Think I’d rather Schumacher than Eustace

Taking 2 weeks to appoint Eustace or Schumacher would be disappointing.

Neither of those 2 are good enough for WBA

I don't really want either, but Schumacher is preferable imo, as he's free and Eustace will want a long contract and compo will need to be paid for him.

If it is Schumacher, I hope they don't give him more than a 18 month contract.

Less concerned about contract length and more so as to whether he has the ability to get us the approx 35 points needed for playoffs and the ability to tactically overcome 2 other playoff teams over 3 matches.

Not a chance that a young manager comes on less than a 2.5 year contract

Is this one of the ITK posters that embarrassed themselves over Luke "Interview Tomorrow" Williams?

Eustace has done a good job at his last two clubs is probably a little bit more pragmatic and as such better equipped to work with whatever squad he may inherit.

Schumacher might be a little less flexible tactically and it might need a summer window to get a squad together that works. He does have a preference for 3 at the back and that would present a few selection issues. He also "failed" at Stoke. Everybody fails at Stoke so that shouldn't be held against him.

Whatever I'm not going to get exercised over the latest piece of mud an ITK has thrown at the wall.

i’m not convinced we have any great itk now. club is tightening its information. Like mud throw currently i found tweeted moments before elsewhere. Lets be honestthe current links should all be linked and inthe running.

sheilens post certainly feels a coded message.

I'd rather keep the current set up IF it means we don't end up being forced to sell our best players, Maja in particular, the best striker we have had in a good while.
We are heading into a bit of a break now, the FA cup is a sideshow that we should treat as such to get some rest in some tired legs.
Maybe a left field appoint will materialism, but at the moment, I'm content with the management structure and it looks like the players are as well.

I don’t think it is. I seem to remember this particular poster on X popping up and being incredibly accurate in summer.

Out of the two I’m definitely more intrigued by Schumacher but if he’s stuck to a back 3 idea I don’t like how that works with our squad.

I don’t know why but Heitinga is the one that excites me at this point, wasn’t the case before but maybe it’s the idea of a step into the unknown and watching Liverpool has been very impressive this season. Couldn’t blame him though if he fancies lifting the trophy or maybe even more before heading off on his own, would probably land him a bigger job.

Mr Baggies is a separate individual to Dood etc.  He only tweets during transfer windows.

These the first comments he's made on the manager situation.

Think he got 4 out of 5 signings right so not perfect but was generally good with transfer news

I think if any of the more obvious or visible candidates (most of what we see on news reels/SM is nonsense) were in the frame, then we should have seen some movement by now, however I could be wrong of course.
I believe/feel that the new owners are more intersted in a consolidated approach to this appointment. I do not think that they are looking at this as a job replacement, but more of a project involving all aspects of the development of the club, with the first team the top of a pyramid with a very specific aim of getting us to the PL. Therefore having the right team, including the head coach is critical
I am not saying that this thinking is unique, it is just seems to fit the rhetoric of the new owners, and frankly is a more realistic approoach if the club as whole is to advance. I am equally sure that they are working on candidature as we speak. So expect firm news anytime from 10;00 am today up until the end of January, as I imagine that at least some of the comings and goings of playing staff are already in motion/identified (I accept that most incomings would like to know who the head coach is before moving, so over to you Mr. Nestor).

NB. Though not the role of the HC, the Stadium Capacity must be part of the project

Brunt / Abella excites me as much as any of the candidates on the list if Scouse Jonny is a no -go to be honest.
As long as they keep us in touch of the play -offs we can wait it out and get the right, long-term candidate.
The Bikul guys seem to have their respective heads screwed on, I don't think they will rush anything.

You could say that for pretty much all of our poll list. Heitenga , Eustace,Ljinders, Williams  possibly Carsley would be the only ones where time would be eaten up with negotiations over compo.

It still beggars belief that we appointed him. In fact I go back and read the Alan Irvine thread sometimes when I want to make myself angry.

And if he isn't up to it after being appointed you wouldn't care if we had given him an 18 month contract or a 4 year contract given our financial predicament?

Fair comment. But i’m pretty sure head coaches are appointed on relatively short contracts these days anyway.

Mr Baggies update

🚨 Exclusive 🚨
I understand WBA have held talks with Pep Lijnders regarding the vacant position. Contact has been made, nothing imminent at this point, expect more updates over the next couple of days. #WBA
