Thinking of sending Manuel Pellegrini an invoice for four pints of Guinness and an all day breakfast.
I know the Vile only mustered three attempts with zero on target, but they moved the ball well and looked a threat up until City finally woke up.

This made for uncomfortable viewing and was something of a let down given that I only went to the pub to watch them get torn a new one. I have a nasty feeling that the Cockroaches of the Premier League have found a leader.

It doesn't matter how many resources you have.
If you don't know how to use them, they will never be enough.
Oh, and always remember to defecate on those Vile chaps in claret and spew.

On another day, Man City could have given them a pasting!

I'd want to see a few more results before I started saying Villa will be fine!

They will have their honeymoon period for sure, but even at this stage thay have a real task ahead of them. Their defending yesterday was poor and City were really getting into them. Just cannot believe the poor finishing. Cost me money....  >:(

Their key to success is who Rightgarde will bring in during the window.... they look a right sorry shower at the moment......

I think they will still go down. We know better than anyone what happens when you employ a foreign manager during a relegation battle.

The thing that worries me is that they were losing games with Sherwood due to silly, individual mistakes which Sherwood kept repeating (like the one which lead to our goal, which was similar to the Chelsea, Palace and Swansea goals they conceded). When you add up those mistakes alone, it costed them around 4 points...which would put them near safety.

I think Garde may not be perfect but unlike Sherwood he is no fool. He is a proper footballing manager unlike the wise-talker Sherwood and looks to have more layers to him in terms of tactics and philosophy, rather than the classic "go and work hard lads" line which Sherwood used to pedal.
This is why I think they can stay up, as sadly things can only get better for them.

Think these lot will be fine now :( Showed a bit of bottle against City, who really should have won that, but i could see a goalless draw coming a mile off. The arrogance coming from them now following that draw is astounding though.

I still think they will be relegated this season. They still need 31 points from 26 games and have yet to win at home.

Garde might be a better manager than Sherwood but I don't think he is the right type of manager for the situation they are in.

The point they got from City was more down to poor finishing from City than great play from Villa.

We have won once at home due to pantillimon dropping the ball, all fine margins and the fear is it can change around all to quickly.

yes but we have also won 3 times away from home and only lost 2 away, so while our home form is poor our away form is decent and it's that which will keep us up.

I think they'll, finally, go as well and will enjoy it greatly.
Have to admit though, if they are storming the Championship this time next season, whilst we are grinding out 0-0's to tread water in the Prem, there will be more than a hint of jealousy on my part.

1. I will never be jealous of Aston Villa
2. I will never be jealous of any team in the Championship thats doing well, so long as we are mid table premier league.
