Not sure where you got that figure from but from counting the seats on the stadium plan there are 2.466 tickets remaining.
Nevertheless, it's an encouraging figure given that we've sold over 20,900 already with still well over a week to go until the game.
I would fully expect Leeds to sell out of their allocation given their huge support.
We surely must be looking at 25,000 plus.

Very true, and at £20 per ticket it's even £4 cheaper than their official coaches are charging. Given tickets for this fixture have been on general sale for the last couple of days it could prove interesting to see how may Leeds supporters there are in the home stands.
This will be a good away day for Leeds. Top of the table (ish) clash against a side they haven't played for a few years, and given the later kick off there's more time for tots with unofficial coaches/mini buses landing in and around places such as Atherstone and Sutton Coldfield en route.
That's before we get to those travelling down by train. Best Fare Finder currently has tickets on sale from Leeds to New St at about £40 return, this would have been a fair bit cheaper when the fixture was originally re arranged too.
The Wildlings are coming (courtesy of Game of Thrones and the Small Heath Alliance forum ;D ), what could possibly go wrong?
-
Don't know how we are selling these tickets but if there are seats available it wouldn't surprise me if there will be more than a few Leeds getting tickets in our end.

Amazed that this isn't a cat C (policing) fixture

General sale, no booking history required.

Indeed. Could be iffy, Leeds really don't like us one jot.
-
Really? I wonder why. 🤔
-
I understand Leeds have been given a ticket allocation of 2,600 rather than the usual 2,700 odd. Not sure of the reason for that but there will be one.
-

Rumours going around that Leeds fans ( numbers ranging from 50 to 200 ) have tickets in the home ends.

Wider segregation netting?

21,200 sold so far in home areas. Exactly 2,200 remaining.

Moore s got a good week to organise his defence and midfield to nullify Leeds attacking threat. Could he change personal and Shape?

As Captain mainwaring said..."Stupid boy". ::)
-
Providing all are fit.
4-3-2-1 (or 4-3-3 or 4-5-1 however you want to describe it):
Johnstone
Mears Dawson Hegazi Gibbs
Livermore Barry Field
Phillips Barnes
Gayle
Subs: Myhill, Bartley, Morrison, Sako, Rodriguez, Burke, Edwards.

More than 21,300 sold. 2,056 remaining.

I'm hoping I get the cal to play on the left for Leeds 😀
-
I'm hoping I get the cal to play on the left for Leeds 😀
We don't have another right back. Only other options are moving Dawson across and bringing in Bartley or playing Tosin there. :(
-
Very worried about this one. I have lived in Leeds for 31 years, my eldest daughter's a season ticket holder at Elland Road and I have seen Leeds twice this season and believe they are the best side in the league. If we set up the way we have all season this will be utter carnage even worse than the Derby debacle.
-
Leeds have just beaten Wigan away. I think we're in for a roasting.
Personally, I'd give DM about 6 games to turn it around. Not saying they all have to be won, but I want to see a turn around in results, personnel and style. The formation isn't working, neither are some of the players like Mears, Kanu and Bartley.
-
We cant play Mears thats is pretty obvious I think, Tosin should play there because I dont want to see Bartley in the team.
-
So they do the high press, are playing well, and have former Albion youngsters Roofe and Roberts who were never given a chance by the club.
Yeah, we all know how this one's going to go.
-
I would give Bartley a chance but in a flat back four.Sometimes players play out of their skins against former clubs.
-
Johnstone
Dawson
Hegazi
Bartley
Gibbs
Mozza
Livermore
Phillips
Barnes
Brunt
Gayle
Myhill, Mears, Townsend, Field, Burke, J Rod, Hoolahan
-

might not be a comment many would agree with but I'm starting to think none of our players (including Bartley) are necessary poor players but that quite often they are uncomfortable in particular positions or systems. I have always rated Hegazi and Dawson highly in previous seasons and I'm sure that Bartley is a more than adequate Championship defender playing in a formation that he's used to.
-
>:( 0-3 if we revert to a 4-4-2-1 System. 0-6 if we play 3 at the back with the over 35's in midfield.
I am not saying anymore. I will leave this call to Big Dave....who I really want to see succeed. ;)
-
Whatever the system it's difficult to see us picking up points in this game.
0-2

Think the ref will have something to say if we play 4-4-2-1.
Whatever the score , we need a performance from the team first and foremost the same passion, desire, never say die attitude that we showed in the games against Man Utd, Liverpool, Spurs and Newcastle last season. Oh and some creativity.

not asking for much are your Hull....... ;)
-
Bartley played as part of a back four in our first 3 games and looked poor then too as did Hegazi.
It's not the formation that's the issue it's the players, Hegazi has carried on his poor form from the World Cup, Dawson has looked uninterested the last couple of games, Adabarioyo has looked okay at times but isn't played consistently enough, Mears has looked terrible as a wing back but we've not seen him play in his actual position as a Right back.Townsend's been hit and miss, mostly hit though but only plays if Gibbs is not fit. Out of all the defenders only Gibbs has been mostly good.
-
not asking for much are your Hull....... ;)
You should see my Christmas list!
-
Think we will play poorly but win this one. 2-1
-
The only thing that can be guaranteed is that our manager will be tactically outclassed as ever, whether our superior players can get a result in spite of him remains to be seen.

Commentary on Talksport 2

-
0-3 Leeds.
Roofe will score.
Think they will have too much for us.
-
0-3.
-
Back to basics, let defenders defend and attackers attack.
Johnstone
Dawson
Hegazi
Tosin
Gibbs / Townsend
Barry
Morrison/Livermore
Phillips
Barnes
Sako/Rodriguez
Gayle/Rodriguez
Gives us the option to remain solid at the back, 2 'holding' players who can look to control the game, letting the 3 infront of them support the striker and look to create some chances.
-
Johnstone
Dawson
Adarabiyio
Hegazi
Gibbs
Livermore
Field
Phillips
Barnes
Sako
Gayle
Subs: Myhill, Bartley, Townsend, Brunt, Edwards, Morrison, Rodriguez
-
If we show signs of learning from the last couple of weeks, we might get a draw or sneak a win.
If we go out and play exactly the same tactics and formation, they'll smash us like Derby did.
0-3
-
Roberts sold for Sturridges wages :o
-
Leeds will open us up at will see a spanking here 0-5
-
Gibbs, Barry and Gayle all likely to be fit for Leeds.

Often when you are on a bad run a dramatic change can get you out of it be it a tactical or personnel change - anyone remember Hodgson bringing in Meite for a game at Stoke away? With that in mind, I think I would switch to a back 4 this weekend.
Johnstone
Dawson
Bartley
Hegazi
Gibbs
Morrison
Livermore
Phillips
Hoolahan
Barnes
Gayle
Myhill, Mears, Field, Sako, Rodriguez, Burke, Robson-Kanu
-
Put names of all fit squad members in a hat and draw them out. Oh by the way miss out Dawson ,Hegazi, Bartley, Mears, Brunt, Hoolahan, Morrison, Robson-Kanu, Rodriguez, and Barry
and try something like this
Johnstone
Edwards Tosin Field Gibbs
Phillips Livermore Harper Sako
Barnes
Gayle
Subs Myhill, Burke, Townsend, Howkins and Leko + 1 volunteer from each of Smethwick and Brummie
Sounds a bit extreme you say? Well can they really do any worse, even collectively, than those left out?
Who the bloody hell has been responsible for assembling that lot and believing that they are the basis for a team capable of getting us back into the Prem ? >:( :-[ :'(

I 100% agree with this
-
I 100% agree with this
Yup, works for me, maybe Feild for Livermore, but would think that is as good as it gets given personnel, and give them a few games to gel.
-
I am no fan of Livermore, but with the way Leeds play I was looking to stick someone in the middle of the park who at least has a motor to get about and challenge their high intensity.
-
21,600 sold now. 1,794 remaining.
Leeds allocation unsurprisingly sold out.
-
Fire with fire
We know we can't defend so why try
For me I'd have
Edwards
Phillips
Gibbs
Barnes
Sako
Gayle
All on the pitch, we need a change, go for it
-
We lose this the fans will turn. Moore needs a performance and a win.. Just can't see it at the moment.
-
We lose this the fans will turn. Moore needs a performance and a win.. Just can't see it at the moment.
He's needed a performance for the most the season. At least the last month.
Shocking tactics and away form haven't done him any favours as Leeds is really a must win (if we had won at hull I would have taken them point)
I think without change in formation tactics we will get blown away Saturday
-
Time for a shake up I'd go
Bond
Dawson. Hegazi. Tosin. Gibbs
Burke. Barry. Morrison. Barnes
Phillips
Gayle
Subs myhill. Townsend. Jrod. Sako. Hoolihan. Edwards. Livermore
Pace out wide on both flanks and I think Phillips could thrive running centrally.
I know he has played up top for Scotland but he would have the option of going either way centrally.
-
I tend to agree about changing the goalkeeper...I have been concerned about his command of the area since day one. Myhill is also a "shot stopper" who doesn't really inspire.
-
Darren has to swallow his pride and change the players and the set up.
-
Roberts sold for Sturridges wages :o
Not strictly true.
He was sold because he refused to sign the new contracts which were offered to him.
That the money went down the plug hole is indeed a shame though.
-
Anyway 0-3 leeds
-
Johnstone
Phillips
Dawson
Tosin
Hegazi
Gibbs
Barnes
Morrison
Livermore
Sako
Gayle

My very best mate is a Leeds supporter. It's going to be a horrible pub trip for me.

That's the one for me too. A concern about Livermore and Barry lacking any kind of pace but, given what we have, that works for me.
-
Afternoon All. Greetings from Leeds. What’s everyone expecting saturday. Missed out on a ticket so having to sit with you lot. Please behave. Have to say I haven’t took much notice of your lot this season but just had a look at your squad and it is something else! I know it’s early and your in the mix so are you expecting to kickon and get straight back up . We are dodgy on set peices but playing some good football for the first time in probably 7/8 years . I expect goals from both sides and hope the little fella Gayle doesn’t make it :-[
-
Our squad is not great. Totally out balanced and asking the players we have got to play a system totally unsuited to them. I think you will overun us and win 3 or 4 nil
-
Over 21,850 sold now. 1,538 remaining.
-
The only thing that can be guaranteed is that our manager will be tactically outclassed as ever, whether our superior players can get a result in spite of him remains to be seen.
Are you suggesting that whatever centre midfield combination Leeds put out will be inferior to ours? Are you suggesting that HRK and JRod can be superior to Roofe, Roberts or Bamford?
I am completely in agreement that Darren Moore needs to make changes and show his worth and i have no blind faith. However I just don't see our players being better than others anywhere but on paper - and we all know the game is played on grass. Experience and caps count for nothing at this level if they don't come with pace, legs and energy.
I thought about doing a player by player comparison just out of curiosity....but nah.
-
The centre mid 2 will still be over run as per usual, but there shouldn't be as much space behind for their players run into. Maybe go with Barry as the holding mid so he doesn't have as much ground to cover and put Livermore and Field in front to cover the yards between them. Leaves us with Phillips and Barnes given license to support our main striker. Barnes is no longer in the 10 role but drifting in from wide?
-
My very best mate is a Leeds supporter. It's going to be a horrible pub trip for me.
You clearly need to broaden your social circle.
Pop into any pub in West Brom and offer free drinks all round.
I absolutely guarantee you'll find at least one person's company more deserving of your time.
Probably ;D .
-
If we continue to use defenders who are defenders and not passers then they are going to embarrass us!!
-
No way have we sold that many, it’s leeds fans, they’ll be loads of them in our end. This could end badly
-
:D 4-3-2-1 formation....need 3 midfielders for this one, otherwise we will be overrun by Leeds fast movement.
So Johnstone
Dawson
Bartley
Hegazi
Gibbs
Barry
Livermore
Field
Phillips
Barnes
Gayle
-
If we get Gayle, Barry & Gibbs back then it will be a huge lift.
-
Referee: Lee Mason
Assistant Referee: Stuart Burt
Assistant Referee: Neil Davies
Fourth Official: Stephen Martin
-
If we get Gayle, Barry & Gibbs back then it will be a huge lift.
Think this is key. We need a boost.
All 3 would be good but Gayle most importantly, think it would give not only the fans a lift but also the likes of Barnes, Phillips and Rodriguez.
If not then best we can hope for is a draw unfortunately.
-
Given the tripe that I saw served up at Hull then I think we're in for a real hiding.... Think Leeds will win at a 3-0 canter
-
Heart ruling the head here.... 2-1 to Albion
-
Just over 25k will be there Saturday I reckon

A lot of despondency at the moment and rightly so. But this is the Albion, who I have followed for over 60 years, and I’ve learned that, when you least expect it, they some how manage to deliver. Hoping this theory is proven to be right again on Saturday evening

2-0
Clean sheet 😎
-
1 4. Last consolation goal for us
-
I'm going to say 3-1 to Leeds. I reckon they'll hammer us. Hope the boys prove me wrong though!
-
22,050 plus tickets sold. 1,338 remaining.

-
4-0 baggies
-
1325 tickets remaining as of 09:15.
-
Not sure what I expect from this one. We have superior players, they have a superior manager. I can see a repeat of the Derby game whereby our weaknesses are painfully exposed but I would hope that Darren will change the system in accordance with what I have been calling for for weeks now. If he doesn't, the man is more stupid than even I believe him to be.
2-2.
-
I am expecting a damn good shoeing.........please prove me wrong.
-
You can now only buy tickets if you sign in. Looks like club have belatedly realised that it was a mistake having them on general sale.
-
Does this mean Lee Mason got relegated too?
-
1,228 remaining. 22,170 approx. sold.

21,600 sold now. 1,794 remaining.

. We sold out unfortunately within an hour of going on sale . That’s why we are in the home ends. I’m with a baggie though

22,300 odd sold. 1,085 remaining.
Attendance likely to be somewhere between 25,000 - 25,500.

Disappointing we couldn't shift the lot for this one.

Gayle is so pivotal to us that we really need him up front and fit - we look pretty average without him.
-
Gayle is so pivotal to us that we really need him up front and fit - we look pretty average without him.
Less than average.
-
Less than average.
... and certainly not pretty.
-
If it's the same formation played I'm going for a comprehensive 0-4 defeat.
-
We look average with him, we don’t score without him
-
i really hope im wrong, but i fear for us and can only see another defeat on the cards
-
If Gayle, Barnes and Phillips play well, we win. 3-2 Albion.
-
If Gayle, Gibbs are back, I can see us scoring a couple. Only question is whetehr Leeds score more. With a week to practice with a pretty much full squad, I think we can win.
-
Final update. 22,500 sold. Only 895 tickets remaining now.
-
We look average with him, we don’t score without him
A lot of adjectives could be used for how we've played this year with Gayle but I don't think average is one. Apart from the last few games without him we have been everything from exciting and electric to disastrous and calamitous to pick a few..and many others in between.
-
Truly hope that he changes formation today. Get 4 at the back, play one up front with 3 behind him and we have hope at least. Continue to play as we have done formation wise and I fear for us.
-
Don’t care what formation we play. I just want us to play with passion and determination. I want us winning tackles and fighting for every ball.
Come on Albion!
-
Kanu starts. :(
-
Gayle on the bench. He’s either fit to play or he’s not. We really need him today so start him. Sako is also on the bench.
-
HRK starting...beginning to think turning down a free ticket was a smart move.
-
Gayle on the bench. He’s either fit to play or he’s not. We really need him today so start him. Sako is also on the bench.
Sadly it doesn't work like that, we may be lucky to get 15 minutes from him.
I've just seen the line-up, looks like 3 at the back again so I think we will lose.
-
Oh well
-

I've just seen the line-up, looks like 3 at the back again so I think we will lose.
with HRK and Rodriguez both starting I would think it will be 4-4-2?
-
HRK starts...I give up with Darren
-
Lose today and we have a mini-crisis on our hands and with three at the back and Kanu up front I'm not confident.
-
Oh rubbish. How to deflate a whole stadium. Prove us wrong HRK.
-
Dreading going into work Monday this is going to be embarrassing.
-
I try not to be negative, but if the answer IS HRK....the question is wrong.
On the train to the Hawthorns and wondering if I should just stay on? Oh dear.
-
Clueless by Moore, think his days could be numbered.
-
Unless Phillips, Barnes and Morrison have absolute stormers we'll be battered.
-
I hate to be pessimistic but I just can't see us winning this and I'm going for a comprehensive 3-0 to Leeds.
-
Clueless by Moore, think his days could be numbered.
Season defining selection? Or just best of what's fit?
-
So we need defenders who don't defend ?
I thought we did.. ;D ;D ;D
-
Season defining selection? Or just best of what's fit?
For the life of me I can't see what HRK brings to the team why not give Burke a run out he's been scoring goals the kid must know he's wasting his time at this club.
-
Jesus H Christ. Home by half time?
-
For the life of me I can't see what HRK brings to the team why not give Burke a run out he's been scoring goals the kid must know he's wasting his time at this club.
So far this season....nowt. But Jrod has recently bought less than nowt. Quite a front two.
-
4-4-2
-
4-4-2 much more direct first 5.
-
Really?!?
-
Really?!?
Tosin RB. Dropping to a three when Gibbs pushes on.
-
Getting plenty of possession in midfield and top three are giving leeds back 3 problems
-
Solid with threat....so far.
-
The fans are certainly doing their bit and the players seem to be doing ok up to now . Coyb
-
Looking like we want a result from this. Started really well. Even HRK.
-
Playing well need to score on tip
-
I'm going to say it , we are battering these ! Just need a goal coya
-
We are playing really well and look sharp. Despite being on top the best two chances have falled to Leeds.
-
Much improved performance, nearly score 2 or even 3 goals.
-
Looking solid at the back with midfielders doing well and forwards giving them food for thought. Should be 1 up Tosh has to hit the target and jrod unlucky, Leeds are starting to get in to game last 10
-
4-4-2 Hitting it long, flick ons, pressing the ball, hitting the channels.....like putting on an old comfy jumper. Just a little part of me is missing the totally impractical new continental jumper i loved earlier this year. But it is winter!!
-
Decent first half hour then we tailed off a bit. Nevertheless, a huge improvement on the recent dross. Crowd excellent initially but dropped off too. Work those lungs please lads (and lasses).
-
Its not 4-4-2 its 4-3-3 with kanu and Barnes either side of rodriguez. Phillips livermore and Morrison in midfield.
-
Its not 4-4-2 its 4-3-3 with kanu and Barnes either side of rodriguez. Phillips livermore and Morrison in midfield.
It's that plus Abit of common Sense. When there's nothing on or were under pressure at the back we're going longer. This is probably our best performance of the season.
-
Its not 4-4-2 its 4-3-3 with kanu and Barnes either side of rodriguez. Phillips livermore and Morrison in midfield.
4-4-2 or 4-3-3 or mixture of both, the big difference is the number at the back and the fact we have barely played across the defence so far tonight. Players look more comfortable but the more I see the more I'm convinced that Gayle is the difference whatever the formation.
-

concur definitely our best performance so far COYB
-
Kanu scored?
-
Now then
-
HRK thankyou for proving me an ass!!
-
Get in kanuuuuuuuuuuuuuui
-
Some shaky play at the back then a great counterattack. Good play from Livermore to J-Rod, who does well then to Kanu for a good finish.
-
Get in you beauty!!!
-
Robson-Kanu scores :o
-
Leeds then hit on two attacks Tosin and Hegazi blocking them and Johnstone just saving a shot good performance COYB
-
Great ball HRK and Barnes shanks the glory shot. Good break.
-
HRK has been excellent tonight
-
Still too many hoofs from Johnstone. Play it out and keep it on the floor.
-
Fair play HRK. Cracking game and great goal.
-
Really need this win coya
-
2-0 Get In COYB
-
Phillips !!!
-
Get in Phillipsssssssssd
-
Great tackle and a great goal by Philips!!
2-0
-
Has our Defence Improved Jesus could have been 3 then COYB
-
Leeds danger man Saiz coming on shortly. Actually coming on now
-
Phollips has been different class tonight. I've also been very impressed by Toisin
-
Kanu off...Gayle on.
-
See this out boys, please. Please.
-

-
3-0 Barnes COYB Leeds look like us we look like them
-

-
Cheeky 4-0
-
4-0 Gayle COYB there keepers s**te
-
3-0 !!
Barnes
-
Gibbs off Mears on
-
No clean sheet >:(
-
Did we just let them score as we felt bad for them 4-1 bye clean sheet
-
Came after Mears came on hmmm
-
Phillips off Harper on
-
Final score WBA 4 - 1 Leeds
-
All over 4-1
-
We went at them and REALLY made a game, then our defence let them back in at the end.
-
Needed that lot more solid job done
-
Change of formation really worked. Must be retained going forward. A top quality performance from everyone.
-
I didn't expect that fair play to HRK by all accounts he had a good game and I'm glad we altered formation to continue with three at the back would have shown a lack of nous.
-
We went at them and REALLY made a game, then our defence let them back in at the end.
Game was done and we eased off and switched off a bit. Nothing to bother about.
-
Fantastic performance and result. Pretty obvious we defend better with a back four and look more fluid with Brunt in the stands and Morrison alongside Livermore. Surprised by how well HRK played, took his goal really well. Shame about the dive. Much more like it, hopefully the team can get on a run as we need to break back into the top two. We have the tools. Everyone played very well. Great team effort all round. Too much power for Leeds.
-
A lot of despondency at the moment and rightly so. But this is the Albion, who I have followed for over 60 years, and I’ve learned that, when you least expect it, they some how manage to deliver. Hoping this theory is proven to be right again on Saturday evening
4-1 Unpredictably predictable, typical Albion, you just have to love them
-
Get your humble pie here
Yes!!!!!!!!
-
We finally bog the five at the back and brunt off and win comfortably, who would have seen that coming...
-
Needed that, nasty gap at the top otherwise
-
We went at them and REALLY made a game, then our defence let them back in at the end.
let them back in at the end? Did I miss something then what was the final score 4-4? Thought not so how did we ket them back in? Unbelievable
-

The defence stopped running and conceded their clean sheet.
-

I don't think it's a magic formula I wish it was!
-
Won't go far wrong for the remainder of the season if we play the same system/players. Maybe just swap in Gayle to start for someone. Much better after making the simple changes that have been needed for a good while.
-
Crazy that we won 4-1 v Leeds and lost 1-4 v Derby when there wasn’t much difference between the sides in both matches. We took our chances and that was crucial.
-
4-0 baggies
Nearly 😄
-
Balance , balance all over the field.
Hope thats the end of the 3 .
Big shouts to all especially Jrod , Mozza who was great back there and even HRK .
-
Tremendous performances all round. Aside from the last minute or 2 , we were solid at the back, Livermore and the quitely effictive Morrison did well. Not sure if Philips was playing on the right of the 3 in midfield but he was everywhere and caused Leeds problems everytime he had hte ball. Great finish by HRK and a cheeky effort from Gayle.
I must say HRK is quite strong and stood up well back to goal, shame he then dived!
-

That's this league, I will go record now stating every single club in the top 6 at the end of the season ...will have been done by at least 4 goals at some point
-
Best team performance of the season by an absolute distance. Even at half time I was more pleased with that than anything else I’ve seen this season. Even if we had gone on to lose I’d have far more trust in that long term than what we have served so far.
Far better shape and looked much tighter at the back, although still room for improvement. Phillips MOTM, Rodriquez best game of the season, hegazi looked a good defender again, even HRK did well. With the quality in that side if we are decent in defence you can afford one or two having a quieter game, as there’s 4/5 possible game changers
Hopefully that puts to bed questions about the quality of our squad. Let’s not forget Leeds were top and we took them apart. Still have big doubt about Darren at the helm, but credit to him for changing the system.
Onwards and upwards... hopefully
-
Fantastic performance, great result, didn't even have our best 11 out.
All those calling for 4-3-3 bravo. Hegazii (motm) Dawson, Tosin and Gibbs all immense.
Barnes back to his best, even HRK had a good game, fair play to him.
Happy Baggie tonight, hope Darren gets the credit he deserves tonight, he changed in line with our thoughts and it paid off. Koudos to the big man.
-
4-3-3
No Bartley
No brunt
Keep this please Darren
-
Much improved performance from last few games.
It's good to see that Moore changes the system and it pays off.
Put Philips in the midfield to add some pace there. The 2nd goal showed his qualities, great tackle followed by a great goal.
We play more directly than before ,the front players did well when we have chances to play counter-attack.
Not a fan of HRK but he deserves a credit today.
Also congratulation for Harper, made his debut in championship.
The defense looked slightly better, just need more concentration towards the end.
Hopefully this win would get us back on track. Good day for every Albion fan. :)
-
Change of shape and tactics worked for us as we were able to pick them off.
Best game Phillips and Barnes have had for quite a while. But the whole team looked up for the game from the start and we're unlucky not to be ahead at half time.
The only blemish was to switch off at the end and not get the clean sheet. Shame we didn't get Harper on a few minutes earlier.
-
Couldn’t watch the game. Who played where in the midfield and front three? Was it a 442 or 443?
-
All round performance of the season
4 at the back looked more solid. cleared it when we needed to rather than trying to play out of defence and putting ourselves under pressure.
Playing 3 with Livermore Morrison and Phillips really worked, Phillips gave us the energy, Livermore sat and Morisson could pick out passes.
Special mention to HRK who most weeks get pelters but he was brilliant tonight
Very very happy Baggie tonight....well done Big Dave on making the required changes
-

4-3-3
Phillips Livermore Morrison in a 3
really worked for me
-
Just waiting to hear from a few😉
I will admit to not expecting that, brilliant turn out!!!!
-
Change of formation worked wonders. My heart sank when i saw HRK starting but to be fair he had a great game. Made a very good side look ordinary.
-
4-3-3

really worked for me
Thanks. Who played on which side in the front 3? HRK down the middle?
-
Really good performance today. Agree with johnny that even at half time it was our best performance even if the goals hadn't followed. With the quality we have up top we don't need to be stupid with the ball at the back and keep trying to play our way out. I think we had like 30% possession today but 20 shots and it didn't feel like that low a possession stat because of how direct we were.
Good to see Gibbs back, that's helped. HRK was great today as was all of the team. Tosin in particular looked excellent and Phillips ran the game for us.
Would have been nice for a clean sheet, just switched off but I thought the keeper should have done better. He didn't even dive - I just don't think he's that mobile.
-
Thanks. Who played on which side in the front 3? HRK down the middle?
J-Rod down the middle
HRK out wide right and Barnes wide left
although that was quite fluid with J-Rod drifting out wide at time
-
Quiet on here.
Thought we were fantastic.
-
Quiet on here.
Thought we were fantastic.
Be honest mate, we all feared the worst but the Big Man got it right, hope everyone can be just as big and admit he got it right.
-
I DID fear for the worst and had us down for 0-3 so glad to be made a fool ;D Changes we all asked for on different threads were made. 4-3-3 but fluid with the midfielders often going past the front three to press, which worked brilliantly second half. Potential weaknesses became threats; HRK very good all round, Tosin good at right back and a good target for goal kicks, Barnes as much a threat drifting in from wide as when he is playing a ten. Basically the players just looked more comfortable playing a more traditional formation and direct style and thought Dawson in particular looked delighted to just get back to defending. My concern was always how much threat we would have reverting to a more direct style but when the ball dropped we looked to go at them and in numbers..often having at least four players breaking into the box. Special mentions to HRK and Jrod who I had written off! I love to be proven wrong by a man in blue and white.
-
Really enjoyable night, and very pleased for Big Dave. My take home thoughts -
* Bartley signing was a mistake, we looked so much better without. Tosin is taking his opportunity and was outstanding in the air.
* Phillips won every 50/50 and is clearly playing for his manager it is great to see.
* Kanu played the role he was asked to do and took his chance very, very well. It’s great to hear our support back a player so vocally (before and after the goal) despite the reservations we have.
Special mentions -
* Gibbs positional sense is a level above. He is 5 seconds ahead of the game in this regard and in first half in particular was outstanding imo.
* Big Dave and his brave decisions. Well done!
A memorable night with some great goals - thank you Albion.
-
I feared the worst before this game as our system & formation so far this season, seemed to be perfect for the Leeds system & formation. Its great to see Darren Moore finally change the formation & this has to be the result of our season so far. Well done to to all.
-
Just to clean something up. We did NOT play 4-4-2 today it was clearly 4-3-3 as below:
Johnstone
Tosin Daws Hegazi Gibbs
Phillips Livermore Mozza
Kanu J Rod Barnes.
Let's make that clear because some people on the radio and on forums are wrong.
I'd like to say a big well done to Darren Moore. Some of us have been going on about 4-3-3 for ages. Finally this week he abandoned the 3-4-1-2 obviously against the wishes of Graeme Jones and gave us the system that most suits us. Boy did we look better for it.
I was a bit surprised to see Kanu start on the right of the three and Phillips (playing the role I'd advocated for Sam Field) but credit where it's due both were superb today.
For the first twenty five minutes we were easily the better team just lacked a goal. Leeds are a good team though, as good as anyone we've come up against this season and towards the end of the first half they came back into the game a bit more.
Second half once we got the goal we could afford to concede possession and wait for the breakaways. The 4-3-3 gives you the best of all worlds. You can play on the front foot, you can keep possession or you can play direct or retreat and play on the counter without losing your shape. That's exactly what we did. It also gives you a flexibility i.e. Barnes / Kanu swapped sides temporarily and Kanu scored - it asks defenders different questions, unsettles them. Their 'keeper had a nightmare for Phillips' goal but that's their problem not ours. Great finishes from Barnes and Gayle topped off by a country mile our most solid and complete performance of the season. Today we looked like a real football team.
A shame we didn't get the clean sheet, the boys deserved the clean sheet but in truth it was a bit of a "meh" moment when they got their goal.
Now, hopefully Darren will stick to this system. We can tamper with personnel a bit here and there, not a problem but today this was exactly what we've been waiting for.
-
Does this mean Lee Mason got relegated too?
After tonight, I could see why, he was dreadful.
-

Did it show as a dive on TV? From my position in the ES it looked like a pen.
-
I thought Leeds played some really tidy stuff today. Some lovely one touch and some of their movement caused us problems. Thank God we went to a back 4.
HRK was a clear dive. Let his leg drag.
Glad Gayle scored the back heel as it was a clear hand ball from the shot.
-
Change of formation, no Brunt, no Bartley and we look a much better team.
Tosin is going to be a good player in a few years, had another excellent game today. Phillips much better and Rodriguez possibly his best game for us.
-

Agree with everything except Rodriguez, still thought he was the sexiest link and the one who should make way for Gayle.
Harsh to criticise I know but it we can build on this we are back in contention

I dunno mate, J rod is much better looking than Gayle. ;D
-
HRK was virtually perfect today (No need for the dive), great team performance and fully deserved win.
-
I think it was down to Gayles hairdo...its much better....no coincidence we looked better ;D
-
Leeds got off light, could easily have been 6 or 7 goals for us today.
-
Attitude was amazing. . Well done lads you deserved it.
Keep going Dave.
-

They didn't show it close up, well not that I can remember. But the ref was quick to book him.
-
Be honest mate, we all feared the worst but the Big Man got it right, hope everyone can be just as big and admit he got it right.
Totally agree. I was fully expecting to watch the game from behind the sofa. But we were outstanding.
-
Tremendous result for us today, all played their part,Dave and his team and the fans.
Pity there manager didn't have the gonads to say that his team were outclassed by a better team,no respect there.
I noticed that some Leeds fans did say how well we played.
-
I thought we were absolutely brilliant and for me that stemmed from the defenders looking comfortable within a system for the first time this season. Bartley and Brunt should never get anywhere near our starting eleven again this season, I am just glad, as horrible as it sounds, that they were both injured for this one as I truly believe Darren would have started them both if they were available.
It is extremely frustrating for me that we have had to wait this long for him to play the system that suits the players we have, I and many others have been calling for it for a long time now yet our head coach has been oblivious up until now which is quite the concern.
Many have disagreed with me that we have the best squad in this division, but look at our bench today, Sako, Hoolahan, Barry, Gayle...it just shows how much strength we have in attacking areas. Keep the back four that started today for and we should romp this league.
I am just pleased we have finally put in a good all round performance for the first time this season. I thought we were superb and I was proud to be a Baggie for the first time in a while. Please do not start tinkering Darren.

On what basis was the change in formation against the wishes of Graeme Jones? It’s quite possible that they actually work as a team and agreed the change between them. So again, on what basis was this against the wishes of Graeme Jones?

To be fair to Leeds fans a lot of them on social media have said we are the best team they've played this season.
I didn't bother to tell them that we changed our system I just pretended we were always that good. 8) ;D

Graeme Jones stated in a Q&A session (with Harvey Barnes) earlier in the week that we wouldn't change from 3 at the back (something to do with the supporters club I think).
According to local radio there has been some "debate" between Moore and Jones this week and reading between the lines it would appear that Moore has pulled rank.
-
Well done team and management! ;D

No self respecting coach is going to sit in a forum and announce the specifics of a formation in my view. There’s no doubt in my mind that they would have agreed this as a management team.

As you wish. I don't really care as long as they come to the right conclusion lol. ;)
-
Thought we conceived and stuck to our game plan really well. Leeds are a good team and were right in this but once we got the first goal and the spaces open ed up, we were just too much.
Fair play to Big Dave for changing things. To surmise our problems so far this season: trying to play out from the back with defenders not that comfortable on the ball and a lack of legs in midfield. Well he dealt with these issues bu changing ths shape and style as well as different personnel. Dawson and Hegazi are solid and should be ahead of Bartley and Phillips in midfield actually looks inspired. It is poor however that we need to have him in there, we really should have a central midfielder with the attributes capable to play the role.
I know we've wanted changes prior to tonight's game but Big Dave's character is built on loyalty and trust, chopping and changing personnel and the style may have had a detrimental effect on morale. It's always easy for us as fans. Could things have changed sooner, sure, but the fact that he has addressed the issues that were present is a good sign and enough for me. Onwards and upwards.
-

Now that we agree on :D

EFL Quest highlights are saying we only had 28% possession???
I though we had much more than that
-

I must admit when I saw that stat straight after the game I was very surprised. Felt we had a lot more of the ball than that certainly, but it's what you do with that possession and tonight we certainly where, 20 shots I believe we had.
-
EFL Quest highlights are saying we only had 28% possession???
I though we had much more than that
We sucked Leeds in after we got the opener so I'd expect that accounts for the stats in most parts.
Possession is the one stat that means absolutely zilch in any case.
-
Been repeating the word 'amazing' for the last few hours.Really buzzing driving home.I can't remember last time I've seen Albion demolish a good side, as thoroughly as that. And completly deserved.
The big difference was the speed we got forward instead of the endless sideways and backwards passes. Probably surprised the Leeds manager as well. I thought Leeds just couldn't cope with Phillips and Barnes driving forward from midfield. Barnes has a helluva lot of pace. Both thoroughly deserved to get on scoresheet. As did HRK who ran his socks off. He's probably the best at playing traditional target man role at the club, if that's the way we are going to play. First time I've ever not wanted him to be subbed. As others have said, the back 4 looked a lot more comfortable playing in this formation. Wasn't bothered about conceding at the end, as the game was easily won by then.
I was surprised about the 28% possession statistic as well, but there's no way that was Pulis style football. Because when we attacked, we attacked as a complete team.
-
Agree with everything except Rodriguez, still thought he was the sexiest link and the one who should make way for Gayle.
Harsh to criticise I know but it we can build on this we are back in contention
Not sure about sexiest definately the weak link. HRK deserves to keep his spot in the starting line up.
We looked far better balanced today with the new shape. I wouldn't have had Matt Phillips in a 3 man midfield in a month of sundays but he was the pick of the lot (doing everything Livermore in team to do- tackle and drive with the ball)
Easily our best performance of the season. Just need to start getting these clean sheets and fix our away form as we have plenty of tough home games over the next run.
Special mention to HRK today who had one of his best games for Albion.
-
Nearly 😄
I was about to congratulate you just as we conceded.
-
Bloody brilliant performance and result everyone played to their potential and blew away a quality side with attacking threats all over park. Darren take a bow for being brave enough to change your shape and tactics.
-
What a difference a week makes.
Albion played a great game, pushed up and didn't tippy tap the ball out from the back. It was long kicks upfield and the front line running onto them. The midfield stood strong and Albion looked dangerous every time they attacked.
Playing four at the back stopped Leeds and overall the team produced possibly the best all round performance of the season.
Lets hope we stick to this gameplan. Great performance!
-
Went out of my way to find a bar showing the game. It was my first viewing of a game this season, so felt I had to see for myself what was going so wrong. Weeks and weeks of gnashing of teeth on this forum led me to believe that something was awry. You lot obviously don’t have a clue, because I thought we’re quite good. ☺ï¸
-
A great performance and result, just what was needed after the debacle at Hull last week.
Everyone played their part well. I thought Adabarioyo was the stand out in defence. Phillips was MoM for me.
Good to see some of the posters that have been so negative about Moore coming on and praising him for the change in formation.
Such a shame we couldn't keep the clean sheet the performance deserved, but hitting Leeds for 4 is still a hell of an achievement.
-
Still absolutely buzzing after that one!
-
Lots of positives to take from the match, for me the midfield energy provided by Morrison used in preference to Brunt or Barry is important. Interested to see where we go from here with team selection.
-
Amazing result. I’ve slagged him off for two seasons now, but Philips - that performance was brilliant. The tackle that led to his goal - outstanding. Very happy to Hegazi back there in a four and Bartley nowhere to be seen.
-
EFL Quest highlights are saying we only had 28% possession???
I though we had much more than that
20 shots is pretty remarkable for 28% possession ;D.
-
I must admit when I saw that stat straight after the game I was very surprised. Felt we had a lot more of the ball than that certainly, but it's what you do with that possession and tonight we certainly where, 20 shots I believe we had.
A lot of Leeds's possession was passing it back and forth along the back line. Possession like that is not going to going to hurt any team. They did work some good moments out wide and I've a feeling that had we used 3 at the back would have pulled us out of shape.
-
I thought Leeds played some really tidy stuff today. Some lovely one touch and some of their movement caused us problems. Thank God we went to a back 4.
HRK was a clear dive. Let his leg drag.
Glad Gayle scored the back heel as it was a clear hand ball from the shot.
Really didn't think Leeds looked like scoring and disappointed in letting in a goal at the end.
Yes, the can pass it around out of the danger zones but Hegazi and Dawson ( back to the superb defender we know he can be) easily snuffed them out.
Going forward we just destroyed them.
Great night and great atmosphere.
-
They didn't show it close up, well not that I can remember. But the ref was quick to book him.
Not enough for a penalty and he played for it but no worse that Roofe's fling to the ground that never got a booking.
-
After tonight, I could see why, he was dreadful.
Let Leeds get away with so much and why no yellows for all the fouls they were committing ?
-

They had the best chance of the first half when their player hit it straight at the keeper in a similar position (but closer) to the one that Barnes scored a while ago where he opened his body and side footed it into the top corner.
There was also a few times in the second half when their movement got some players free in a dangerous place. One, I think it was, Flick (or something like that), ran it across our goal 8 yards out and should have pulled the trigger but tried to pass it.
We totally deserved the win and it was a brilliant performance from us, best of the season but I definitely think Leeds will be in the top 4 come the end of the season.
-
Dont want to put a damper on a great performance but why now do the Smethwick sing "Who are ya" "who are ya" when we score?"
I know they are only lads but Boing Boing can never be bettered so why are they copying other fans?
-
Good performance. Pleased for DM.
-
. We sold out unfortunately within an hour of going on sale . That’s why we are in the home ends. I’m with a baggie though
I hope you enjoyed the view ;D .
-
Despite being informed that Leeds received an allocation of 2,600 that was clearly wrong. Their following was the largest to visit the Hawthorns this season. 2,737 officially populated the Hawthorns.
The 22,924 supporters in the home sections is the second largest of the season bettered only by the 23,382 against Bolton on the opening day.
How many Leeds fans were in Albion areas is anyone's guess. I have a feeling the two people in front of me were Leeds fans I've not seen them before and the left when the forth goal went in. :D
-
Really good performance - a much more balanced, organised team performance.
The centre back pairing were excellent and looked much more comfortable in a back four.
Morrison added much needed impetus to the midfield. HRK & Rodriguez both had very good games
A pleasing return to form
-

Although I love a Boing Boing, it felt great to sing that to the Leeds fans and shut them up.

The boing boing is a bit dated and boring now isn't it?
Perhaps it's just me.

I'd take Boing Boing any day over "We all go down...". Cringed massively again yesterday when that came back in the last few minutes.

I don't doubt it. The essence of us coming back up and kicking '**** out the Villa' seems to be lost on many as if we went back up, chances are the Villa would not be there for us to kick **** out of...

In an ideal world, I'd like us to play out from the back, with more possession and attacking football. However we haven't got the players for that, and it's showed, so last night is how we have to set up for the rest of this season. If Big Dave wants to revisit passing football next season, then he'll have chance with the player turnover to come next summer.
Robson-Kanu was decent yesterday, but our strongest starting eleven will still include Gayle, maybe even Sako at his expense. You could see from the start the team was more comfortable doing what was being asked of it, and they worked really hard. All season we haven't had the energy or fire, but you could see it last night. But then we've had managers try to change our style in the past (Mel) and the players wouldn't do it for him, so as positive as that performance was, I can't help but wonder if it's coming from the right place, or if the tails wagging the dog.
We have to continue this though, no going backwards.
-
The boing boing is a bit dated and boring now isn't it?
Perhaps it's just me.
I miss the days where we'd all go proper mental, and boing after every goal.

Someone was apparently knocked down near the Cricket Club after the match last night. I just wondered how the injured person is.
I don't know what could be done to improve the situation, but i must confess, that in the dark I find the walk back to my car, parked adjacent to The Sportsman has me feeling quite nervous.
Some drivers heading towards the Motorway Island drive erratically even verging on dangerously.
Crossing the roads is challenging. It is visibly clear that many of the drivers are our fellow supporters who should know the after match conditions and their driving is inexcusable.
In particular drivers accelerate towards the M5 south slip road causing pedestrians to scatter.
I am amazed that people are not seriously injured or even worse.
A 5-10 minute road closure outside the Brummie would surely allow the bulk of the crowd heading in that direction to thin-out.
Shouldn't the police be monitoring this?
-
Not sure if its the same incident but I saw on Facebook someone had suffered 2 broken legs, also saw that someone had had a phone pinched but again not sure if same incident.

feel like a squirrel crossing that road,shall I shan't I, am I going to lose my nuts?😁

It getting beyond a joke you take you life in your hands and the motorway island is a tragedy waiting to happen .
Hope the injured person has a swift and healthy recovery.

Finally the penny has dropped. The back line was more comfortable and solid. Midfield was available within the back lines passing range and the forwards could work more confidently on that solid base.
I'm still puzzled why Rodriguez attracts so much flack. Yesterday he provided two assists, hit the bar with a long range shot and did a lot of marking of Leeds's alleged playmaker, Kalvin Phillips. Perhaps that's why some thought we were playing 4-4-2 rather than 4-3-3. I would call it a fluid formation.
-
Not sure about sexiest definately the weak link.
Not sure if my autocorrect has a thing for his man bun or the Stella brought out my feminine side but I meant weekest. Honest :-[
To be fair though, having watched the game sober, he had a better game than I thought. Please, please, 433 next game, dont waste the break trying to make a Silk purse out of a 352 pigs ear.

It has traffic lights....Needs pedestrian lights.

I've been almost speechless since the win. What a way to end a bad run. Spectacular and we looked by far the better side.
Watched it in the pub here in St. Anne's and the start to a fantastic night. Well except for my best mate, Leeds supporter that he is!
Nothing to complain about from a well organised side, good shape and attacking intent. Brilliant.
-
I was nearly run over after the Derby game crossing the Birmingham road to the car park next to McDonald's some div bombing up from the motorway island towards Birmingham he must have been doing 50 with thousands coming out of the ground. I had just seen him in time but thanks to my fellow baggie who grabbed me as he saw what was happening scary thing was the chap who grabbed me said I thought you were a gonner mate.
-
I prefer it when we stick to celebrating WBA things after we score, rather than focussing on the opposition.
Also, starting the anti Wolves chants just because one of the opposition happened to play for them at some time in their history. Who knows, he may hate them as much if he left on bad terms. And also, we've got an ex Wolves player on our books now!
-
The best performance of the season.
Would have happily taken a draw before KO.
Barnes looked back to his best Tosin and Phillips played very well.
-
The police should control the traffic/pedestrians crossing the roads around the large roundabout. I am surprised that nobody has been killed, much of the driving is reckless. The police, though, are useless, it’s a dereliction of their duty not to safeguard those road crossings. Sadly, the police are more interested in catching someone shouting something non-pc than preventing a death on the roads. We now park elsewhere.
-
He also missed one of our players pulling a Leeds player’s shirt at one of their corners. Fortunate!
-
Surely we must now start 433 every game - we can revert to 3 at the back if we need to chase a game, at least we'll have practiced the system!!

Have a read through the link below if/when you've got the time.

Thanks. Still not sure I buy the view that Moore has to convince Jones - that’s just guesswork, but I do see why it’s said.

Besides conceding at the end it was a perfect performance we could have been 2 or 3 up at the break.
Eventually Gayle will have to start over Rodriguez but that team should be starting at Ipswich.
Chuffed for Darren as I have been going bananas bout previous tactics. I really want him to succeed

20 shots is pretty remarkable for 28% possession ;D.
Thats a shot nearly every 90 seconds of possession :)

To add more fuel to the formation debate, I found this report which had us lining up as a 4-2-2-2 against Leeds!
https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=westbrom+4+v+Leeds+1+match+report&oq=WestBr&aqs=chrome.0.69i59j69i60l2j0l2j69i65.2814j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#sie=m;/g/11f6dtwjw_;2;/m/0355pl;ln;fp;1
Just to be clear it definitely looked like 4-3-3 to me!
-
I've never rated him as a ref and on Saturday he was poor for both sides.
I couldn't believe how he let Alioski and Hernandez badger him at every free kick we gave away.
Should have booked at least one Leeds player for the continued fouls of Barnes and HRK, although HRK doesn't help himself with his diving/falling to the floor.

I've seen this 4-2-2-2 quoted as well. Absolute rubbish. I can only assume it's meant as Phillips and Barnes as the two behind the strikers as Phillips was the attacking one in midfield. Barnes clearly played no further back than Kanu did on the opposite side.
Blind Freddie could see that when Leeds had the ball at the back (which is often the best time to accurately judge a system) it was definitely 4-3-3 with Barnes far further advanced than Phillips.
To try and call it anything other than 4-3-3 is trying to be clever IMO.

Always like to do these after a day or so of the game so can give an honest opinion.
Johnstone -7- didn't really have that much to do, was comfortable with the saves he had to make, catching seemed better. Was flat footed for the goal but to be honest I wasn't expecting him to score with a header either.
Tosin - 8 - Handled the right back role well considering he doesn't really have much experience there. At times was doubled up on but was solid, growing into the first team.
Dawson - 7 - Solid enough performance, looked more comfortable being asked to defend rather than be a playmaker.
Hegazi - 7 - See Dawson.
Gibbs - 7 - Routine performance, didn't really do anything exciting and didn't put a foot wrong either.
Livermore - 7 - Was a nuisance all evening, getting at their cente mids and trying to break play up.
Morrison - 8 - Slotted in comfortably in a deeper role, took the ball of the back 4 and started our attacks.
Barnes - 8 - another goal, took it well, numerous times in the first half he got us up the pitch and Leeds looked scared of him.
HRK - 9 - Probably his best performance in a WBA shirt.
Phillips - 9 - superb. Ran out them numerous times, turned defensive into attack, grabbed his goal. Looked a threat in the 'number 10' role.
Rodriguez - 9 - Back to the glimpses we saw of him last year. Did well for the HRK and Gayle goals and unlucky not to grab himself a goal.
-

We had a similar situation early in the first-half. And also the Leeds player stepping across Dawson's run which he then gave as a free-out to Leeds. Spotted and officiated the Robson-Kanu dive well and the referee wasn't a major factor in the game.

It was so blatant that I've have been really concerned if he'd have missed it. Would have been interesting to see if he'd have given us a penalty for the handball in the lead up to Gayle's goal (if he hadn't scored). Agreed that thankfully he wasn't a major factor in the game.

Saw the man on the ground but not the accident itself. Police and ambulances were quickly on the scene. I agree with the comments on the Brummy road, it is dangerous. Over time drivers seem to have got ever more inpatient and are desperate to get out of car parks, often accelerating quickly in front of pedestrians, sometimes past small children. Given the amount of traffic heading back to West Brom, we definitely need pelican crossings on the roundabout.
-
Was well pleased with the performance Saturday and most of my thoughts have already been well covered by others so will leave well alone there
Did anyone else see the Leeds supporters getting a bit leary with the old bill at the station? :'(
Seemed like they had had enough and just wanted out of it but couldn't get onto the platforms :D
Also have to give the Smeth a big thumbs up for the Lalalala to the tune of Hey Jude followed by "your really not very good are you" or one word to that effect
The atmosphere all evening, in not only the Smeth, was pretty fabulous despite my grumps about it being silly o'clock on a Saturday for footie
Finally what about the idiot Leeds fan hanging on to the ball and time wasting when they were already one nill down! :-[
Johnson played him like fiddle a couple of times afterwards :P
-
Perhaps someone could put it on the next Assembly agenda. Ask the club to take it up with the police/council, and ask for regular feedback on progress. Needs to be addressed as a matter of urgency.

I thought it was a woman? If it's the same incident. I heard she received two broken legs.
It is a joke around the stadium after the match and not just the Brummie Road, Halfords Lane has its problems too.
Simple solution close the roads off for half an hour or so after the game. At the moment the authorities are neglecting their duties by refusing to be proactive and each trying to shove the responsibility on to someone else.
Not good enough.

It was a woman, early thirties apparently. Two broken legs as you've stated plus lacerations to her head. She was also 'relieved' of her phone whilst on the ground, however this was returned to her in hospital on the night. I've no idea if the person responsible for taking her phone was relieved of their teeth.

Maybe the person who "relieved" her of her phone was the same person that returned it to her in hospital that night? Maybe they knew her and saw her phone on the floor and picked it up for safe keeping with the intention of returning it to her ?

Not from what I've read elsewhere no.
-
When I passed there were a number of angry people around, and the alleged driver was sat in his car, with people around the car ensuring he went nowhere.
The thought that in the midst of this "one of our own" lifted the lady's phone is alarming.
Hopefully the Albion and more importantly the Police will react to this accident and do something about it, particularly as the next two home games are 8PM kick-offs.
-
We walked past this not long after the incident happened and there was quite a bit of confusion as to what had occurred at the time.
That area and indeed that road after games has been a disaster waiting to happen for a while now.
There are no stewards etc to direct the flow of people and cars usually end up pushing out of the footfall and going on the "wrong" side of the road to get past them.
Suffice to say I'm surprised that upto this point there hasn't been any/many other accidents (that i'm aware of)
It's also a problem before the game too right by the cricket ground, those idiotic "Parking Attendants" do nothing whatsoever to protect the fans walking towards the ground and if anything they are happy to motion for cars to drive into the car park whilst groups of us are walking past the entrance etc. Absolutely clueless.
-
It's a shame, but anybody who walks that way will tell you it's not a surprise.
There are problems crossing the roads all along that way up from town, and no shortage of idiot drivers who just want to get away from the match (or the traffic it creates).
I always try and stay pavement side once I'm a bit further from the ground, as I've seen people nearly get hit when we take up two lanes of the road.

4-0 baggies
Superb!
-
Great game and great performance. That said despite posts to the contrary we still played 3 at the back. No doubt. The 3 were superb Adarabioyo in particular standing out. Phillips was fantastic at right back. Morrison bossed the game.
In front of the midfield players HRK and Barnes were tremendous: both holding their positions so Rodriguez could play.
Best performance of the season by miles!

It was obviously a back 4 of Adabarioyo, Dawson, Hegazi and Gibbs, Phillips was right midfield.
