He is an atrocious player. One of the worst signings we've ever made, if not the worst.

Offhand, I could list a shed full of inferior players that WBA have signed.
Time for a recantation? :D

To be fair Atomic also said 'with what he has got to work with' which is a reasonable championship quality squad and absolutely no money, so I don't think he is too far away.
You may accept Allardyce sending out the same failing team game after game.
You may accept our most creative player being shunted to an inappropriate position to accommodate a loanee who is failing in his attempt to prove he is a competent centre midfielder.
You may accept not using other attacking substitute options than HRK.

I don't.

Personally, unless he's a murderer or a rapist or a paedo I dont give a flying sponge cake about anything other than how Allardyce is managing our team.

Allardyce is doing fine given what he has to work with.
Thanks for clarifying where your benchmark for a manager sits.
If Allardyce is doing fine, the mind boggles at what doing badly would look like.

Had my season ticket for 30 years and feeling like I have no interest in going back currently.
I too won't be back. After 50 years the string has finally snapped.
If the owner and Allardyce are removed I might reconsider.

He will be nowhere near the Albion when this comes to court, if he sticks to the same timescale used when he threatened to sue the BBC in 2006.
The BBC are still awaiting the writ......

There's no way we spent only half a million. When you add up all bits and pieces, hidden fees, it'll come to a fair bit more than that.
I wonder what Craig Allardyce is doing these days...

Maybe someone wants to buy the club and take it somewhere else - sort of Milton Keynes Albion.
Thankfully this scenario will not happen. The FA have long recognised that the franchise option is not appropriate for English football, and the Milton Keynes fiasco will not be replicated.

Very poor, also in the wake of VVD/Pickford I thought he was slightly fortunate not to concede a penalty when coming for and missing another cross 2nd half where he cleaned out the striker.
You really do have an agenda. That was never close to a penalty, having been subjected to VAR, and repeatedly reviewed by the TV commentators.
"cleaned out the striker"  ::) ::) ::)

Other rags are suggesting Bilic might resign over this and that does not suggest a £10m super deal to me!

Having now seen the SB interview, I think that any suggestion of resignation is wide of the mark. Yes, he is disappointed but does not seem overly upset. Ultimately, it would have been Hegazi's choice to leave (for a far larger wage).

He's not older than me hence young lad, wasn't suggesting he was the younger keeper.
You need to drastically revise your player terminology, as using this weak criteria, G Barry and B Ivanovic are young lads too. ;D

The rest of his game left a LOT to be desired, particularly in the backdrop of the young lad at the other end.
The 'young lad' is older than the guy that you continually berate.
Dyche doesn't share your opinion.

Millwall. Every player's dream location...
What a good job the residents will be so forgiving toward the languid loanee's attitude.  ;)

the simple matter is that Samuel Luke Johnstone is a very poor goalkeeper barely worthy of a place in a League 1 or 2 team.
I love totally objective, accurate assessments.....

Could be great, could be awful.  All dependent on how much he has left in the tank.  Hopefully another Lescott (first season) and not an Andy Townsend.
Judged just on his cameo last night, he did more than Townsend did in his Albion 'career'.
It was nice to see him so animated in conversation with the younger players, as well as organising the defenders.

Carabao Cup 15.09

Millwall 3 Cheltenham 1

Finn Azaz, who had just come on, has his first professional goal, a superb strike from outside the area.

Chairman promise the earth and moon to managers slash coaches when they try and lure them to club. Think Bilic was genuinely surprised at lack of funds available and I believe Jenkins jumped ship over this development. Slaven is a highly thought of coach around the footballing world and with promotion on his cv should have no problem in getting another appointment. If owner is unwilling or unable to come up with financial backing that gives him a fighting chance then would he stay?
When you have one iota of fact to support your theories of Slav's surprise and Jenkin's abdication, I will start worrying. As I said earlier today, this forum has a steady drumbeat of unyielding pessimism.
As Albionic remarked, SB was given two seasons for promotion and would have been well versed in difficulties attached to WBA finances, and is ahead of the curve.
The  self financing template has been in place for years, so why on earth would that be a valid reason for MK to quit?

Makes for truly awful reading. Billic wasnt happy within days of joining us last summer. Sounds as though he isn't best pleased now either.
You may wish to think this is truly awful reading, which would be consistent with the unwavering pessimistic tone which is found on this forum.
I would rather believe that SB would have been very well aware of the paucity of money that would be injected by our distant owners, from the first discussions that he would have had with a brutally frank Jenkins. Do you really think that Slav would have stood for being conned over such a crucial issue?
ALL managers want more money/players, so would not regard Bilic as being overly disenchanted with his position at WBA.
Additionally, it would be exceptional for a Croatian interview not to focus on Croatian players irrespective of the practical reality of them signing for the Albion.

If anybody thinks that all football players are cynical mercenaries, with little regard for the clubs they play for, I would ask them to watch the last two minutes of CB's final interview posted on the OS.

He is the worst professional goalkeeper i have ever seen. No doubt about it.
While not in any way defending Johnstone, I take it you never saw Paul Crichton.

Lazy and over-hyped could be attributed to a seasoned pro like Matt Phillips, let alone a relatively inexperienced 19 Year old.
I do not need a reality check to know that the majority of our squad are not of premier league quality, but some of the youngsters can grow into it. Phillips, Austin, Bartley, Robson-Kanu, Zohore, and Gibbs can not.
Would that be the Gibbs who has already played 170 EPL games? :o :D

Am i right in saying Casilla is claiming he didn't know the N word was not racist.
More than that, he said he had not come across the word ever, did not know what it meant (and that he had no idea of the racist connotation), and never said it.
The commission clearly stated that they did not believe him.
