Deal done according to Dood. 700k loan fee with 1.3m buy option he reckons.  £2m total if true and they choose to purchase.

Most of the time loan to purchase options are obligatory and used so that buying club can defer payment for 12 months. So in effect we have sold him for £2m. BUT, this Dood character also claimed earlier this month that two clubs had bids of £5m accepted for Josh Griffiths so can't rely on his "exclusives".

All of this
Good coaches make players better

He says to TGH go play as a 10…he does and scores twice…so drops him 😂😂

That was in friendlies, against lower league opposition.

Oh definitely mate. Take what he says transfer wise with a 50/50 pinch of salt. More than 1 person suggesting that the JG deal was done at the time though.

It's a shame, and it only makes sense if we fill the gap with someone better.

It is only Dood so far saying 'deal done' so he may not be gone

Highly possibly there is no strategy. Just take what we can when we can?

Carlos clearly doesn’t rate him but the permanent fee is far too low, they should be paying a £3m package minimum, 21 years old, English & with championship experience, especially considering Bristol just got £25m for Scott.

I really liked this kid. He was more than competent in each role he was asked to play. Maybe if he had been allowed to stick to one role, he would’ve been more than competent. Who knows?

Desperate times, the only way we were going to bring anybody in was by selling first we can only hope the club have someone lined up who is half-decent.

Versatile players sometimes suffer from being so versatile in my experience. Managers will try and shove them anywhere and they don't really get a full at a position to cement a place.

As I said a few weeks ago, it's a damning indictment of our newly promoted technical director, that we are having to sell all of our academy graduates at lower end fees because nobody wants the players they bought in who failed to perform.

A good career move for Gardner-Hickman, providing Bristol City aren't playing him at fullback. A chance to push on at a club who will view him as a senior player rather than an academy graduate.

I hope one day he gets a chance at right wing back, from what I can see that might be his best position, although I wouldn't rule him our developing into a decent championship central midfielder like Sam Field.

We don't kick academy talents on. Carlos also wants to cut down the academy costs so he has more money to get loan players in

Sadly Dood was right again. Makes me smile (cringe) when managers ‘don’t trust’ younger players but are happy for the senior players to be absolute garbage week after week.

Shocking decision.

Question earlier. Is he better than others ? no, is he worse than others? no.

The difference is the others are getting on the pitch for longer each game and having little impact whilst TGH is getting the last 10 minutes here and there.

When he first broke into the team in the centre of the pitch he was getting great reviews, winning man of the match for most games and then last season its as though he was a different player and not getting the opportunities he needed to build on that breakthrough season. Whether that was down to him or the coaching staff we'll never know but 10 minutes here and there helps no-one and sitting watching others on the pitch having little impact each game causes frustration and ends up in an unhappy player leaving.

I hope he goes on and earns that permanent move.

Seen us linked with Jamie Patterson from Swansea , that’s something to look forward to .

10000% correct.
