Youth Game? Thought it was just any Albion players? Was hoping to see a few familiar faces.

Worcester are my second team so taking a few boys with me to set up a Pre-Season Ultras. Flares, vuvuzelas, the whole shebang.

Its officially down as a Development Squad friendly so I would imagine mainly consisting of academy players with the addition of any first team/ senior pro's not going to Sweden.

I'm wearing both my Worcester City shirt and my Albion shirt. Both blue and white stripes, can't grumble. I'll sporadically change shirts depending on how the momentum swings.

Gutted the WCFC goalkeeper has had to quit (due to other work commitments) as having watched him a few times, he was fantastic. No idea how he wasn't looked at by a League 2 club at least. Rob Elvins ex WBA youth player still plays there if anyone remembers him. And Gary o Connor, James O Connor's brother is there still I think.

Sam Mantom the only senior included.

ALBION have named a young 18-man squad for tonight's pre-season trip St George's Lane to face Worcester City (ko 7.45pm).

Sam Mantom is the most senior player involved as the Baggies take on a City side that finished seventh in Blue Square Bet North last season.

ALBION (from): Lewis, Francis, D Daniels, Gayle, Garmston, Mantom, Atkinson, Roofe, J Bantom, Sawyers, Nabi, Palmer, A Jones, C Jones, Pace, I Brown, Ambalu, Howkins.

Went along tonight, to be honest was your typical early pre season friendly, pitch with some bobbles, rusty touches and an underdog right up for it.

Few of the younger lads impressed me, Lewis in goal was decent and Gayle, Daniels were good at CB. Bradley Garmston, who is the spitting image of Kieran Gibbs, looked good at left back too which was promising as its an area where it would be nice to have a youngster coming through in a few years! Also though Wes Atkinson was the pick of the midfielders. All in all a good run out for the lads.

Wasn't especially impressed with any of the attacking players last night. However, thought Daniels has the potential to be a very, very good player. Built like Darren Moore - 6ft 4, strong as an ox. He won everything in the air, very physical. Looks like a really good prospect. Thought his CB partner Cameron Gayle looked good too - more of a ball playing centre half.

Daniels was the only one who looked anywhere near decent in my opinion.

I actually thought Gayle out-shined Daniels yesterday, but  as some-one has already said, Wesley Atkinson was very impressive

i paid 5.10 for ticket and travel which was exceptionally good. Glad i went, there was a fair atmosphere and the game was pretty open. As has already been said, Daniels looked solid at the back, and our right winger sub also looked impressive in the latter stages of the game, keeping the ball well and pumping good balls into the box. however, our strikers lacked cutting edge at times and thats why worcester deserved the win. hopefully will get along to walsall in early august as that is a derby game and the atmosphere should be good.
