I think it was against the old enemy back in the mid 60s. We won 1-0 and a player called Gerry Howshall scored with a 40 yard screamer.

Anyone else remember that game?

Bristol Rovers, many years ago. Me and my brother got cornered after the match by 6 Rovers fans, who asked us "Are you Southampton fans?"just to hear our accents, then started setting about us. Somehow we managed to get away and I swear to this day that we both beat Bolt's world record for the 100 metres (pretty easily if my memeory serves me well)

Stoke City away 1967/8I think ( maybe the season after). Stoke were winning 1 - 0 when the Stoke 'keeper under no real pressure rather charitably dropped the ball right in front of The King ; 1 -1 it stayed, oh and I saw my first sending - off (they were a lot rarer in those days). ex-Baggies player Maurice Setters had an early bath for an assault on an Albion player, Bobby Hope I think it was.

Wolves away 89-90 season.  They doubled us that season both times 2-1 with Bull getting both winners.   :'(

Remember the chunks of concrete constantly come flying over from the home end and this fella having half the stand sticking out of his head and blood everywhere.

I was at that game too. A woman yards away from me had her head split open from the flying debris.

Sheffield Utd during 96/97 or 97/98 (?) Albion won 2-1, Super Bob scored the winner.

I got the taste for away games and started going on a more regular basis with my dad.

Are you sure it wasnt Andy Hunt who scored the winner? That was my first away league game too, Stacy Coldicott put us ahead, Jan Aage Fjortoft equalised and then im sure Andy Hunt scored the winner with not long left.

Fulham away FA Cup 1969  2-1 victory . I lay on the top of the Fulham dug out that day to get a better view. Those were the days, followed by Chelsea away won  2-1 and Bomber missed a penalty . I have a newspaper cutting of me getting off the football special with bobble hat scarf and rattle ( the old football rattle ) from the London standard  saying something like Baggie boys hit the town. Great days. First game on my own was Notts County away and we took 5000 fans and won 1-0 I think it was 1974'

Nil nil draw at Coventry boxing day 1972.

We had only just signed Willie, whilst Coventry had Colin Stein, so the Rangers scorers from the Battle of Barcelona European Cup Winners Cup final were on opposing sides just a few months after the final.

Not too sure, I may be getting mixed up with some of the players who played in the 1969 youth cup final team? We won 3-0 at home but lost 6-0 away to Sunderland, but I will give it a go?

For us: Mark Grew, Loveridge, Staham, Steve Lynex, Kevin Summerfield, Derek Monaghan.

Wolves: Hazel, Berry?

No mate, he didnt score that day. It was the "Brown" show. Ally got 2 and Bomber scored a screamer from 35 yards out. Regis did lay on a chest pass for one of the goals though. We murdered them that day and kicked bells out of some of them that thought they would come into the away end. The "mob" had just come in and was still in the area of the turnstyles when about 10 of them came in thinking they were going to give it the biggun and got the shock of their lives. We kicked them all over the shop, Rememeber that like it was yesterday.

Colchester away in THAT F.A. Cup season 67/68. Can't remember too much about it now except that we drew 1-1 after Colchester had a perfectly good goal disallowed late on. After luck like that it was generally thought that our name was on the cup that year....and so it was  :D

Bolton away in the 98-99 season. We lost 2-1, but Hughesie had a header 'cleared off the line' that was blatantly over. Super Bob put on a Baggies shirt at the end and applauded us.

I went with my Dad, but he disappeared to the bar at half time, and came back about midway through the second half.
