Regarding Wicky, I'm not at all sad that he's not coming to the Black Country.  I wasn't impressed  by his stage-managed training video posted here.  He seemed to be shouting encouragement without doing any actual coaching or giving any instruction.  Contrast that with the initial videos of the  Corberan era.  He had the back line constantly shifting from side to side against the attacking threat and explaining what he wanted in other situations.  Basic coaching I know but the team needed that when he took over.

Bullet dodged - or just bad aim.

Football management is a truly stressful occupation.  Mowbray's true friends should try and dissuade him from returning.  Great guy but would need young assistants.

But Mogga could have our Spanish bloke (Abella?) and Mozza alongside surely (if he wanted them)

We had some good times under Mowbray but it's time to move on, we don't want to become a Peterborough.

Plus have people forgot he jumped ship to Celtic?

I suggest you read his autobiography kissed by an angel about his wife's death from cancer whilst a player at celtic and you'd understand the pull there

Yes
Also seeing lots of people saying Mozza as one of his coaches
Not sure people realise he's not at Albion now and is steve Clarke
Coach at Scotland

I thought he still held his role at WBA alongside his Scotland commitments.

I'd have thought the club would have made some sort of clarification statement on the situation by now? Or is there something going on whereby its still possible it may be Wicky?

Maybe they are working behind the scenes to try and resurrect the Wicky deal. Maybe they are not, a press release of some sort would help to clarify, but might also jeopardise at some level.
Either way most fans probably feel like mushrooms to some extent.
The Mowbray move makes me feel slightly uneasy, but may be the safest option on a short term deal until the end of the season.

Or maybe the deal fell through because of the demise of the defensive velociraptor at Goodison.

It’s probably best to say nothing as there have never been any official announcements made apart from the fact that we are searching for our new Head Coach. There was obviously some premature leak on Friday about Wicky which was clearly a mistake.

Mowbray seems the best option now if he was to get the all clear this week. Luton have already replaced their manager, don't even think Rob Edwards has been gone a week.

It's a shame the Wicky situation has played out how it has, you can't really tell if the club have any fault or not, but you cant hide the fact that, over 3 weeks after we knew we were losing Corberan, this managerial search is now from the outside starting to look less than ideal (read; chaotic and messy), with the club seemingly struggling to get a target identified and then over the line..

Some of this might be out of the clubs control - the timing of the festive period, over excited agents for Williams and Hake, or the odd situation Wicky got us in to, but you do ideally want to see the club looking organised, efficient and in control. I don't think this managerial appointment process can be described that way, even if we can make reasonable excuses for them.

I hope that Nestor learns from this one, especially seeing as the summer window still looks a bit meh 4-5 months in. I am really happy with the ownership and the way the leadership team at the club have conducted themselves since taking over, but if we are to climb the mountain we face to establish ourselves back in the top flight, then you really do need to be s*** hot behind the scenes.

May get some stick for this but I'd be tempted to hold off appointing someone till in the summer rather than just appointing a head coach for the sake of it.

Let Brunt and Abella have a good go for the remainder of the season and then go from there.

Will give us plenty of time without having to rush an appointment.

I can see the logic but I’m convinced that Brunty doesn’t want it and is doing the club a huge favour.

It looks increasing like no one wants it, let alone anyone half decent.
