West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Bristol fan ill in Smethwick
« on: October 23, 2021, 11:07:40 PM »
I know that football banter can always be a bit tasty, but I don’t think it reflected well on our club today that some fans in the Smethwick were singing let him die, let him die, when a Bristol fan collapsed and was receiving treatment.  Folks it could have been your dad to grandad down there.  Most clapped the poor blow out the ground.
I do hope that it was stifled quickly by some of our more sensible fans.

This guy is THE problem. Wiped around 75% off his passive investment in 5 years. Absolutely clueless.
He probably paid 75% more than it was worth. I’m sure I’m not the only one who thought we were stupidly over valued.

He makes the odd mistake, of course. Not nearly as bad as some make out though. Just my view but am adamant about it.
I admire a person that doesn’t hesitate to voice an opinion. Just stand and deliver. ☺️

I worshiped the bloke, but I'll forever remember one moment. Liverpool v Albion at Anfield, Feb 1979. I was in the Kop keeping my gob tightly shut (no more room left in the Baggies end)! We were top of the league after the big freeze and were 1 -0 up. Then Laurie had a chance to make it 2 and opted to pass it to Ally Brown instead and the moment was lost! We eventually lost 2 - 1, they went top and we never did again.

I always wonder how different it could have been if Laurie had made it 2 - 0 and we stayed top of the league. Tried to find it on Yowtube but no joy. Anyone else remember that?

Still love him to bits though.
I was also in the Kop that day, but remember that late chance differently. I thought it was Ally Brown through on goal, but missed when there was a player in a better position to pass to. Amazing that there doesn’t seem to be any footage available.

Now top scorers in the Championship.

Most wins (joint); best GD; zero defeats … and of course most points.

Anyone complaining?
Boooooo!!!☺️

Would have thought any neutrals watching would have enjoyed it.
The two Palace fans, that happened to watch with me, really enjoyed it. As I did. 😀

You're entitled to your opinion, but I'm not a fan of playing 2 up top.  You need to keep a presence in the goalmouth area to meet crosses, and dragging one of your forwards out wide leaves you short.
At the same time you need to create 2 against one situations out wide, where possible, which an overlapping winger/wing back allows.
Surely it depends on who the top two are.

Your overlooking that the service was much better in the second half. Bottom line is that Grant is one of the few players we have with a history of scoring goals at this level. I would play him on the right, with Robinson in the middle and Grady on the left. Also VI needs to stop subbing them all after 45 minutes as they need more minutes on the pitch.
Grants best performances for Huddersfield were cutting in from the left.

Is it too early to say Chris wilder is still available?
Yes, it is.

I also think there's a footballer in there that maybe needs some confidence.
I’d like to think that any professional footballer that has reached this level, a level he’s used to, would need anymore cuddling.

Since he has been playing for England, he comes out of his box more.
It must have been coached that way.
Certainly better for us.
He could’ve played rush back keeper against Andorra. 🤪

The rich are allowed to get richer. FFP is a farce. Everyone that can grab a buck or two cares nowt about anyone else. That’s how it’s always been. Not just with football. I’ve given up caring.

Before the pandemic, the ticketing system worked pretty well, it's when they bolted it onto the "my albion" system that the problems started.
So much has gone to ratsh@t due to Covid. The most efficient systems no longer are. Nothing seems straight forward.

Being a bit cynical here, but that looks a bit of a simple layout for WBAFC headed paper.
..and a viler getting so upset about it? Can we please nip this one in the bud.

He's learning well from Jake ay he?
Someone help me here…please. Is this a dig at a specific player?  If so, which one? And why? Is it supposed be funny? If so , please explain it to me. I think my limited sense of humour is outdated.

Although I am impressed with how he has started the season and I don’t agree with the ‘rubbish’ comment, unfortunately I do believe the bit in bold
I’m confused. 🤪

In a strange kind of way I hope that we have done a 'Dodgy deal'. If so at least the owners will have recognized MP's true value.
How does a dodgy deal benefit the possible team we can put out?

Andrea Agnelli and Florentino Pérez have just landed in Barcelona. Potentially meeting with Joan Laporta to discuss the Super League. (Source: @DavidIbanez5)

They're not going to let it rest until it happens are they?
Desperate times for the over spenders. Interesting times. Now we find out where the real power lies.

Calamity Kyle was rattled and out thought by Marcondes all game. Absolute liability.
He seemed to be looking for retribution all game after that late tackle on him early doors.

All Matt Phillips did was play a very basic five yard pass to Mowatt, who actually made the goal by picking out the run of Robinson, who then finished expertly. I think you're being very harsh on Dianganna. Bournemouth doubled up on him and kicked lumps out of him. Their full back could have had four yellow cards. How many times did they go straight through him and give away free kicks around the edge of their box.
Watch it again. Matty picked up a loose ball, I think from a Townsend challenge, and ran toward the goal, and laid the ball off. Without that movement, Mowatt would’ve had nothing to do. It was a good goal all round.

And he’s going home with a bronze.  :D
