We either need to go up and stay up so he can recoup his money or sink lower and lower so he has to take whatever he can. Unfortunately the latter looks more and more likely.

No chance we see the Premier League again whilst he's still about.

He offers nothing - a totally anonymous footballer.

He is not good enough out wide because he’s technically poor and any attack breaks down with him.

The point about the balance of the side is spot on but the lack of alternatives are staggering.

The money we have wasted on him is a travesty.

And to think the club opted against signing Toney for less money. Bonkers!

He was the wrong head coach. It was almost too brave of an appointment.

Why can't we just have a promising, normal manager that's open to change, sees things and reacts . Bruce and VI do not do that it seems.

No dinosaurs, no uber--niche 1 way managers. Just a versatile, logical manager who is open to change and can implement it.

Because the board lack the ability to appoint somebody like that.

When all is said and done, is there really anything he can do with this hapless lot? Not even Pep or Klopp would be able to work miracles with them.

No shadow of a doubt that we'll be in the wilderness for quite some time as long as this man owns our football club.

Mr Lai, you have single-handedly undone the hard work of those before you. It is all well and good stating you wanted to run the club in a sustainable manner but you have proven time and again that you do not have the capability to do so. The recruitment of players have been shambolic, the performances of certain stalwart players has been even worse and whilst our rivals have built on what they have, we have done the complete opposite without any hesitation.

It is about time you forgot about saving face in your homeland and do the right thing by yourself, the club and its supporters. Take the hit on what you paid and get as far away from here as you possibly can.

I think that with SA joining the Six Nations, it would be at the expense of Italy.

If we want to improve the standard of Rugby across Europe, Italy shouldn’t be sacrificed for income

I'd be all for promotion/relegation from the Six Nations. The likes of Georgia can't do any worse than Italy.

Is Phillips even fit yet?

I hope not. He hasn't offered anything for quite some time!

Just absurd. The state of football fans today.

The state of them lot up the road in general, really. Did they honestly think he'd get them pushing for the league already?

We're in a venkys style purgatory with owners who don't have a clue, no money to invest and no opportunity to sell because we're so badly run we won't get promoted anytime soon.

Not sure where we as fans go from here with Lai other than making it obvious Lai isn't welcome until he cuts his losses.

Funnily enough, we have had plenty of opportunities to do so since fans were allowed to return to the stadiums. It should have been done at the end of last season (West Ham game?) with the train wreck of a campaign that it was, but those who were able to go decided they were just happy to be there.

Not seen anyone suggesting that is desirable

I've seen several on Twitter (should probably have said where I saw it, apologies)

Seasons over as far as I’m concerned, give the guys who will be here next year a go.

Palmer
Furlong O’Shea Bartley Townsend
TGH Mowatt
Tulloch Robinson Diangana
Grant (Dike when he’s back)

Harsh on Carroll, tried hard but utter pooh IMO

I'd happily sack off the majority of that XI as well

I'm glad to see that this charlatan's ambition (or lack of) has now been matched by sections of our fanbase, who now wouldn't mind falling into League One because it was fun last time.  >:(

This is what we've resorted to, is it? Falling further behind the Villa and Wolves just so people can have a good day out at the likes of Morecambe?!

Absolutely shambolic.

First mock ups or genuine leaks?

Do we know how long the deal is with Puma? Hummel are making some great looking kits at the moment.

Not a fan of those at all. Don't suppose anybody knows a timescale for when the new kits will be unveiled?

When are they definitely relegated?
How soon?

If Watford were to beat Newcastle & West Ham to beat Norwich, those lot are down if they lose the next 2. Watford & West Ham have to play each other a week tomorrow (16th).

As Costa Blanca Baggie said, not soon enough  :D

I think it's a 12 points deduction

It's a 12 point deduction, correct. However it isn't being applied straight away. It will be applied at the end of the season should they finish outside the bottom 3. If they were to finish in the bottom 3 anyway, then the deduction comes into effect next season.

Terrible news to hear. A good friend of mine who is a Cardiff fan can not speak highly enough of the guy - an absolute legend in that part of the land.

My thoughts are with his loved ones at this very difficult time.

Exactly, and Cardiff were 3 points clear of Preston and +11 GD for a play off place a few years ago with 1 game left... at Preston, which they lost 6-0, statistically virtually impossible, but it happened.

Just had to look that up. It must have been absolutely sickening missing out on goals scored by 1! :o

Somebody mentioned (and provided the link) that Geoff Horsfield had been on this podcast, and in it he told the presenters to get AJ on.

So low and behold, they've actually gone and done it. It's really worth a listen!

Can we please drop Bartley now? How many more goals does he have to cost us?

What else was he supposed to do? It was going to be a goal regardless

He won't sign a new deal even if it does all go belly up today for him. He will be off in the summer regardless and we will be short of a few million pounds. This deal has to get across the line, I do not want to see him back here now after all that has happened

Oh I know he won't sign, it was merely hypothetical  ;)

If it meant he came back, took stock and signed a new deal then great. Frustrating for us to be so close to a deal though. In danger of losing him for peanuts now.

So would I, but here's the problem. He comes back and signs the deal, plays and makes 1 mistake and the fans will have him for it.

Normally, I wouldn't advocate mass changes but, this now needs to be about fringe players staking a claim. The first 11 are rubbish at the minute so should be looking over their shoulders, they need shaking up, especially the "undroppables"
Bond, Fitzwater, O'Shea, Harper (if fit), Barry, Brunt, Edwards, Krovinovic, Willock, Tulloch, Austin should all be involved with a clear message, do well and you're in contention for Cardiff.

                Bond
Furlong O'Shea Ajayi Brunt
          Barry Harper
Edwards Krovinovic Willock
                Austin

Tulloch and Fitzwater on the bench

I'd happily settle for that XI, to be honest.
