Blues handed a 9 point penalty deduction

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/47667742

Hopefully, that will be a manageable deduction. I wouldn’t like to see them relegated as a consequence as I’ve always had a soft spot for the Blues

Agreed, my bluenose colleagues have breathed a collective sign of relief!

Seems to me to be a laughable penalty.

A 9 point deduction, no further embargo & no further financial penalties?

Survive the remainder of the season.

Give promotion a push next year with no penalties.

FFP is a load of rubbish to be honest.

FFP has made no difference to level the playing field, its still the richer clubs getting richer and the poorer clubs running a tight ship. Its always setup to help the rich clubs stay at the top.

I think that was always the case, but wasn’t Jeremy Roland one of only a few that voted against it’s introduction? At least he had the foresight to see it was a loaded dice in that respect.

All FFP does is prevent clubs like us moving forward.

I think Norwich are probably unreachable for us now. For us to finish above them they'll need to drop 9 points, assuming we win our remaining 7. Possible but they'd have to bottle it/choke. In my opinion they're uncatchable - banking on them dropping so many points is unlikely.

We've got 7 games to go. For me, we'll need to gain minimum 18/19 points to catch 2nd place. That means 88/89+ points. Minimum 6 wins required. If that happens, and I fking hope it does, then we're in with a shout.

Not pessimistic, just realistic.

If not, it's likely to be us vs 5th... Villa...?

Norwich are way too far ahead to be caught now. They will win the league.

I'm hoping for a Norwich win as I want Boro to fall out of the play offs (although that is tempered by the fact I don't want Villa to get in).

Norwich first and us second, just like we did it under God Megson, I'll take that all day long.

Leeds 1-2 Milwall

Marshall scores a penalty (Milwall keeper saved a Leeds penalty earlier)

Sheffield United back in front. Leeds now level. We just need to win our own games these two sides are so lucky.

Edit. Brizzle 2nd equaliser.

That Leeds goal was painful. Almost a perfect day.

I have so much resentment that we are so far behind. It should not be like this.

I feel totally gutted that leeds won today. For a good while it looked like they had bottled it but once again they've done what they have excelled at this season; late winners. All but resigned to the hard work that the play offs bring and only ourselves to blame. Ipswich at home, brentford at home, wednesday at home, they all come to mind. Dear lord let us dodge villa, that's all i ask haha.

Every week seems the same, something giveths while the other takeths away.

It's a rollercoaster and i think there'll be more ups and downs as the season goes on.
