« on: February 11, 2017, 01:16:03 PM »
Friend of ours who lives in Spain who is also a West Brom supporter is in a competition to change her life - she is a champion K1 kickboxer and has been given the opportunity to fight on one of the biggest stages in the world on Enfusion in Thailand. This would be her biggest dream come true and no one deserves it more. The energy and heart she has in her sport is unrivalled and she deserves to go all the way! The only way she can get there is to be voted for and to come in the top 2...she is currently third (8 votes behind 2nd place) and the vote closes today at midnight. I normally wouldn't post anything like this, but she is a baggies supporter who needs our help!! The vote takes 30 seconds and can be done by clicking the link below, scrolling down to "female fighters" and clicking the button next to VICTORIA LOMAX. All it takes is 30 seconds out of your day for an unbelievable athlete to achieve her dream...please vote!!!

West Bromwich Albion FC / Youth Players On The Rise
« on: June 29, 2014, 08:10:03 PM »
As we have a manager who by all accounts is not scared to give the up and coming academy players a chance in the first team, I'm interested to hear from those of you who watch these players play regularly, as to whether we have anyone who could realistically become a valuable part of the first team this season. I watch every 1st team match live but have to do so from Spain on TV, and only really get to see the younger players play when they feature on MUTV or LFC TV. Obviously, having seen Liam O'Neill for a few minutes, he has impressed me with his ability to get stuck in and win the ball but this isn't much to go on, and with Roofe and Daniels looking to break through, I want some feedback to how good these players are and whether they are ready to step up if needed in the same way Berahino did when given the chance?

West Bromwich Albion FC / Is Peace Right to keep Downing and Kiely?
« on: January 11, 2014, 12:28:19 PM »
I'm interested to hear your thoughts  on this. I personally feel that when a manager is bought in to stamp his style and methods on a team, he should be backed to bring in his preferred support staff. Downing and Kiely were as much a part of a poor form in 2013 as Steve Clarke yet it seems that our former boss is the scapegoat who gets blamed and fired. I'm not sure how much of the blame lies with  KD Or DK, but they were have to take some portion of the blame along with the players and not forgetting Kiely was a contributing factor as to why Odemwingie (our most prolific Premier League goalscorer) was so desperate to leave for pastures new. I feel we should have backed Mel by letting him freshen up the setup with his own people. While like any wholesale change, this is a gamble, I also think enforcing a new manager to work with people who may not adopt his approach, is equally if not more of a gamble. It's an unnecessary step into the unknown as far as I am concerned.

Personally, I would be happy for Roberto Rios and David Gomez to join the coaching staff as they already know the way Pepe Mel sets up his teams and what is expected of them. Now we have not only the players that have to adopt a new method but also the coaches responsible for training these players. I think this could potentially be a big mistake. I hope i'm wrong.

Personally, I think Hodgson is not cut out to manage a team like England. He is a very good club manager but I think he will be too negative for the International Team and will be on a hiding to nothing. We all know how ruthless the media and the public are when it comes to the England team, I can't help but feel that Roy is going to become public enemy no.1 which will be a shame because he has done wonders here and also seems to be a very genuine and good person.

For the record, I think Redknapp should have got the job all day long. The players wanted him and I'm pretty sure he would have got the best out of them. He's more attacking than Roy which is what the public likes.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Shorey or Jones at LB?
« on: December 06, 2011, 12:59:31 PM »
I personally think Jones has done very well since coming in after a frightful display against Olympiakos. Just interested to see who everybody prefers now we have had the chance to have a closer look?

West Bromwich Albion FC / Chris Brunt

I thought he was shocking today. We've all talked about droppping Scharner but for me, since he has been captain he seems to have gone backwards and looks lost, and doesn't warrant a starting place. Maybe a stint on the bench will bring out a bit of fight that he looks to be lacking.

How he remained on the pitch over Dorrans is a mystery to me. He was a passenger today as he has been for the last couple of months.
