Konur

Aston Villa would have to pay a 30m euro release clause to appoint Rúben Amorim, a world record fee for a manager. #AVFC #SportingCP

30m compo!!! I actually think they would pay it too if they can convince him to move

I wonder, if in paying that amount of compensation, they would then be in breach FFP Rules?

Unai Emery to Villa has a chance according to Balague. They are happy to pay the clause.

Villarreal sources feel Unai Emery will leave the club in the next hours. He’s expected to accept Aston Villa job. 🚨🟣🔵 #AVFC

Talks are at final stages with Aston Villa prepared to pay €6m release clause.

So they paid around 4m compo for Gerrard and co. to get em from Rangers, they all had contracts till the end of 2024 season to be paid off till as well. Telegraph said he was on 5m!!!! a year at villa so thats another 8m or so and then 6m on Emery to get him from Villareal. Mental.

Spunked best part of 20m for a years work and manager swop.

Honestly can't imagine those contracts will be paid up in full. It would take incompetence on a very grand scale to not have negotiated reduced clauses. Villa are top splurgers but I can't see even them paying up the full term on manager and coaching contracts of that length.
It doesn't matter how many resources you have.
If you don't know how to use them, they will never be enough.

Good managerial record until he got caught up with Arsenal. No idea how things have gone for him since, I suppose I best have a look. Really hope they don't afford him much time as I can see him doing well for them.

I was think more along the lines of getting the saga of Carlos Corberán over the line. But the way it is progressing, he'll have signed up to SAGA before us   :D

Very good appointment for them, sadly.

Oh to have £6m to spend on bringing a manager in. Their fans don't know they are born, lucky bleeps.

Uni Emery's has taken charge of nine clubs in his career, including the vile

His Managerial statistics, so far, are as follows:

Played: 926
Won: 493
Drawn: 206
Lost: 227
Win%: 53.23%

He has won a league title on one occasion that was with Paris Saint-Germain

He has won the equivalent to an FA Cup on one occasion with Paris Saint-Germain

He has won the equivalent to a League Cup on one occasion with Paris Saint-Germain

He has won the Europa League with three teams on five occasions

Sevilla x 3
Arsenal x 1 t
Villarreal x 1

Gulp!!!!

GK coach Neil Cutler let go from Villa. Wasn't he rated as a coach?

Goalkeeping coach, was part of the coaching set up alongside Darren Moore and James Shan when they stood in for the formerly employed Pardew. He was heavily involved with set pieces at the time. Villa supporter I believe.

Yep but I seem to remember people saying he was a good coach or am I wrong Dan?

I have no idea about his general football coaching skills. I can only remember him being reputed as very good and thorough with the keepers and on set plays.

That said I'm sure Darren Moore also gave him a lot of credit for his in game observations during his time as our caretaker in the relegation season.

Honestly thought DM would go with Cutler and Shan as his assistants if he was given the gig fulltime. Step forward Graeme Jones.

I really don't know how he does it. Didn't do well here with us, worsened Luton, and then somehow wound up in the England set up and now he's at Newcastle, one of the best teams in England. I think for management staff a lot of it is based on nepotism rather than being a proper manager where your results are scrutinized more. He must be a great talker.
