They are looking to being bought by a Chinese consortium.

Wishful thinking, along the same lines as us last summer. If Jianlin buys them I'll be astonished.

If the players are flex down contracts which as reported in the Daily Mail then I do not see the need for the draconian cut backs elsewhere. Either their current trading position is dire (which adds credibility to the rumours of impending financial Armageddon) or while there are some players are on flex down clauses there are some whoppers like Gabby's that aren't.

The £75m asking price is bargain bucket pricing for a Premier League club but still a bit steep for a championship club who will be losing money at a rate that of £2m a month. In short if you want to buy a Championship club there are better options out there because they are on a sounder footing and any money invested in them will improve them rather than patching up a sinking ship.

Conversation with typical viler Monday night at club watching match.

he: "its going to be very hard for us in the Championship next season"

me: "what because of all the the good ex Prem sides there are trying to get up?"

he "no"

me: "the Champ managers with experience of battling for promotion?"

he: "no"

me: "the distraction of all the Midlands derby's?"

he: (totally serious) "no, its because every team that plays us at home will think they are playing at..................wait for it...................Wembley, & raise their game" ??? :-[ :'( ;D ;D ;D

What in the hell were Villa thinking paying 7million for a lad who had played 4 times for Barcelona and giving a 19yo 40k a week with guaranteed rises??!

Whoever was running that club has done a fine job of absolutely screwing them up
I remember Keith Andrews had a similar deal at Blackburn before joining us. He started on £20k p/w there which wasn't bad for a player from League 1. Every 10 appearances or so he got an extra £5k p/w (I imagine it was capped up to some point) so I think he was on something ridiculous like £50k p/w at the end which was stupid wages for a player like Andrews.

Had a scoot around the net after I read the Brum Mails claim earlier.

In 2007 palace 'sources' claimed she had been an Arsenal supporter for 50 years.
They added weight to this story following her acknowledgement of a 19 year old Cesc Fabrigas, knowing who the hell he was at the time clearly meant she was a died in the wool Gooner. Apparently.

In 2009 other palace 'sources' claimed she was a happy Hammer following a brief exchange with a Millwall supporting footman or summat ahead of a game between the two sides. Apparently.

The Sun will probably carry a photo with her wearing a Cameronesque Viler/Hammers half and half scarf with a tint of red before long. What a load of old sh!te.

The Queen is Queen by the grace of God.
And as every one knows God is a Baggie, ergo it's highly unlikely he'd have created her Maj' with a mind to her being a f(kn Viler. Case closed, nothing to see here, move along please.

The Queen, Cameron etc. would just claim to support a football team to appeal to us oiks. That's certainly the case with the pig f***er.

Spot on, it's PR and nothing more to win over a few 'commoners' - personally I wouldn't want any royals or politicians supporting my club as it's all fake.

Anyone read that statement by Lerner? It's embarrassing and cringeworthy. It's like some drunk bloke texting his ex.

This is the Lerner statement.  Let it romantically nourish you :)

Steve Bull is a merchant who specialises in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. He wears the headgear one would associate with this trade. He spent years in the first team of a Staffordshire-based club. And he is not a very nice man.

Randy Lerner being romantically nourished by Ashley Young...pass the sick bucket.
