Maybe there are many like me who would prefer the timing to be better.

I'll look forward to the game to a degree and I get lots of fans being excited, but from a selfish point of view, I like the record we have over them and with them being on a bit of a roll at the moment, plus our squad being decimated by injury, international call ups and loan recalls, I'd have just preferred we drew them when possibly on an upward trajectory is all.

I’m with you on this Baggies

We have played them 162 times in league & Cup.
65 WINS
53 Losses
44 Draws

They have won only 3 games in 25 YEARS ! (17 matches)
They bottled it in a promotion chase when they had an 11 point lead (god bless you SGM )
We have never played them when in different divisions so have the chance to further damage their record against us.
It is meant to be so.

I genuinely don't mean to dampen anyone's ardour (of any description) but they've still got to knock Brentford out before anyone on here gets to knock one out. Baby oil and tissues to one side please gentlemen and pronouns, it's a little early to be thinking of happy endings just yet  ;) .
It doesn't matter how many resources you have.
If you don't know how to use them, they will never be enough.

I’d imagine if it is Tv the police will want it to be the Saturday lunch time slot

More likely to be a Sunday lunchtime. Last time we played them in the Premier League (when fans were allowed in) both games were Sunday lunchtime kick offs.

Anyway as others have said, they've still got to beat Brentford yet.

Bizarre ITV didn't comment on the draw; they really do know sweet fa about football.

at least for the first time in a while she mentioned we had won the competition 5 times .

this game will be midday on sunday

Mixed feelings on this tbh.

They certainly have more to loose than us given their league position and money. Expectation will be on the PL side regardless.

Going into this I’d fully expect a tonking and I’m lucky enough to have never seen them hammer us so there is that worry.

However having said all that I’m not sure they’ll get past Brentford.

The Daily Star is the only thing so far that has mentioned a potential Black Country Derby and it was mentioned on Midlands Today. I think Mary Rhodes is an Albion fan. When they pulled it out I was expecting then to say something but nothing. Forgot how big it is around here it is one of the oldest and feisty Derby's in England us and the Dings founded the football league. Newcastle and Sunderland have played each other more recently than us and Wolves with fans. Moving of Wolves Brentford are tricky, either way COYB

I don't think they're going to beat Brentford either.

They'll get all excited about hammering us then not even give themselves the opportunity to do so.

Either way whoever wins that replay, they'll have a midweek PL game after their trip to the Hawthorns.

Just had a look on MM, according to some it's our "Cup Final". A lot of them seem to think they've already beaten Brentford.
There are a few that seem pessimistic about there chances...should they get through.

anyone wanting to pop over and have a look it's under "The **** away".

This may go against the grain but going by the mentions of how up for it the dingles are of ripping us a new one I hope Brentford stuff them.

Not particularly. They're obsessed with us whereas personally I can't be bothered with them until we play them.  And only then because we're playing them and they despise us with a passion. Besides, the colour scheme hurts my eyes. Burnt psychedelic yellow. Ugh.

If we do get Brentford they may not have Toney if Arsenal sign him and would they risk him for this game. Mbuemmo is injured and Wissa is at AFCON, that leaves Maupay who isn't the best but does know where the goal is. If we face the Wolves, they won't have Dawson apparently, Hwang, Games who will be banned and one or two others. They will have Pedro Neto but do they risk him receiving a big tackle from Kipre with no VAR. We should have Wallace and Swift back and I would want them to play, our weakness and One Neto will expose is Townsend at LB. So I would play Pipa there ad Townsend would be absolutely destroyed. Furlong is Ok I prefer him to Townsend. So either sign a new LB or Play Pipa against Neto if he plays and if he doesn't he may come off the bench

We won't be signing a new LB in Jan and nor should we.
The priorities are for a winger and another forward that can play in numerous attacking positions ideally.

The notion that this is our cup final is laughable.

Such is their record against us their highlights real on Twitter consists of a goal from a game in which they drew at The Hawthorns.

There's more riding on them than there is us.

28 years since their last win at The Hawthorns - they have an opportunity to put that right.

Or they'll **** it up as usual.

Very true. It would be good to get another one over them though. Yet again. It must really hurt. The bitterness must build with every..... single...... goal. Shairm  ;D .

my initial reaction to the draw was,  5hite we don't want them !

BUT if it comes to pass, it is very much theirs to lose and my god it will hurt them if they didn't win it and win it well.
For us losing is just confirmation of current status quo and a couple of days of angst.  Whereas the congenitally challenged population of Dinglehampton will be absolutely traumatised, yet again.

This is a great opportunity to confirm the true order of things we should relish it !

Be our luck that Brentford deny us that opportunity !

Relatively calm about this one. The BCD as is we know it is dead anyway, Wolves are just another bankrolled PL team with players on their bench that are currently worth more than our club.

Losing to their team of experienced PL players and internationals brought together by one of the shadiest figures in the modern game won't detract from thirty years of taking the urine; 11 point choke, double relegation, South Bank 'pie and pint', the 5-1, Hayward's millions, three wins in twenty years. Their current team comfortably rolling us over in a competition we're never going to win pales into insignificance compared to what we've had over them.

There is nothing to fear in defeat and everything to gain in victory - providing they get past Brentford.

A BCD does mean something, just because wolves are in better position than us at this time makes no difference. It was the one fixture I made sure I went to home and away , growing up. Rivalry makes the sport and the manufactured rivalry of teams like Brighton’s and Palace show how envious some clubs are of a derby tradition.

Well said, I've followed football since 1966 never even  knew who they were the first time we played them never considered them a threat never challenged for the League or an FA Cup Final in that time if it wasn't for the fact they are local they are on a par to playing Norwich for me.
The team down the road in claret and spew that's a different matter
