His track record isn't good enough imo.

Mr Baggies is good on transfers, no idea what quality his other info is like , guess we will find out soon enough!

Used to love signing him on Championship manager back in the day. No idea about him as a head coach though

Talkwba/Dood etc re-tweeting the post from a few days ago where they said the club have a meeting scheduled with a potential manager but they didn't know name.

Not hearing any names more exciting than our acting coaches. Unless something astounding comes along I'd say stay put for the rest of this season and let them have a crack at it.

If we got near enough £3m for CC's departure let's invest it where we need it, on the pitch.

No, no, no, no, no.

It’s not the answer. It’s never the answer. We need to learn from past mistakes

Won the League and Cup double with Young Boys in Switzerland before it went downhill. Definitely an interesting left-field name!

Club with vacant manager position holds meeting with potential manager shocker! I actually think Dood is well respected ITK. He was on the Albion analysis podcast last summer and came across well. I’m not on twitter so rely on re-posts on here from others!

Of the 11 managerial changes in the championship and premier league this season, only one took more than a couple of weeks (Lampard to Coventry, which took 21 days to be confirmed). There's really no reason for this to drag out beyond the start of next week if we have been diligent behind the scenes.

It's not a good look for the new ownership if we're letting this drag out beyond next week, it will seem like a continuing lack of organisation behind the scenes. Naturally we do not want to make the wrong decision but equally its been a strong possibility all season that Corberan would leave and we should have had target lists ready to go.

Wicky got sacked for going out in a cup game, only being 1 point clear at the top of the table and being eliminated from Europa league by Sporting Lisbon!

I disagree.  An extra week or two to land the best person available is neither here nor there

Raphael Wicky is a new name in the bookies odds apparently.  Not saying it means anything

Ahaaaa. So that's who it is. Saw his image doing the rounds on a couple of social media accounts yesterday. Nice to put a name to the face.

Unless we are waiting for people to be sacked then we should already have known and contacted our preferred managers because this should have all been prepared for long before Corberan happened.

Last time we took a long time to hunt for someone mid season it lead to us relying on Shan, and the time before that it was Pepe Mel.

I wouldn't give him more than an 18 month contract, but not really convinced by him as if he was great why has nobody else gone for him given his recent success.

Wicky looks to me to be the best of the names so far. I'm sure if he were appointed we'd be ticking over nicely before going on a roll.

Interesting analysis of Wicky's tactics
(Quite a long read)

Wow a manager that favours two up top on a constant basis…………unheard of in the modern game mostly. Interesting development if true.

I've been looking at our former full back Carl Hoefkens' record as manager. He's currently 10th in the Dutch Eredivisie managing NAC Breda, which is quite a respectable record, and they even beat Ajax this season. Before that he managed Club Brugge and got them to the knock-out stage of the Champions League. He later got fired by Brugge , but Standard Liege took him on, which is obviously another big job in Belgium. I rather lost track of him in Belgium, but I watch Dutch highlights and he seems able to motivate his team, though they seem to pick up a few red cards.
What's interesting is the Albion connection, so he would know the set up here and communication wouldn't be a problem.

Oh my Wicky installed as evens favourite on entering the market and everybody out at 9/4 or longer. In betting terms that is significant somebody has lumped on Wicky.

I think this might be a live one and as such worth digging into a little bit more.

Has managed in the Champions League so probably okay for a work permit.

A success at Young Boys and Basel who are 2 of the biggest clubs in Switzerland and as such it is to be expected. The only time he managed outside of Switzerland was at Chicago Fire in the MLS, which wasn't exactly a triumph.

However his relative failure in Chicago needs to be set in the context of the Fire who might be better named Chicago barely alight nobody succeeds there.

Played 4-4-2 at Young Boys but experimented with a few different set ups at Basel.

This could be the left field appointment that many have suspected would emerge.
