Wolves captain Roger Johnson rounded bitterly on the club's disgruntled fans with accusations of fickleness and 'short memories' after hearing their demands for manager Mick McCarthy's head when Swansea were two up and - so it seemed - set to inflict a sixth consecutive defeat on his side.
'You don't know what you're doing,' they chanted when McCarthy withdrew wingers Adam Hammill and Matt Jarvis in the 68th minute to send on midfielders Nened Milijas and Adlene Guedioura. 'You're being sacked in the morning,' they jeered.
Johnson, however, saw things differently. 'He knows very well what he's doing because he is an exceptional manager who has done great things for this club,' he claimed. 'And as for the sack, we can only hope the board wasn't listening to that sort of thing because it was below the belt. They should stick by the boss and point the finger where it belongs - at us, the players.

'We were struggling because confidence was low after five defeats on the bounce but the gaffer changed things, we scored twice to end that run and we got a point. They booed when he made the changes but I hope they are looking at what happened and asking themselves honestly who was right in the end.
'Fans are fickle and in the gaffer's case they have short memories. He was a hero when we started the side with three wins on the trot and when he kept the club up last season. Yet here they are calling for him to be sacked.
'They can have a pop at me, no problem, because I'm not up to scratch at the moment and accept that I need to start doing the job I was brought in for. You have to accept a bit of hostility when you are making mistakes, but the sort of things aimed at the boss were not nice to hear when you know how much work he puts into the club.'
Midfielder Jamie O'Hara, who followed up an 84th minute strike from Kevin Doyle with the equaliser less than two minutes later, also insisted that the late revival was 'down to the gaffer.'
He explained: 'The fans didn't like the changes but they had the desired effect, enabling me to push further up and be in the right place to score. That's not luck. That's good management.

'I'm not looking to be known as the man whose goal saved the boss's job but I'll be very happy if ending that bad run proves to be a turning point and we've heard the last about any sackings. Personally, I'd hate to see him leave because he's shown a lot of faith in me.'
McCarthy refused to discuss the fans' reaction and resorted to sarcasm by insisting 'The substitutions were obviously rubbish.'
Attempts to deny that the chants had got under his skin were unconvincing, however, especially when he admitted: 'I'm up for a scrap. If anyone fancies one, I'm more than happy to oblige them.'
Swansea's most influential player, midfielder Joe Allen, admitted that Wolves late fightback had taken the gloss off his 35th minute goal, his first in the Premiership.
He said: 'It ought to feel like a good result, our first point away from home, but it feels more like a disappointment because were were two up and absolutely on top for 90 per cent of the game.'

She's only crying because that's her father standing next to her and she knows what's going to happen when they get home.

I just love how the fans were convinced they were going to get into Europe at the start of the season!   :-*

And where did this ever come from? Evidence?
We never thought we'd get into Europe. LOL!

I'd love a Baggies fan to find me at least one quote where one of our fans genuinely believed we'd get into European football...

I'm more interested in the side Mancini puts out to be honest, be a real test of theirs squad depth. To what I've been told, Wolves then have Man City on sunday so I'll allow Mancini a weakened side to as long as his stars hammer Wolves on Sunday.

I also see Mick McCarthy has had a go at the "mindless idiots". Tonight should be fun.
