I bet most of them are going through twitter and Facebook removing insulting posts about him as we speak and replacing them with posts praising him for staying at the 'big club'  :D

fair play to Delph, an English footballer that has seen sense and doesn't want his career to rot at Citeh... it will just have to rot at the vile.
Even Cillit would have banged that one in..

Would imagine with the Euro's next summer he wants to make sure he is playing every week hence him staying at Villa rather than to be a squad man at Man City.

I reckon if he has even a half decent season this year, next summer he will move to a big club after the Euro's.

Fair play to him though, it would appear he has put football before money (i am sure he isnt short of a few quid anyway) and Villa did seem to look after him when he barely played for a couple of years due to injury so maybe he is repaying them because without him based on what they currently have (assuming Benteke goes and how they finished last season) i think they are in for a hard season.

Liverpool could be the next suitors.

Anyone think that this fell through due to the Sterling deal?

I thought that myself. Unusual for a manager to reveal such news isn't it? Not surprising considering he's a gobsh**e though.

I doubt it. I don't think he would have given it the big 'I'm staying' again.

It would be very, very funny if Delph did though.

Hope so would be like us losing saido massive blow for them.

An 'interesting' yet very unwanted twist would be if they came in for Saido as Benteke's replacement, especially as Saido's current contract is still under negotiation.

Different types of player I know, but then the Vile may be looking to change their style of play.... just saying.
