Most of us fans couldn't believe the team selection so hopefully he gets it right with many changes for the cup game.
Recent managers always say they want to progress in the cup then field a totally unbalanced team and we get knocked out.
Tuesday is different in so much as if he played his strongest team as presumably he picked today we would be knocked out so he has freedom to make several changes without necessarily being held to account.
I personally would like some of the most promising youngsters to be given a chance but fortified with some of our best players not all youngsters and perhaps Sarminento and Manja ? given a run out also.

I haven't seen the game, so can't comment on the detail but...........

At this stage of the season, CC has time to experiment, & he might want to see how some players perform in competitive games.
There is also some three weeks left of the summer transfer window, so some of today's under performers might be on their way shortly.

CC has a reputation for being volatile, & there is a clamp down this season on harrasment of officials, I guess CC has been an early casualty.
If it was easy, it wouldn't be Albion

The less he spoke the more he heard, why aren't we like that wise old bird?

For me the sending off of CC today summed it all up he is a very determined guy and intense but sometimes it doesn’t do any harm to take a step back and let it flow , I understand the style of play he wants but some of these players are simply not good enough and cannot be trusted .

I think CC fell into the Guardiola trap of overthinking the tactics before the game today.

The plan seemed to be to press high to try to force Blackburn to turn the ball over in their last third. Ironically that is how Blackburn got both their goals when we gave the ball away in our last third.

I am guessing that CC thought with a high line that Ajayi's pace and Kipre passing would be beneficial. Not focussed on the main point, that they defend like Laurel and Hardy. Bartley has a few diehard detractors on here but is only centre back that talks and organises the rest of them (now O'Shea has left).

Bartley doesn’t organise , he waves his arms in the air and shouts at others normally following one of his many mistakes which have been all too prevalent over the years .

Maybe so. But right now he’s the best we have. He has to start next league game.

Play Kipre on the right and he will be fine . He will be a scapegoat if played on the left . He played very well for Cardiff in a three, maybe that's how we should set up. The way we are conceding maybe a back six or seven would be appropriate.

I’m not in any way saying sack him but his honeymoon period is over
He has to learn and adapt to the players he has not what he wants
We generally have a poor ageing team that can’t play technical high pressing football
All 3 of our goalkeepers are average are terrible or untried
Our full backs are atrocious especially Townsend with no competition
He must have seen kipre and Ajayi are both an accident waiting to happen yet still picks them together
If kipre had a steady old head at left back like Pieters by his side who doesn’t leave a gaping hole down his side he may be better, and as much as I dislike Bartley he may improve Kipre
But never kipre and Ajayi together
I haven’t seen enough of Taylor to pass judgement but you have to say if he’s no better than any of our other centre halves now will he ever be?
How many times did CC start yokuslu and Chalobah together last season and we played well?
Yet he does it again and plays molumby as a 10 to compound that poor selection
He got Huddersfield to the playoffs winning lots of games 1-0 and playing on the counter attack
He must know with this current bunch we are not capable of that so he needs to learn from his mistakes and fast because the Blackburn coach showed him today how to play good football with very limited resources

I’ve not seen the match
I have however seen many posts over recent months stating that CC is basically the only positive that the club has and that if he wasn’t here we would be worse off…along with a few that think he never makes errors.
Well
Swift created more chances tgan anyone else in this league last season ..so why bench him and play a 3 of chalobah/okay/molumby …there is no attacking flair there at all is there ?
I think Corberan makes some very basic errors and it is my belief that he is a bit of a slave driver and ego driven …
Add petulant after today ..

Strange lineup. Picked a defence that’s just conceded 4 to bolton & picked Chalobah who’s hardly played in pre season and is clearly allowed to leave. I’d be playing Pieters LCB & Kipre/Bartley RCB. Midfield should surely be Yokuslu, Molumby & Mowatt or swift.

I'd rather he played Kipre and Chalobah on Tuesday and then drops them against Swansea which is the important game.

I’ve asked it before, but we hear so much about his intensity but do we ever see it in matches? I can’t remember a performances where I’ve thought wow, this is high intensity, high energy.

I agree. It's very tepid stuff.

The most worrying thing is how unfit the players look. What a shocking pre season we had. Not going to lie, I’ve got some serious concerns about Corberan based on what we’ve seen since Burnley away. Hopefully he’ll prove me wrong but I just have a feeling this isn’t going to end well.

Well I was there and for the first half hour there was high intensity with that wanting to win,Blackburn had hardly been in our half until they scored, the couldn’t believe it,their support was mouselike because they were under the fish from us they fouled left right and centre including time wasting,I thought we did look very fit trouble was we could shoot at their goal, simple as that

we put in a lackadaisical performance, a team we seemed to be overconfident and lacked intensity and fight. After we gave Blackburn two goals, they were quicker and fought for every ball, committed a number of fouls, some of which deserved a yellow card, but they got away with it.
Coberan must have read the riot act during half time as we started the second half with purpose and got a deserved goal, we created some clear goal scoring positions, but nobody, nobody takes a shot.

If you don't shoot you can't score should be the motto from midfield to attack

We had the second oldest team in the league yesterday, high intensity teams usually have young average ages. If we wish to be high intensity there's a big discrepancy between the players we have.

That first twenty minutes or so we never looked like scoring and you just knew whenever Blackburn did grow into the game they'd score with the defence we have. They really shouldve had four.

At the time I thought the ref was iffy but watching the highlights back on TV I thought he actually got most of the decisions right. I didn't think the challenges on Wallace or BTA were penalties, nor was Blackburns appeal for handball. The one I do think he got wrong was the handball shout from Molumby's shot, I think that shouldve been a penalty.

I understand this but unless the average age is over 30, pro sportsmen in their 20s should be capable of intensity.

Are we training in a way we are incapable of playing, are our coaches under estimating every other side and/or over estimating our own ability?

It makes you wonder.  In 3 weeks the squad will be the squad. If we can’t do what CC would want in an ideal world then he needs to adapt

He got it wrong yesterday - Chalobah has barely featured in pre season and was being shipped out so I am not sure why he was suddenly thrown into the starting eleven.

The two centre halves are a big issue because they’re both calamities with mistakes waiting to happen. It’s obvious to supporters and should be to Carlos as well.

Our away form is a concern though.

We’ve had 16 away games under CC and won only 5 of them. We’ve lost 9.

We’ve lost 8 of the last 11.

That has to be sorted and quickly,
