When you've lost six in a row avoiding a seventh is a fantastic performance!

They've let Darren Bent go on loan to Brighton, strange decision considering lack of goals.

Never really liked the idea of Keane being assistant manager, seems like he would want to much say in things.

Cant get my head around letting Darren Bent go out on loan either when they are short of goals.

There's only a few weeks left till Xmas. Book signings will be top priority.

We'll gift them 3 points in a few week I am sure.

They'll be fine and have them to finish above us at the end of the season, sadly.

It's another season of struggle for them, but they'll gather enough lucky points (with a handful from us no doubt) to stay up as normal.

Sounds like us....we too were very lucky to stay up last season.

We have won 1 in 10, yet that win last night took us to 12th and three points above the side we were playing, as well as other sides such as yourselves and Stoke. We've also only scored 8 goals.

That tells you a story about how poor we are, but it cuts the other way too, as it shows how desperately poor the league is.

I think I remember you using a similar line last season.  ;D

Just funny that you go 9 games without a win and we see nothing of you, then all of a sudden you win, move above us in the table and then as if by magic you appear.

Just think it's an amazing coincidence. Not trying to accuse you of not being able to take the 'banter' like most Villa fans I know.

If your theory held any water, then you'd have seen me on here at the start of the season posting.

We play a week on Saturday and I will post in the build up and aftermath, the same as ever, before leaving you to it.

Fair point to be honest, i was surprised to see how far up you jumped after just 1 win. Standard of the league this year seems to be awful.

The club that keeps on giving....

From Neil Moxley, chief football writer (Midlands based) of the Daily Mirror

Aston Villa owner Randy Lerner set to sell naming rights for Villa Park's Holte End

The club have recently appointed a new chief executive who has been told to raise funds by selling the naming rights to each stand

Aston Villa are putting the naming rights for the Holte End up for grabs, Neil Moxley can exclusively reveal in the Sunday People.

The club is undertaking a major new sponsorship drive and one of the most iconic stands in English football could be given a new moniker.

Villa have recently installed a new chief executive, Tom Fox, and are recruiting a commercial director. And part of the brief was to raise funds through selling the naming rights of the stands at Villa Park.

The Holte End, which was once the largest terrace in English football holding 22,500 fans, would be the obvious starting point as it remains the favoured stand for the club’s hardcore support.

Owner Randy Lerner has a background in American sport where such deals are commonplace – although the Birmingham club has always maintained that the stadium itself will not undergo a name change.

Dave Woodhall, of the Heroes and Villains website, said: “Personally, I wouldn’t have a problem with it.

“It wouldn’t bother me if we saw a new £20million striker banging in a goal at the LG Arena End, for example.

“However, there is a section of our supporters who would be against it.”

It will be a sad day when someone finally takes the Vile off Randy Lerner's hands. If only JP had the ambition to lose as much money as Lerner has.   ;)
