City have lost 9 games now this season. Something not right there. To put this into perspective we have only lost 6; in 8 more games.

Have you not been watching? Foden has been given the chance, took it with both hands and even Pep, when asked about Silva leaving said why would he need to spend millions when he's got Foden to take his place.

I have, I watched him come on as a substitute again yesterday . He is now aged 20 and has made 5 premier league starts this season. Mason Greenwood at 18 has 7 starts for Man Utd and will probably go on to start more than Foden between now and the end of the season.

Up to this point, Man City have under utilised their very expensive academy. If they do keep their 2 year champs league ban, for next year atleast I see no reason why they need to sign many players this summer. They should give the likes of Foden, Harwood-Bellis, Doyle and Rodgers more game time.

That is the most games Pep has lost in a season since he became a manager.

Your right, and I think it’s Pep

You can't compare the two when you consider who they have to compete against to get into their respective teams.

Foden is trying to break into a team of world class players, Greenwood is filling a gap where they are short at united... big difference.

Must be a very easy team for a youngster to come in to. For what it's worth I don't think Foden will make the grade long term at City; next tier down for me, he's no better than Wilshere was for example. Despite what Guardiola says I think they'll make a major signing to replace David Silva.

Really need a Watford win here. If they can’t beat Norwich then who will they beat?

For me that effectively relegates the Villa. With their GD they are basically 5 points behind Watford.

That’s fine, but I go back to my original point then - I hope that next season, if the Champs league ban is upheld, they avoid buying players and instead give their academy players a chance to fill the gaps that are starting to appear.

Foden is now at an age where he will need game time if he is going to be the midfielder he has threatened to be.

I was a little unsure, but the last few games I’ve seen him he really seems to have stepped it up and matured a lot almost over night. A growth spurt so to speak!

Some of his passing is Pereira / Fernandez esq, and of the type very few English midfielders seem to have in their locker. He’s also looking much more of a goal threat.

Wiltshire was a metronome of a player, he wasn’t a real attacking threat (8 league career goals), Foden looks to be much more dangerous so it’s hard to compare them.

Big year for Foden next year.  A top player in that position needs to 20 goals / assists and I think he may just do that.

Jack Wilshire has to be one of the most over-hyped players in the history of the Premier league,
I'm struggling to think of another who was so lauded but delivered so little.

Nearly every remotely promising young English player is over hyped it is almost the first law of English football reporting. For what its worth I think Foden is the real deal but then again I was on board Jack Wilshire hype train in the early days. I got off when it stopped at a***hole central but there was a time when he looked like he might be a fixture in central midfield for both club and country.

Moral of the story see how things pan out for an exciting prospect be that Greenwood or Foden through the first 100 senior games before declaring they are "the next...!!"
