I'm believing but won't rest until it's mathematically impossible for them to stay up.

I won't rest until they first kick a ball in the Championship. Knowing how lucky they get they'd stay up on a technicality, even if they were down on points.

Lose to Newcastle in a couple of weeks and we're gone, they would be 10+ points ahead of us.
Did you know we won the European Cup?

You would have to say so wouldn't you it's not looking good for you now as the teams above look capable of picking up points, I still think 36 will be enough but that's a long way off from you villa boys.

Wonder if Lerner will stick with remi for the champs.

I think we'll go anyway, but our run after Arsenal will give us more of an idea. Newcastle away, West Ham home, Norwich away, Sunderland away. You'd have to think that we must take at least 7 points from those, but that is laughable considering we haven't won since the opening game. I think we'll lose at Newcastle and that will be us gone personally.

I'd pay good money to watch a football match between psychotic penguins and ostriches on LSD.

Nah, the ostriches get at least 2 sent off every time they play.....too much tripping

Though the psychotic penguins do have a problem with retaliation

Besides from not having won in 14 games I think it's the issue revolving around grealish that just isn't helping and really needs to be sorted from a villa point of view.

We had it with Berahino two years ago when finished on 38 points truly circus season with many different childish problems.

One win and everything can change perspective and momentum wise.

Just takes one jammy win to inspire another couple. Was worried Watford would be the one, then Southampton. Arsenal should tear them a new one next week and then comes their entire season in 4 games.

Here's to them being dead and buried before we even have a chance of gifting them 3 points and saving them again.

Watching the villa backside game, damn they are so rubbish. As much as I bemoan our "non" attacking style Atleast we are not completely useless all over the pitch.

Traore is there only option of creating by the looks of it.

They go Newcastle next Saturday. Lose that & they're down.

Walsall away days!

Think they should go for a proven Championship manager!

They will.

Initially they will I agree but if they hang round there for 2 or more seasons that position will start eroding.

I think it takes at least a generation for a club like Villa not to be considered big club anymore. Take for instance Stoke have been in the Prem for about 8 years now and made Europa League knockout stages but I still consider Leeds to be a bigger club and they havent been in the Premierleague since 2004 and been in the 3rd tier.

As funny as it is to see Villa in the mire, and of course it's even funnier to listen to their fans whining about it, their comparative size to ours is irrelevant isn't it?

If they drop, they will be a Championship side, while we will be a Premiership club. If, as Paul McGrath suggests, they go straight through the Championship into League One (delicious) then that is the stature of club they will be while the likelihood is that we will still be a Premiership club.

Do you think they will fill Villa Park when Wycombe are in town? Or Shrewsbury? Or Hartlepool? And if they do, does it actually matter when we will be playing Arsenal, or Spurs or Manchester City?

Football has changed since last time they fell from grace. Like our chums in Wolverhapmton they will find the lower divisions a much harsher environment. Football doesn't run on gate receipts any more. It runs on TV revenue and merchandise.

How many kids in China or Indonesia will want the shirt of a mid table Championship side?

This really is a pivotal season for them. Unless Garde can turn things round in a hurry they could be out of our hair for a very, very long time.
Born Baggie. Die disheartened.
