I've just noticed that it is a century since we won the first division, season 1919 - 1920.
The only time we've won the top division.
One year after the end of the great war.
Makes you think doesn't it.

I'm surprised the club haven't made a bigger deal of this. The anniversary of our only league title should be a time for celebration.

Perhaps the club do not want to highlight the lack of success at the highest level?

They were going to.

Then we didn't get promotion, and Jenkins cut back, from what I've heard.

Only 24 teams have ever won it so still an achievement.
Should have done something, maybe play in hob nail boots or make the players grow little moustaches?

Think there was a line in one of the History VHS from the 90s. Where they state that West Brom' were in a position to dominate for a few years but the Kaiser had other ideas. Some good interviews though none from the Pennington led 1920s team but a couple from the 30s Cup teams.

Makes sense to me. If you want to celebrate winning the top league, at least be in it. We’re not the vile.  ;)

Burnley have won the title on two occasions. Interestingly enough the first time was in 1921, the year after we won it. The second time they won was 1960, the year after Wolves last won it. There's a trend emerging here. If Blues ever win the title I'll most likely faint. But if the Vile ever win the fkr again I'll probably support Burnley the season after, glory hunting bassa ;D .
It doesn't matter how many resources you have.
If you don't know how to use them, they will never be enough.
Oh, and always remember to defecate on those Vile chaps in claret and spew.
