Cheers.

It appears when it comes to these kids we either need to put up, or shut up. I do wonder what the rate for Barry was though. It certainly seems reports of 30,40,50k are wide of the mark. Otherwise why would we have suspected he would always come back, and villa certainly wouldn’t be paying a 16 year old that.

Its been stated on here that we offered Barry £500 a week for his first year in his first professional contract so he rejected it. Can't blame him.

I would be careful accepting rumour as fact.

He's been training at seal park for the last week and a half whilst they negotiate the deal with Barca

With him and his family being Villa fans it makes you wonder why he came to the Albion doesn't it (not)?

Top level coaching whilst not having to move away from the area and then the first chance you get to bog off to your favourite team you take it even when that means the club that nurtured you for years gets sod all for their efforts. Thanks pal.

I can only presume the Villa rejected him as a kid if they are all Villa fans, as otherwise you'd think he would have joined them instead of us at a younger age.

Obviously I don't know the ins and outs of this but quite frankly it absolutely stinks how this particular episode has played out.

Yep, though I think my own thoughts on the matter aren't suitable for this board!

If we haven’t been paid can’t the club take out some kind of injunction to stop him playing until payment is received?

I have never wished anything bad on any ex player. But for him to screw the club that invested and made him like that.. wish him every injury in the book and cannot wait to see him fail. Yes it's childish immature small time whatever. There is a way of doing things. This is beyond scummy.

I suspect the twatter thing is a fishy smelling wind up. However the whole thing stinks and the FA should be stopping this if they value academies

No - our contractual dispute is solely with Barcelona.  Sale of Goods Act wouldn’t apply.  He wasn’t even under contract to us so wasn’t “ours” to sell.

He’s done nothing wrong. The abuse he has received is a bit over the top.

Take your frustration out on the club who haven’t paid us.

Picture of him posing with Mark Harrison in the BMail.  Probably wouldn't have happened without him. I had a feeling that all the changes in personell with our academy and youth staff wouldn't be for the better. In this case, Harrison moving to Villa could have other consequences,  but how do you stop someone like Harrison wanting to better himself.

Except football does not use normal business rules ... FiFA could block it until payment is made
