West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Uros Racic joins on loan
« on: September 04, 2024, 11:32:32 AM »
I honestly think that we're a good club to play for. When the fans appreciate the player the crowd makes it known and really backs them.
I'm sure I've seen comments that of all the (english) clubs he played for, Lukaku enjoyed his time with us the most as well.

so why do our decent youth players leave as soon as the opportunity arises?

All this selling of players away from the so called wishes of CC! only adds to his future pedigree, if he gets a tune out of the remaining players he will be touted by Prem sides..
we have to get real - we are not in a position to stop players being sold, whoever they are!
we need to stop being so negative and get behind the team and not criticising everything that goes wrong after all we could be Reading!!

Question...if Corberan walks at the end of the season like he did at Huddersfield now he has signed a 4 year deal, does he have to pay us the 3 years left on his unused contract?

i cannot believe that whoever scouted him said that he was worth 8 million quid or even worth taking a chance on!

His words are saying all the right things at the moment & long may it continue! Hopefully they come back refreshed and full of ideas to continue our push away from the relegation zone.

Don't like games in hand, points in the bag is what we need

I would suggest you give Grant's wikepidia profile a look, his reputation is based on one good season at Huddersfield.
He's doing his best, but he's just not very good.
He is definitely one of the acqisitions, someone should have said "are you sure", & especially with the formatting of the transfer deal. There is no way we should have paid a £15 million transfer fee for KG, & certainly not over a 6 year period.
i was always worried about him as we were the only team trying to buy him, normally other sides are sniffing around as well as us, but there was no one!

as said before in the above threads --- we would need 2 points per game just to hit 70 points and would think that 80 something would be needed at the minimum.. and i cannot see us achieving that

The way I've been looking at this possibility is that if we get relegated, we take a new approach.
We keep the manager and give him a chance of ripping up this excuse of a football squad.
Let him keep what he wants and let him bring in the players that he needs.
We can sell some of the names that don't want to stay and get rid of the hangers on that have put us in this position.
We've been through managers like nobodies business and the players keep getting away with it, lets try another approach.
Only downside to relegation is a severe financial hit.

Hooray someone with some common sense at last.. i have been saying all along that we need to stop sacking the manager and sort out the main problems in the dressing room.
they are the poison and seem to think they are bullet proof and don't need to worry as their will be another manager along soon. i will perform for a dozen games and then slip back into my comfort zone again... rinse and repeat

well 40 of us out of 350 who voted want him - perhaps after 3 months we should ask again!

We need to stick with the guy even if he takes us down... let him weed the rubbish out and rebuild a complete team.  changing managers every 6 months is part of the problem of lethargic players with the can't be ar*ed attitude.
Every new manager that appears has to asses the squad he has inherited which takes time and by the time he works out which ones won't play for him! we sack.

we have no devine right to stay in this division as Sunderland and Sheff Wed and Portsmouth have seen - size does not matter

Let me guess, is that from Plymouth fans with short memories?

I say that because Lowe has taken his strong defensive ethos , without Schumacher being there to be the wind beneath his wings, to Preston. Also, Schumacher embarrassingly lost the last game of the season 5 nil at home to mk dons to miss out on the league one play offs and they had been in po positions for the majority of the season.

Imo that isn't the kind of record that earns you our job and if given the choice I know I would choose Lowe over Schumacher.

and that is the point i have been trying to make all along - Ryan Lowe it was his team

Steven Schumacher is not the answer we need, he may be up and coming but he inherited a team built by Ryan Lowe at Plymouth, if he comes and inherits this lot he will be sacked within 6 months and we will be back to square one again!

Schumacher is really only getting a tune out of Ryan Lowe's side and was the number 2 before he left for PNE, Ryan built it, so unless he can build a side from scratch - he has yet to show it

Exeter City have been approached by Rotherham to release Matt Taylor, if he is good enough for them! then surely worth a look for us?

as usual we are heaping pressure on 1 player - we never give them time to bed in and start to feel there feet.  i would love him to the bargain of the 10 years for us, but please give him room to succeed.

Bruce may not be everyone's cup of tea, but i think he is doing OK when you consider the rubbish he was left with and where we are now!  too many people keep pushing for him to be sacked - Why? they have short memories of what we have had in the past. yes we have had some good managers - but they are far outweighed by the bad managers.
if we sacked him - we are really back to square one again.... i think we are playing really well at the moment, in fact the best i have seen for a long while.

We need to give time to whoever sits in the big chair, not 6 months and sack him! if we give a 3 year contract - then 3 years need to run. if we finish 15th next year, then so be it! unless we get relegated of course! leave the man to build.

Steve Clarke, Kilmarnock Manager has been named Manager of the Year in Scotland.

He always said he had unfinished business at West Brom, worth a shout do you think?

For me, Jokanovic

would take Clarke in a Heartbeat, very unlucky to be sacked last time.

We need to get over the loss of Barnes, he was never ours to keep! always a chance with any loan player- that if they are good! parent club would recall them!
