West Bromwich Albion FC / Dawn Astle leads new PFA Dementia team
« on: February 03, 2022, 11:53:40 AM »
https://www.theguardian.com/football/2022/feb/02/dawn-astle-dedicated-pfa-dementia-department

Following on from what I thought was a really lovely halftime speech at the Peterborough game, Dawn has been appointed to lead the PFA's new Dementia department.

It is fantastic to see the Astle family's work on this subject finally being recognised by the wider football community.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Brunty & Mozza Testamonial
« on: May 24, 2017, 03:18:02 PM »
All seems to have gone a bit quiet on this, after the club made a point of mentioning it last summer. I'm guessing it may be rolled in as the last (home) friendly before the start of the season, but most of the ones I've seen have tended to be more of a novelty match featuring players from across the career of the player - so in this case players like Jonas, Jonno Greening etc would play either for the 'Albion' team or maybe the current squad vs a team of former Baggies - either way this wouldn't really be the big draw that a top level European club would bring and wouldn't be ideal the week before the season starts. And of course this all assumes they are both still here come August.
So are they likely to get a testimonial ??

West Bromwich Albion FC / Ticket Pricing debate
« on: February 09, 2016, 01:25:11 PM »
Given the high profile this is now getting across the media, and indeed the Football Supporters Federation saying they are going to canvas all Premier League clubs fans about protesting over ticket pricing, I started wondering how people on here would feel about protesting - given that our prices are amongst the cheapest in the league and the club have recognised the fact that the West Midlands was particularly hard hit by the recession.
On the one hand I think it's a great idea and that if everyone supports the action it may send the right message to the league and clubs, however does it send the message to our board that we don't feel they've done enough, when they have tried to accommodate local factors into prices freezes over recent years?

West Bromwich Albion FC / New Kit
« on: April 15, 2012, 08:02:47 PM »
Guessing that the new kit will follow the same template as this year's in that most of the teams that are supplied by Adidas will be a similar design/pattern and just different colours.
In which case we might get a version of this

Looking at several of the Adidas supplied teams, the 'gap' on the sleeve (like on the red kit) seems to be a feature on most of the new shirts

Hi there,
my daughter's picture is one of the 10 finalists for the Man City programme design competition. The winner is decided by a facebook vote, so could I ask any of you that feel inclined to go to the link below and 'like' her pic.
It would be much appreciated  :)
