I think he's got enough to make it as a pro, but not at Premier League Level. As others have said it's easy to see why Pulis doesn't play him.

I didn't see his briefing before he came on, but it's inconceivable that he didn't get one. He's also played a lot of games at under 21 level, so he should be well aware of the protocol. From what I've seen of him at first team level, he's not a team player & I think he demonstrated that again today. There was an easy option of a pass, but he wanted to make a name for himself, so he chose the selfish option & paid the price.
IMO it will be sometime before we see him again.

By the time he came on, I felt Pulis was in two minds whether to actually bring him on. He kept sending him back and waiting (think it was around 5 minutes) before he actually made the change, almost as though he was weighing up whether it was worth the risk.

Can we please stop being so knee jerk all the time?

One minute we are mint, next we are rubbish. Probably both true as well to be fair, but....
Can the jury hang for a bit please.

Ta.

Speaking of rubbish. The half-time 'entertainment' today. How did no one manage to score?!

Palace fans were pooh too atmosphere-wise. Only really noisy once they'd got their second

Could really do with having Phillips back for this one

From what I can see only one poster is having a go at him. The rest are just discussing the 2nd and vital goal? If he's old enough to play Premier League football then it's okay to scrutinize his performance in my opinion.

Definitely, and rightly so. Especially when the majority of the crowd were calling for him to come on, and a lot of us on here have been asking for it for a while. Good for us to see first hand why Pulis is hesitant to use him.

Only fools have a go at a young lad he made a mistake get over it  he will become a very good player given time and patience

Regarding having a go, as stated by many, he made the mistake that directly lead to the goal. It would be silly to not criticise him for that.

That today was pulis of old awful football he must have told them to sit back and do not lose . let's hope just a bad day at the office after last few weeks it's how we bounce back .

Did he also tell them to leave Zaha unmarked and give up on chasing Townsend back?

I know he made a mistake but come on, Townsend still had a hell of a lot to do. At least he had a go...

Was impressed with Townsend today. Thought that was a very good goal. Nearly applauded it

You can still see at young players if they have any good attributes and Leko has none out of value. The best he can be is a sh*t Sessegnon

I wouldn't go that far. Yes he made the mistake today, but he's obviously eager to impress, hence trying to beat his man every time. I fear he won't be played again though now.

Lack of width cost us today. Their two wingers won the game for them. Have Palace had his backside yet?

Those having a go at Leko need to remember he is just 17!

Not having a go at all, just giving critism where it's due. Yes hes only 17, and you may not like it, but he directly contributed to us conceding a goal today.

It's clear we really miss him out there. Hopefully he's fit for Everton.

Definitely. Struggled for width the whole game today and none of our other wide men could beat their man

Very isolated today and showed some nice touches. Did seem to win more headers than usual too.

However, as someone stated on this topic before, strikers are made and judged by those little moments that change the game. When the ball fell kindly to him and he took a poor first touch in their area shows why I said this needs to improve.

Forget the stats, a better touch there and we have a serious goal chance. Other than that we didn't offer anything going forward today at all. Obviously not solely Rondon's fault though.

Hope that's not the last we see of him. But I feel that has shown us why he hasn't been used much by Pulis. Needed to just play the simple pass and understand that the right back was up the pitch so we were in trouble if he lost it. Will learn with more experience.

Noticed he limped back after they scored, as if to say he was injured chasing Townsend. Not sure Pulis would have been impressed. Thought Townsend was impressive for them as a side note.

Poor game. Little quality.

They scored two decent goals (from their point of view). First, Zaha left on his own at the back post with time to take a touch and pick his spot.

Second we were caught up the pitch. Leko showed his inexperience and should have laid it to Dawson rather than trying to beat Townsend. Ran the length of the pitch and finished very well I thought.

We seriously missed Phillips. Our wide midfielders let us down today. Thought first half Brunt and Chadli looked inside too many times and obviously weren't capable of beating their men down the wing. Mcclean added a bit more pace when he came on, but we then left Morrison on the right wing for far too long in my opinion.

Morrison had a poor game in every position that we shifted him in too - behind the striker he offered little, was far too central when changed to right wing and the game passed him when he replaced Fletcher. Presume Fletcher was feeling the knock he picked up and that's why we took him off.

Thought Livermore had an ok game, but often plays the comfortable ball when we need a bit of cutting edge.

Rondon showed some nice touches and was quite isolated. Thought he went down too easily again and his first touch let him down a couple of times.

HRK offered little other than running around. Was he meant to be a second striker? Shows we desperately need another forward to offer us something more, even if just off the bench. Didn't have that much confidence that any subs on the bench today could come on and have a impact when we were chasing the game.

Chadli was a bit of a passenger, but he's never a winger. I'd have swapped him and Morrison and maybe started Mcclean instead of Mozza.

Didn't think Dawson had the best of games, and Nyom was quite poor in the second half. The two cbs did ok. Benteke is quite a unit!

Had the feel of last season that did. Wondering if the players have stepped off the gas a bit now we've got to 40 points. Honestly couldnt see us scoring at any point of the game. Definitely missed the pace and dribbling of Phillips. Hope he's back soon

we haven't got going, would say palace shaded that half without creating much. biggest fear for me is if we give away free kicks and concede too many corners with Benteke.
badly missing width with phillips out.

Yeah he did well to miss that header. Thought certain goal

Poor first half. Palace are a poor team, we've been even worse. Fletcher and Livermore been everywhere which says a lot. Nyom playing well. Rondon spending more time on the floor than doing anything of note. Morisson having an anonymous game. The two wingers aren't working. Both cutting inside too much. Missing Phillips

George Baddeley was nearly 40 according to this article. He's the oldest in recent times it looks like:

Looks like common sense is coming.
The Football Association wants to test a video assistant referee system from next season's FA Cup third round.

They also confirm in that story that you'll be able to use a 4th substitute in extra time from the quarter final

Also will be testing sin bins and rolling subs at lower levels

Absolutely. When you compare our team stats, possession, passes completed, successful dribbles etc, no way should we be 8th. There are numerous posts on here trying to explain all the good work that Rondon does for the team if  people (Brom in particular) would bother to read them. Match results often defy stats, and so do performances. The opposite side of the aargument is to ask who might realistically be better for us than Rondon, and this is usually met with silence from his critics. The only suggestions I have seen are Shane Long and Chris Wood, and no way should either of these even be mentioned in the same breath as Rondon.

I'm not the only person who thinks he needs to improve.. Not sure what everyone suddenly has against stats. Was just giving an opinion.. Like I said he's done a good job but needs to improve in certain areas.

Bigging  up the opposition again, underdogs for the palace game. is this what you would call mind games

It's so if we get beaten he doesn't look silly. For example if he said he fancies us to win as they're poor at the back, then we don't score. Anyway, most managers say that it's going to be a tough game, even if playing a team many leagues below! I saw Wenger saying that Sutton would be tough and difficult etc. Really annoys me!

Seems there was not much of note discussed this session. Agree with the lower ticket allocation and thought that would be the reason. The renaming of the stand seemed to come out of nowhere? Unless I missed the last minutes

Another win at home. 8)

We've won 7 out of our last 8 at home now. Be nice to make it 8. i think they'll sit deep and try to hit us on the break, as will we, and we'll cancel each other out. 0-0 or 1-1 for me. Rondon with a brilliant finish for us  8)
