Although I agree with your irony, the one thing I do think has been a little unfair is we are playing second again and yet again on Saturday as Brentford are on at 12.30. We seem to be constantly playing second which I don’t think is totally fair

Leeds could say the same about us. We're on before them every game

I can see us hammering Derby today.  Theres a huge disparity between the 2 teams in quality.  Who would get in Albions team apart from Rooney?  I think Wayne will be good for 60mins and when we bring on the calvary about that time we'll overwhelm them.  Bringing on Robinson and Diangana as a sub is unreal.

It's not about what their players would bring to our team it's about what their players bring to theirs.

Different squads, different set ups.

I’m a little more hopeful having read the piece the E&S did interviewing 2 of their fans, they both mentioned they aren’t the best at the back and can be had with pace. We were certainly zipping the ball around with speed at the weekend, I think Austin’s coming into some form as well his touch on his chest for his goal at the weekend was a brilliant bit of play hopefully he goes on a scoring run until the end of the season.

I get more nervous with each post I read! I think it will be tough for sure but we have the quality. I think the biggest dilemma Slav has is whether to start with Diangana or not. He was so damned good when he came on as sub on Sunday. Need to attack them from the off. If so I am confident they will crack.

We need to be on it from the start tonight. Derby are the form team in the division. Massive game as they all are now, need to keep that 5 point gap.

Rooney is yesterday guys.
A free kick specialist only, what does bother me a little is giving away stupid free kicks around the box, hopefully our goalie plays out of his skin tonight.
I fully expect a 2-0 to us without much fuss, routine.

While Derby have had a good run since lockdown ended they are not the form team of the Championship - that honour belongs to Brentford with six wins on the bounce.

Derby are something of a bogey-team against us - someone said above they've won most games in recent years. 7-1 I think was mentioned. Hope that bogey is put to the sword tonight and we thump them. Weather could be an influence as there is a lot of rain forecast and our 'Magician' may not perform as well on a cold grey rainy night at The Shrine.

After his performance as sub against Hull, Slav has a dilemma in whether to start Grady Diangana. Not sure what I would do!

5 minutes.

Please don't bottle team selection Slav. Keep the faith with the lads from the last 2 games barring injury/suspension.

Then it's high time we did something about that bogey.

Pick, roll, flick, goal..... over and over again until they've had a good snotting.

Mmmm not surprised at Livermore coming in, I think he’s gone 4-2-3-1 to exploit Rooneys lack of legs in midfield. It’l be key getting the ball into the magic man and hoping he has 10 yards of space to run into with Grady & Kamil running in behind, if we get it right then we’re going to cause them all sorts of problems, it’s the getting it right bit that worries me and we start playing the sideways nonsense we saw against Brentford & Blues.

Looks like hes gone 4231 but lets see how we line up. I'm a 433 man as you know and usually we are better that way but I can see the merit in Pereira buzzing around a deep sitting Rooney. It could be that we remain 433 with Pereira left side of the midfield three.

I am prepared to see how we set up before I judge.

Ajayi and Gibbs are forced changes, are they not? Can't really help them being replaced.

Wouldn't have put Livermore back in though. If he insists on playing Pereiraa/Diangana/Grosicki across the middle, would have preferred Krov to replace Harper.

Guess he's picked Livermore to sit on Rooney. That's all I can think of.

Personally haven't got a problem with how we're setting up today...
It's no coincidence  that since Phillips has been dropped we have looked much more dangerous going forward - regardless of changing from 4231 to 433.
I think with the players in the starting 11 now (Grosicki, Pereira, Diangana & Austin) we will have no issues creating chances - regardless of the formation

I'd be making a couple of changes for this.

Bond/Palmer (Rooney's set pieces will be far more dangerous than todays)

O'Shea
Ajayi
Bartley
Gibbs (Townsend if not recovered)

Pereira
Livermore  :o
Brunt

Grosicki
Austin
Diangana

subs. Other keeper, Townsend (Peltier), Furlong, Sawyers, Krovinović, Robinson, Harper, Zohore, Robson-Kanu.

He's literally picked this team except Sawyers instead of Brunt (and Johnstone, who was never going to get dropped)

Big Dave the pundit on Sky and of course he’s not biased!
With Krov and Robinson to come off the bench after 60 mins and Rooney knackered, our pace will show.
