We desperately need a change of formation and tactics. Playing around at the back is ok on occasion, but shouldn't be the play we use every time. For me, this game is massive. Ipswich are bottom and are there for the taking. Fail to beat these and I think DM will take the biggest roasting of the season so far. It's one thing losing to a team like Leeds, but we can't lose to the league's whipping boys.
I'd like us to revert back to a more solid 4-4-2, rather than the 4-3-3 that has failed so much of late. I know 442 hasn't worked that well for us in recent seasons, but with the right personnel it should shut Ipswich out.
Bond
Holgate
Dawson
Hegazi
Gibbs (if fit, if not then Townsend - a left footed player...)
Phillips
Johansen
Field
Montero
Rodriguez
HRK
Subs: Johnstone, Tosin, Bartley, Barry, Livermore, Harper, Gayle.
For me that team has pace on the wings and a more centrally-based attack. Get the full backs overlapping and we'll be laughing. Putting our key attackers out wide has not helped us lately.
I also want to see Bond given a chance between the sticks. If Gibbs is unfit we need a left footed player at the back, we can't play Tosin there. Not his fault, but it has to be a left footer.
And I'm afraid Gayle has been invisible since he's returned from suspension, so I'd drop him to the bench. Give BarryMore rests also.
