I think it will be Mowbray now as long as he gets the all clear.

I think he then almost gets a free hit for the rest of this season, but agree hit that starts in not too awful a position.
A couple of decent signings and some useful loanees and we could still have a decent chance of being in the mix ….
I know a few are saying there’s no money,I don’t believe that to be the case and looking back at last transfer window there weren’t many that expected as many in and certainly not the signing of Johnstone
Let’s wait and see .
If youre going to get told off, get told off for doing something not for doing nothing..

I loved Mowbray and the football was excellent. Let’s not kid ourselves though, this squad is not nearly as good as the one Tony had last time. We must recruit a new guy come what may. I really do not want us to continue with the current threesome. I’m not being disrespectful to them but just don’t think there’s a head coach amongst them.

Would also be happy if Mowbray returned. My favourite Albion manager in my time watching us (30years), has also done well since leaving

I am with this.

It’s an opportunity for both parties to determine whether it works.

I agree with Mowbray until the end of the season and it has nothing to do with sentimentality. His record is more impressive than the other candidates I've seen mentioned. I think he'll be determined to prove he is still up to it. By all accounts he became more pragmatic since his first stint here and I think he'll need to be with the issues he'll face with our squad. God knows what we plan to do in this window, however we all know he's not adverse to giving an unknown quantity from abroad a game, which fits in with the clubs transfer policy as far as I can see.

We could do a lot worse and I see no one better being touted.

With Mowbray at least we know what we’re getting ( a proven Championship manager) . With the continental managers that have been mentioned , how many have proved themselves in this country? CC when he came to us had proven experience in this country prior to joining us .

With Maja out now,  this further cements the common sense option of an overseer role for Mowbray. The promotion option, via playoffs at best , is most likely off the table now and there is no real urgent need  for a permanent appointment.
But having said that if we thrash Stoke on Saturday., then who knows.

Would be very happy to see Mowbray back on a deal until the end of the season...if his health allows it.  Tried, trusted and I'm sure would give us some entertaining football in what looks to be a near write off of a season.

Would also be useful to have someone with his experience taking a look at the academy and potentially nurture any talent which is going to be a must for us moving forward given our financial status.

Mowbray on a deal would be ok, makes a mockery of our search if any of the ITK were correct and he was not one of the final three.

He makes it clear in the interview he won't commit to anything til he gets the all-clear - if he does - which from what he said will be in two weeks.

My preferred candidates in the following order:

Graham Potter
Tony Mowbray – Short term contract until end of season
Steve Cooper

This was my post from December 25th: If he gets the all-clear, I’d offer him a rolling contract that would be renewed at the end of the season, assuming the season goes well and his health remains stable. I believe he’s a good person and a solid coach—there’s nothing more he needs to prove, other than regarding his health. In my opinion, it’s Andrew Nestor who needs to prove his worth and demonstrate his eye for talent.

If Mowbray is up to it health-wise then it has to be him, best candidate by a mile.

Also think our playoff chances are quite significantly impacted by the Maja injury which takes some pressure off rushing into any managerial decision. So not against the interim team continuing for a bit longer if Mowbray needs more time, would rather that than end up with a rushed perm appointment who nobody is that sold on.
