The stats don't lie.

Just out of interest I thought I would look at the Championships top scorers. We don't have anyone in the top 20. Personally feel should we make it to the Premier League we will struggle badly.

we also have the joint 2nd highest number of goalscorers with 17, one behind Sheffield Wednesday. and the 2nd highest Goals scored with 60. Brentford have 65 from 12 goalscorers but only 4 players have 5 or more goals (we have 7).

I'd also point out that there is 1 goal between Hal in 27th and Benrahma in 18th (whose played 3 more games), in fact 22nd to 27th have all got 10 goals, its remarkably dense with something like 6 goals from 3rd to 21st.

Yes stats lie. We haven't scored for 4 games and we are still the leagues 2nd highest scorers.

On a per 90 minutes basis Austin is the 5th best scorer ahead of Olly Watkins. The problem is Austin can't play in anything other than 20 minute bursts.

Strikers yes love them but the 20 goal a season striker is just a bad way of thinking about football. We didn't lose to Brentford because Olly Watkins is better than our strikers we lost because we failed to carve out one cast iron chance for anybody unlike Brentford.

The first goal was very important. They had too much energy and drive, way more than we did anyway and when you couple that with Phillips, Gibbs and Hegazi who don't have the concentration and heart to defend properly it wasn't much of a surprise to see them score first. I'd have still liked to see Austin get 20 minutes in the second half as he's the best we have at attacking crosses and Brentford had dug-in leaving no space behind them.

I saw one team giving it a real go because they have to, and one who were just biding time until it happens.
The psychology was all wrong IMO, I honestly believe some of ours are already spending the increased wages

Granted Phillips was cack and has been for a while but Hegazi and Gibbs played no worse than anyone else. Hegazi was not at fault for goal with Phillips failing to track back with player and Semi putting in a weak block which deflected ball into forwards path.
