I think the 3rd candidate is Schumacher

I will be disappointed if it’s Hake. From the outside I cannot see he has anything on his cv that puts him ahead of the other runners. As I’ve already said the fact that he was assistant to somebody that was often criticised for having no visible plan or structure to his teams despite spending millions is very off putting !

McKenna and Carrick were assistants to Ole who had no tactics despite spending millions…

I agree with this entirely with comparisons. You also need to factor in squads at different levels of decay or development. Time given to make changes (most owners, and to be fair fans, are not that patient), and different expectations for teams.  A win percentage deemed a failure at one club, other clubs can only dream about.

Exactly, Wicky managed a couple of top teams in the Swiss league, hake managed a couple of middle to poor teams in the Dutch league. Win percentage can’t be compared.

You can’t compare win percentages of the managers when they’ve managed in different leagues! Hake has a good reputation and I don’t think there’s much in it between him and Wicky. I don’t think Fischer is the 3rd option as his football is completely different.

Fischer is the stand out, can’t see him being interested though. Wicky and Hake both have good CV’s so would be happy with either.

Not really understanding why people want Brunt and Abella as interim to the end of the season. This year is our best chance of going up, the league is poor imo

Will be interesting on Saturday for Luke Williams  :D

I would have liked somebody in place by now just because we’re in a transfer window, however it is probably more important to get the right man in.

What have you seen in Williams to suggest he should get the gig?

I haven’t, I’m just saying our squad is stronger than Swansea. I’d go for cooper, but if he’s not available then it’s all much of a muchness. Eustace, Schumacher, Williams etc. Would have expected we would go abroad but Pearce is heavily involved and has a relationship with Williams already.

Not sure Williams is the right fit for us, doesn't seem to be that progressive.

His record at Swansea is pretty uninspiring too W9 D6 L10 and a GD of 0. (29 scored and conceded).

Obviously, I'll get behind him, should he become head coach, but it just seems so uninspiring.

I’d argue our squad is a lot stronger than Swansea so difficult to judge.

I would imagine it would be the bonus which would be the big appeal and he would only get that if we went up.

I can see the logic in somebody like Moyes but not sure its the route i would go for.

Great manager but the finances make that a reckless deal IMO. Would be more short termism which I thought we were past.

I have been told this morning from a very good source (not with the Albion i should add) that we are very interested in David Moyes.

Supposedly the thinking is we cant do an overhaul of the squad yet and whilst we still are in the playoff mix there is no point changing the playing style and Moyes fits the current approach of organised, etc and has experience (though not sure he has ever won promotion) he is viewed as a calm head and should we go up, he would be one of better options of keeping us there.

It would be a deal until the end of the season with him on a big salary and high bonus incentive and then reviewed when we know where we are, he is supposedly open for a chat with us but whether it comes to anything, who knows!

Of course it may come to nothing but it seems we will be going for a steady approach this appointment with the club overhauling the squad in the summer, had we been bottom half or midtable then a left field appointment would of been likely but from the criteria we are looking for, it seems we really want to go for playoffs.

If a real standout left field / foreign coach does impress then we would take them but it would seem we are looking at safer options rather than a risk for now.

Would be stupid to give out a large contract for 6 months when we are close to PSR & need all available funds for the squad.

Cooper is a great fit, however may be too expensive? Mowbray worked with clubs in a similar situation to us and promotes younger players which would appeal. I imagine it will be a left field appointment like Heitinga, Tudor etc

Loads of credible outlets in Spain reporting it’s done.

Unfortunately I don’t think that’s realistic. The nature of football management is that neither manager nor club is willing to build something together unless instant positive results are maintained for season after season. Carlos has done an excellent job and it’s the closest we’ve come to having a settled management team for years. His departure means we are more than likely to cycle through manager after manager now.

I’ve been impressed with the new owners, albeit things have gone a little quiet recently, but this will be a big moment for them. Can they bring someone in who understand the position of the club yet is willing to build.

May not be realistic, but it would be ideal to have a manager invested in trying. He would have gone to Leeds after 6 months of being here if they offered a proper contract…

He’s constantly been linked with jobs since he started. It’s tiring, people say it’s his agent doing his job. Carrick has done a similar job and isn’t linked with every vacancy in world football. Happy to see the back of him and get someone in who wants to be here and build something.

New tweets from Spanish journalists stating hope it could be concluded tomorrow and CC has advised us it is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Bye bye

I don’t think CC suits the plan Nestor and Patel want. Clearly they want young players with sell on value so we can trade and grow each year. CC is a pragmatist who will always prefer experience.

Midfield trio of Mowatt, Molumby and Swift worked perfectly first 6 games. Have they played together since? Not sure what has happened since Sheffield Wednesday away?!

Picked the wrong side last 2 games. Hopefully Mowatt and Molumby start together next game.

Was more box to box than I thought. Could see a 3 with Mowatt, racic & diakite/molumby. Would be quite formidable!
