So far there is only one thing that I'm interested in, where's McAuley?

On the bench I think he is alongside Brunt.

It's an experimental Northern Ireland side. I think they're saving their big guns for Sunday.

Pretty sure I saw Brunt mentioned in the BBC text commentary, though they are prone to making mistakes

He's currently an unused substitute.

A GOAL!

Scotland winning 1-0. Christophe Berra. Some rubbish defending on the line though. I've seen it a lot recently where people are given jobs to do on the line and then end up either running away or not reacting quick enough.

Anyone been watching Holland lately? They are proper pooh. Without Robben they have practically nothing. Dutch football looks in a bad way at the moment.

Can anyone remember the last team who didn't qualify for the Euros, but still went on the win it?

This will be a pub quiz night question in the future.

Denmark
It is not the taking part, but the winning that counts.

Surely Spain (2012) as defending Champions, thus automatically qualifying, are the last team to win after not having to qualify.

Although winning the Championship previously was how they won qualification - one could argue.

Baird scored a fantastic header off a Brunt assist - unfortunately it was disallowed (and I'm quite unsure why).

Denmark

Yup.
Yugoslavia had qualified, but with the wars between Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro and the splitting of of Yugoslavia, Denmark was invited to play instead.

Brunt was offside. They didn't have a man on the line, so when the second player stopped the ball for Brunt, Brunt was offside.

I want all of the home nations there - England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland

Wales look a good prospect to qualify after beating Belgium.

Scotland have the big crunch match against Poland at hampden. Win that and they should qualify in second behind Germany providing they avoid slip ups elsewhere.

Northern Ireland have to beat the Faroes away - that fixture is paramount because Romania have to play Hungary next up.

Just back from yet another great weekend in Belfast watching Northern Ireland. I think 6 points from the last 4 games will probably be enough, 7 should definitely do it. Faroes away and then Hungary at home in a double header in September next two fixtures followed by a double header at home against Greece on October 8th and finishing away in Finland on October 11th. It will be nice to qualify a game early, Greece at home on my birthday! The Greeks look in free fall at the moment, if the Faroes have done the double over them then they are surely there for the taking! Northern Ireland have already won 2-0 in Greece.

I heard a piece from Big John Hartson on radio 5 this a.m. basically saying that he, Giggs, Speed, Rush, Savage.. ...... had all failed wales, but this crop of welshmen would not let the nation down.

It was quite an emotional rant,

Good luck to Wales.
