Motty's final commentary
« on: March 13, 2018, 04:19:38 PM »
Just saying, its the great man's final game.
Crystal Palace v WBA.
Could be exciting or boring.
We could both be down by then. Or one of us going down or both fighting to stay up. Or both staying up by then oh I don't know.
Will Pardew be boo'd off the pitch by both sets of fans or what?

May have an iconic voice but he's a god awful commentator in my eyes. Sure the BBC will find somebody as pants to fill the void
O Albion we love you

Why would Palace fans boo him?

Boo him for leaving?
I know he played for them as well.
Perhaps they won't but we will.
Also can't believe you don't like Motty's commentaries mate, there can't be many like you,can there?

He might be iconic but that doesn't mean he's any good.

And Pardew got sacked, he didn't walk out on them. As far as I'm aware he's remembered fondly there for his playing days.

Thirty years ago he was a great commentator...went on far too long and now they are just cringe worthy

I’m not over fussed on him or many other commentators tbh. There’s to much fake excitement and people trying to be clever by over analysing things. As Ritchie Benaud once said ‘unless you can add to the picture say nothing.’

Motty just has that magic about him I think he is a good commentator better than some others who just sound boring Motty doesn't.

Not specifically Motty related but I have always had suspicions on MOTD that certain comments during the highlights have been added after the game to make the commentary more impressive.

Match of the Day is definitely edited. They often show the game non chronologically.

Re-takes of commentary and studio commentary definitely happen.

I agree with the retakes part, but I don't think they edit things in a non-chronological order, certainly not often.

I quite like Motty. Feel bad that his final game will be watching us.

I know he's quite a popular figure but naughty word 'im, we've had to put up with it for long enough so he can too  ;D .

And unlike us he's going to be paid for being there.

Besides, if he wants to enjoy his retirement he won't want to be getting too excited at his final commentary game anyway  ;) .
It doesn't matter how many resources you have.
If you don't know how to use them, they will never be enough.
Oh, and always remember to defecate on those Vile chaps in claret and spew.

100% this happens, you can tell that the commentary is added after watching the game before in some cases.
