So Carlos pointed Piercy in the direction of Mikey Johnston? Well I never....... you could have knocked me down with a feather when I read that.

Just give that last nail an extra smack with hommer will ya !

Was it Mowatt last season that it came out had been carrying a knock for an extended period, could the same be the case for Swift?

4
I could see one of the relegated clubs going in for him

Usyk on points, better boxer

Does modern football require writing off every Albion player on social media?

Perspective required.

We need to talk about Dike. I understand peoples doubts about his fitness but he is contracted to 2026 and is probably one of the most expensive players we have on our books when you factor in wages and the fee we have to hope that he recovers and makes a contribution. Replacing him while he is still under contract is a luxury we don't have.

I am not banking on Faal turning into a Championship level beast but a contribution as third choice rotation should not be beyond him. He has had a successful spell in League 2 and maybe a better one than Tom Fellows had last season.

Can we trade our way to an upgrade at striker? Maybe but I'm not optimistic. Neither Thomas-Asante nor Maja has any sort of market at a higher level and that caps the fee. In both cases the wages aren't buttons at Championship level. To make this viable we have to replace at lower cost and with a better player than the one they replace all of which seems unlikely and that still leaves Faal as the third rotation.

The point is rapidly approaching where we have no choice (whoever the manager) than to turn to youth (based on wages alone).
Only way to break the cycle is to up-sell and we don't have the requisite quality to do that currently.

Is that the one between the Shetland and the Arran jumpers?

I'm offended on behalf of FairIsle jumpers  :P

It's akin to changing the rules for a couple of games, players who are coached all year to play in a certain way (to be managed by what officials can see and what the players can influence on the pitch) now have to adapt to a remote 3rd party deciding what is acceptable to the rules, this required a major shift in  behaviour, yes it's the same for all 4 clubs, but it is almost certainly going to be a factor in how the games play out.

Assuming VAR is used in play offs, I suspect it will only be in the final due to the tech not being in place at the grounds of the clubs

Plain dumb sacking Roseniour in my opinion, He will be snapped up by someone.

Ranks alongside the Rooney appointment as dumbest move of the season

Molumby is to Corberans squad what Andy Johnson was to Megson, but Corberan doesnt want to play that way, in my humble

My sister and brother in- laws are ardent Blues supporters , we’re friends with the late Trevor Francis, who in his pomp I consider to be one of the greatest footballers,RIP Trev.
They must be absolutely gutted.
They haven’t contacted me yet, I suppose it’ll be a few days yet.
Especially if we get promoted.
They are in the football wilderness now which could get even worse because I don’t think their new owners have a clue about English football,it’s not all about money is it.
They’ve always been a second rate club.

Totally agree with you on trevor Francis, hugely under estimated player, Cloughie knew what a genius he was though.

If you were Shilen would you trust him to spend your money wisely???

Simplistic question but I suspect the answer is 90 / 10

I'd love us to target the SPL, Belgian First Division, Ligue 2, lower half of La Liga (potentially optimistic)...if I was throwing a left field suggestion I'd say that the Turkish Super Lig isn't awash with money outside of the big three or four. Maybe the Swiss or Austrian leagues too.
Find the next gen of Sharner / Sneekes / Maresca / Pereira / Siggy / Balis... Do I need to go on, ability and character is what's needed

You may have missed it, but FFP dictates what he spends.

If I am saying KB should be shown the door, how is that me having a meltdown about him leaving?

Melodrama !!

( I think that is going to be my default post for the next couple of months)

Vile are losing 4-2 now. Sounds like some game
Sounds excellent,

Patel's involvement in Bologna is minimal - his investment group have a minority stake and as far as I'm aware he isn't involved, nor has he appointed anyone to act on his behalf. I'm not saying we won't look to make it worth our while, but equally I don't think we're entering into a situation like Watford/Udinese.
Thanks for crushing my optimism

21
I would imagine we will be giving Bologna's squad players some "opportunities" as well
Maybe loaning some of our young un's there for experience and value add too

Your stats may well be right but I am pretty sure that your view of the players and the manager especially are not right. If I ever thought differently, my very long love affair with this great club would be over....
As fans, we can play our part on Saturday and I fully expect an excellent matchday atmosphere.

there may well have been an element of we have secured the play off spot and cannot challenge for top 2 so ....
added to a pinch of "bugger if we get promoted, I will have to move home / schools / family because I am out of contract and not going to get a prem deal.
All topped off with a drizzle of new team at the top, they are going to make their presence felt

and a side portion of "my agent keeps banging on about, last chance to get a deal and cash in the bank"

Cynical yes, but inevitable with an over the hill / end of contract dominated squad.

I only chose Townsend, not that I think he deserves to go, but the time is right for him and the club to part company, things have reached the point that he will be vilified for every mistake.

I would out Bartley / Phillips (no new contracts) as well

As others have said, if we can find buyers anyone else has a price.
