Walsall
« on: March 02, 2011, 10:47:51 AM »
Beat Southampton 1-0 last night and go 3 points clear of the relegation zone. Incredible turnaround they have had under Dean Smith. They looked completely dead and buried at Christmas.

I've got a lot of mates who are saddlers fans.  They always look for the Albion scores and they hate they Dingles.  I'm not speaking for all of their fans but I think in general they dont mind the Albion at all.

I would like them to stay up for sure.

Always try to keep an eye out for their results seeing as I live 5 mins from the Bescot. Incredible turnaround, as said before it looked like they were dead and buried before Christmas.

3 points ahead of the relegation zone now although Swindon have a game in hand. Remarkable turn around considering they were about 9 points behind. Important for them they keep this run of decent form going.

A bit of a false position really. The bottom 3 have got a game in hand on them and D&R have got 4 games in hand on them whilst being only 3 points behind. Still in a lot of trouble but at least now they are keeping their side of the bargain.

Lost 2-0 last night at home to Leyton Orient. When you look at the games in hand some of the clubs around them off you feel they'll struggle.

Why are they a micky mouse club, just out of interest?

Just a regular smaller club, and I massively respect their fans as there are plenty of bigger clubs in the local area that they could choose to support instead, but they stick with the club they love.

Fair play to them, and if Albion went bust, I think I'd become a Super Saddler.

Cant understand the comments about them, their just another team around here like Kidderminster to me, nothing against them but I do respect people who follow them all round the country because they cant really have great away days with the amount they take away.

I really like walsall and often go to their home games as long as it doesn't conflict with the super baggies and really hope they can stay up. Had a couple of mates play for them as well and move on to better things so I always keep an eye out.

They've done incredible to get where they are after the situation they were in, but Hutchings went too late really. The damage has already been done, they blew the games against the teams around them which will cost them. Particularly with all the games in hand the teams around them have.

Still if they can get a win against Yeovil who knows.

I'm glad they stayed up. I always keep an eye on Walsall even though they are feeder club for the Vile.

I used to go to some home and away games with the saddlers as my best mate at the time was a big fan,
it was around the time when we had Alan Buckley taking us sideways and backwards and they had Chrissy Nichol who had just led them out of the 4th tier, at the time they had strikers Kyle Lightbourne and Martin O Conner.

O'Connor was a central midfielder, went to Blues.

That's right, did he go to Cov as well? I remember when Darren Bradley signed for Walsall, it was weird seeing him playing for them, their fans never really took to him at all.
