Need someone to close down the Saints defenders though as we know they play from the back. They will stroll around Weimann if we pick him, who cant run.

Hopefully Maja is fit for Friday and i would expect to see changes then.

I'd still go Wallace ahead of BTA.  But if all we want is someone to close down and it doesn't matter if they ever touch the ball, then you can take your pick from a load of players.  You're going to have a tough time scoring if your main striker touches the ball 3 times in 60+ minutes.  It's not like we were playing Man City away and couldn't get hold of the ball either.

Can we please drop BTA for the 2nd leg.  He touched the ball once in the 2nd half.  After the first 25 mins, he touched the ball 3 times in total.  5 passes in the entire game and still managed to get dispossessed twice.

If we insist on playing him like we did today - it puts all the pressure on Grady to get something.

Good performance really.   Had the better chances and if either team deserved a lead it would be us.  Would have liked to have seen Wallace on a bit earlier, felt like we closed down better when we was on.  Knowing how they play I'd also like to see whoever plays up top just take a chance on closing the keeper doing earlier.  We wait until it's played at the moment but there's time you can see their wingbacks and just turning and playing it blind.

Shows what I know! Only thought is all very experienced so hopefully know their roles?

You'd hope it's something we've prepared for the game.

5
Bit worried about this.  Doing this many changes can easily back fire, and has done in previous games.

6
I think CC has drilled the XI, and subs risk disrupting the game plan.

Hope it's not that then - we're making 4 subs at the same time now.

7
Surprised we've not made any changes - we normally make them clockwork.

8
Was it a free header, though?

He couldn't even header it - he's had to stretch and reach around the defender to get something on it.  Brilliant effort considered.

9
Can we take BTA off for Wallace please.

10
That's BTA and Fellows losing the ball cheaply in dangerous areas.

He runs them ragged, which is his main contribution. For that, I like him.

So would a golden retriever.  If that's all we want from a forward then we should just sign up the fittest player we can find.

Same as with everything.  Hard to judge unless you know the future.  Would rather have another 12 months of Bartley than someone even worse.

Yeah, we have one of the oldest squads in the league and it's not like our senior players are standing out and still playing well.  They're not Kevin Phillips for example - how many other teams would Reach get into?

Look at Sunderlands squad, their oldest player is Evans at 33, he's played 21 mins this season and been out for the season.  After that you have Bradley Dack at 30.  They have another 3 players who are 25 and older, the rest are 24 or under.  That's a squad put together with an eye on the future.

Been good majority of season when available. Played today like he couldn't give a toss though.

Parting of the ways time for me end of season.

Would definitely look to improve but if he goes we're left with Kipre - who was just as bad today, if not worse - and Ajayi.  We desperately need a decent CH to come in.  For me, all of our problems start with the defence not being good enough.

Was very poor today.  Kept rushing forward and leaving no clear pass into him.  We looked a lot better when Fellows came on.

We signed him as we needed someone desperately to fill the squad with the injuries we had.

Why he played today I don't know.  M'Vila, Chalobah, Reach - none of them should be near the squad if we're serious about the play offs.

Keep him but we need a clear out player wise.  He deserves that chance.

When we were at the bottom end of the table under Bruce there were plenty on here saying that's the standard of our players and where we deserve to be.  He's got those same players up into the play offs despite having his hands tied when it comes to spending money.

Really bad day.  I don't think anyone came out of that game with any positive comments.  Wrong set up, changed it too late, players who think they've already got their spot in the play offs, combines for us to lose 3-0 for the first time under Carlos.

The defence were shocking today.  M'Vila and Phillips should have been hooked at half time.  It's worrying that Maja has been back now and he still doesn't get minutes on the pitch.  I feel like we have a decent 'middle of the pitch' team - it's just at the extreme ends of the pitch we're really poor.

Sheff Wed were excellent and out played us all over the pitch.  Deserved their win.

Should still have enough with Ipswich needing a win against Hull but I wouldn't want to go into the last game of the season needing 3 pts, that's for sure.  Just get us over the line and then we can re-evaluate for the play offs.

As much as I don't like Reach - I don't know if I prefer him ahead of CT.  It's the very definition or rock and hard place.

Notice how none of our team have followed up on their keeper's saves.  Their defence hasn't just stood around.

I can't remember a game when our passing has been as bad as this.

Sheffield Wednesday don't have the players to do much so their manager plays to their strengths. Football usually best when played simply.

They're pacey and attack with speed.  Our defence can't copy with any kind of pacey attack at all.  Look at that 3rd goal, their player falls over in the box and Reach still doesn't step in and get the ball.  We let him get up and carry on playing.

Palmer has got to just save that.  He's palmed it back out when the shot was straight at him.
