good thing we still have a bit of a margin on 8th place. today was majorlyy disappointing but with a few draws and losses to teams around us it seems like it's as you were.

Until Liverpool beat Sunderland tomorrow

Southampton put a bit of pressure on Villa with a 1-1 draw with the gooners!

A really good point for Southamtpon tonight, typical Arsenal though get a few good wins then slip up at Southampton.

Liverpool will spend but unlike dalglish Rodgers will get some decent enough players in to move them up a bit. Swansea are very similar to us they wont over spend. Sunderland,Fulham will spend so they will get closer to us.  Were in a good position but its going to get really tough.

Newcastle beating Everton 1-0. no Demba Ba in the squad so its safe to say he's on his way.
Liverpool beating Sunderland 2-0 Chelsea 0-0 QPR.

QPR just won away at Chelsea... If they get going Villa might get into real trouble.

I expected QPR to get going at some point, Villa are in trouble.

QPR actually looked pretty tricky, too. They made so many excellent passes, and there were so many nice set pieces. We better get ready!

That was a brilliant free kick from Leighton Baines. Perhaps one of the great free kicks I've seen. The movement on that ball was unbelievable. Newcastle look short of options and it'll be a big January for them managing the weight of Europe and a current relegation battle. They need a few wins to ease their fears and shorten the clubs down the bottom meaning the pressure will surely be on Villa if QPR start winning.

Villa have Southampton at home after the cup fixtures.

Arsenal down to 10 men, Koscielny sent off for rugby tackling Dzeko in the area, got it spot on. Dzeko's penalty saved by Szczesny who pushed onto th e post and rolled along the line back to him.

Hard to see Gunners hanging on for more than an hour against Man City with only ten. It's going to be a long match for them!

I think the red card was harsh and it should of been a yellow card. That's the problem with the modern game now as that happens many times in a game. There needs to be more consistency

Definite red for a professional foul as there was no other Arsenal player around except the keeper and City had Tevez there ready to pop it in if Dzeko didn't

I think Arsenal are fast becoming the new Liverpool. With less deluded fans though of course.

There has to be a new record set today. I don't think I've ever seen a game where one player has been fouled so much. Jack Wilshere has spent most of the afternoon on his a*se.
